  1. Does that mean, sell the house and move the immediate family to Gold Coast or maybe Tasmania.
  2. METRO TRAINS DISRUPTIONS Buses replace trains on sections of the Hurstbridge, Belgrave, Lilydale and Glen Waverley lines at various times on Monday April 24. Passengers should allow extra time when travelling to and from the MCG. Please be aware after the game there may be increased congestion and delays getting onto the platforms at Richmond and Jolimont stations. Passengers are advised to return to where they got off the bus prior. [Go to this ptv link to understand your travel.] For further information and to plan your journey at ptv.vic.gov.au. 3. I hope our losses are due to being a home ground (MCG fortress) team now (struggling as away team), and we get the best out of our players on the MCG. Would love us to unbeatable on the hallowed turf. That will set us up for a great finals series, so long as as we make them and get the home ground matches. When we play good footy and do it for the four quarters we are more than competitive with any other team. I get a sense, they don't like losing. Would hate for us to over try, lose our rhythm, not find the "zone" and end up as individuals pushing and not a team jelling. I want to see us run them off their legs, swarm in attack, hunt, get and spread, then make great connection. The other thing is, be in the contest, as I think it is bad footy, when we sit back and let the opponents get to the ball first with very little pressure. C'mon backs, miserly best. Forwards to take their opportunities. Mids to transition well when turnovers happen, get more contested possessions and clearances than the Tiges. Not too much to ask! Go Dees

  5. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." I always associate this night with the part of the ode, "At the going down of the sun", and leading to the dawn service. The beginning of reflection. The ceremony and people's energy, is amazing and so heart filled.
  6. I've only read your "fire back", as a challenge to debate. Haven't read a word where you do personal attacks. Some are very defensive/protective of our players, and know many players families read demonland. My advice would be to do twice as many positive opinions as honest negative one's. WCW is a sweet person, if you also show the positive, I think she would be more supportive. Her feedback showed that, when you were positive about one of my posts.
  7. He likes biting back, if we treat him kindly then the discussion is unlikely to be about the personal. As he said a few times, "debate his opinion" not his scathing remarks, and I think you will find a reasonable intelligence.
  8. 3165 needs a bit of support and he will give positive feedback as well as his honest opinions. Certainly dislikes personal hits. He reads and knows the game well, I like his opinions and he is brave enough to put alternative perspectives out there.
  9. Dunstan missed some quite simple hit ups. Those turnovers will kill us at AFL level. Sparrow has a good kick, and is getting better the more his confidence rises. Agree, that he appears to be struggling, but he may be playing his team role well. At the captain's run today, they were using Tom as an outside runner/ball receiver (unusual, as he is usually in and under/around). Dunstan is good for the development of young players, like Woey and AMW, at those stoppages.
  10. Was in the squad for the AFL captain's run. Chance he is the sub.
  11. BBB had difficulty causing defensive pressure. His best efforts would be spreading his arms out and kind of zoning an area making the opponent with the ball have only 180 ° of exit. He looked a lot taller than any of the Tigers backs. Should have dominated and missing set shots without much angle is bad footy. Didn't appear to be much wind out at Casey given that a kite was flying above the field. Need to want to win and not just be satisfied if they want to be AFL. Competitiveness is a must. Best players don't even like losing at tiddlywinks.
  12. Played a good 1st half, and I thought the same thing, but left in the second. Consistency is needed, especially at the level he is playing.
  13. I thought D.Turner turned the game and momentum, by those intercepts in the third. Played a good game in a dysfunctional backline. They couldn't zone well as they let the opponents get to the ball first and very few attacking moves that came off, (couldn't find a corridor). Tomlinson needs some confidence, his leadership and structural set up down back appeared to suffer, as well as his poor decision making, slipping over and switching off. He usually dominates and supports D.Turner very well at this level.
  14. We really missed those hard bodied and experienced VFL players, Munro, Buntine, and Baldi. Wow, BBB not taking his opportunity from straight out infront, though not the only one. We have a few AFL listed players who will have to lift/develop their game, if they want to be AFL standard. Jefferson, Adams, AMW, D.Smith, Farris-White. Some terrible field kicking and missed opportunities killed us. Nearly stole it.
  15. Where's Moniz-Wakefield and D.Smith when the ball hits the ground and the game is on the line. Harmsy!
  16. Jed Adams needs more development How long is this third quarter
  17. Still in touch, with that Sestan (Grey) goal. (Commentator getting the name wrong)
  18. Tomlinson having a shocker. Dropped the mark, then no follow up, turned his back on play and opponent moved through the space he could've been guarding. Lost his feet many times. Harmes trying hard, D.Turner intercepting well. They don't seem invested in it. Chasing and getting beaten to the ball.
  19. The rehab was working hard. All sprinting, like they were achieving, under distance and time restrictions. Salem, M.White, J. Smith, Spargo and another VFL player. M. White and Salem continued to run laps. Spargo and J.Smith attended some drills. Smith's thumb still giving him some concern, as he attended to it a few times after marking. First out on the field, 4 minutes before the rest of the squad, was the backline (Petty not with them). It looks like they want to go well after last week's effort. The drills started a bit low-key, and they were slightly off, iffy, clean handling and distribution. The second drill, they started finding their voice and skills improved. The third drill and they're humming, They spilt into two groups, that both worked on ball movement from the backs, thoughtfully to mids and finding angles and passes to advantage into the forwards. Finished the session with goal kicking. Tracc and Lever looking very good. Gawn started with some resistance work and joined in all the drills (ready to go). Did lots of work as a forward. L.Bailey is looking very smooth when moving and kicking. The effort and intensity was much higher than the other Captain runs I have seen. Go Dees
  20. I assumed you meant uneven placement of the hands, so the ball hits them at different times. I understand your description, and will look more closely at JVR's method next time.
  21. 20 AFL games. [JVR taking marks]
  22. I think you are right about the ball bouncing out of JVR's hands when marking, though I don't think it is the positioning. Hands are too stiff, no give when the ball is there. He has buckets for hands and I can see him developing those grabs, which he can take (training observations). Could be related to "not being loose as a goose" when playing. Give him some time, a few great games and he may be able to show us something. At least he is bringing it down for the front and centres, which appears to be be the instructions.
  23. @Tim, @DemonWheels, @old dee, @old55, @layzie, @pitmaster, @Bimbo, @sisso, @tiers, @Demons1858, @Demonland, @Hawk the Demon. Does anyone have an answer to why you didn't nform this site and myself about the training today? At the moment, I feel taken for granted. I need support, otherwise I will not post and you can get reports from another. I turned up today with guess work and uncertainty. That could have been totally different, a little heads up would be appreciated.
  24. When I first saw JVR's knee, about two weeks ago, he had one of those supportive elasticised bandages on it, then it was a sticky sports bandage. Today I didn't notice, but it seems to be progressing in size. Hoping they are just trying to give it the support it needs and is not an ongoing problem.
