I listened to the game. I was "informed" by professionals who call the game. I have opinions from that broadcast. Often people get the same input only to have differing interpretations. Dismiss me, but that is from your prejudice and not reality. You are pandering to the spectators who are doubters and fair weather supporters.

From my journey through life, the stereotypical success is overrated. Greedy, acquiring, worshipped, you become weighed down and lose joy of the moment. The struggle creates neuroses. Be free of the outcome, or join the stoics, expect the worse hope for the best. Success tends to hide that there us something wrong, it doesn't promote self reflection or a reflection on life. I think that is why many in powerful societal roles get out of touch with the experiences of majority of us. Be childlike, with every experience being a new one, the result becomes irrelevant.

25 responses to my attack on the venters, most telling me, to let them be, to move on and not mention the criticism. Don't go at the crowd. As for "you" having an affliction, I do it for my own gratification. I want to read a balanced board, not one taken over by hubris. Being put down for offering some direction. Typical of the heads in the sand, don't talk about it people. Can't understand the superficial. Life is a deep dive into the amazing.
-
But, the venters hit up straight away in the first. Not good reading for someone looking for game info.
-
I think they do both. Behaviour, causes habits and then addiction.
-
Why the personal attacks? I am not Confucius.

I may be strange, it is only a footy game. Doesn't mean I am not passionate about MFC and AFL. I enjoy the game and have for decades. I am not so tribal or divisive, and can find my life not being turned upside down because of a loss. I enjoy a win and take a loss in a sportsmanship way. I get this from participating in competitions and not the media that thrives on us having divisions.

I am not upset. Merely trying to change a few of the perspectives. Those wallowing could be happier with a change in their thoughts. I like the moments I live. To win or lose is not so important to me, the journey is my joy. Success is overated. If only the praise would be expressed more. The criticism always seem to be in greater numbers. Reading the venom is not much fun, and shows a lack of self understanding by the authors. You're the second person to say I shouldn't post. What is that about? Good luck group thinkers. A dissenting voice to the "realists" and "venters" should not heard!
-
I understand it. Just don't get how it makes joy with that type of perspective. Focusing on the negative is a protective behaviour, so you don't do it again. Though you will all be back again for more of it. Sadistic or change the behaviour. Repeating the way is not in your best interest.

Agree, but that seems to be were we are at. The leader aren't quire right.
-
I am not a stand back person. Not stopping the vent, no chance you can change others, that is up to them. Merely bewildered by such an approach to being. Addit; the venting was there very early in the game, same happened last week.
-
I am reading the demonland threads. Yes you are right, judging all the sourness and misery.
-
Given last week we applauded the young ones for carrying us, I assume they didn't today. When our young brigade fire they will drag the oldies along with them. That is were I see our team at the moment. We rely on the youngsters.
-
Here I am, and I am sure there are others. Doom and gloomers are up and going. In Goody I trust.
-
Kossie is 23 or 24 (still young), cannot be in his prime yet, 27 to 28 is when they come into their prime, I reckon.
-
The venting was all through the game day forum. Gets a bit much. I can understand after the game. The threads really tick over when the game doesn't go our way. When we take control the thread has much less input. Seems the venters want to be the dominant voice. Makes like they don't enjoy footy.

Couldn't watch the game, listened to it. Didn't hear that the youngsters played well from the commentary. We are a young team!
-
Turner played well last week, this week not much. JVR seemed the same, as was kossie. I only listened to the game but could be wrong.

Cannot watch, overseas and a wifi link is not possible to set up and the watch AFL and streaming to a tv comes out at about $100 a month. as a guest I cannot set up with the modem etcetera. listened on the radio. That aside, I am disappointed in the negative of many on the Demonland. I am amazed that you put yourselves through pain. It is a game that usually half those watching lose or win. To be so infuriated and disparaging with a loss just bamboozle me.
-
Cannot believe the chicken littles, sky is falling and the constant disparagement. Young ones will be inconsistent, it is the next few games that will define our season. So we lose one, it is not the finish of us as a competitive team. Keep building Dees.
-
The pessimists are out again. Have some belief. At least when we are losing there is more reading on this forum. If we get our system going can you all keep posting as I only have the radio. Go Dees.

Thanks Binman, I enjoyed the podcast and the segment, unleashed/dumped. Agree with what you say about Goody. My thoughts are that he has changed/evolved his approach, the opposite of stubborn. We have seen him grow as a strategist and a personnel manager (players, assistance and administrators). His analysis and understanding of the game is second to none. He always appears calm and continues to instill culture and brand into the MFC at all opportunities. I used to think that he wasn't getting the best out of the players. Then I look at our young players development and how they make an impact (including some we let go) when they get their opportunities. He also seems to have found the balance between over-involved and aloof, with the group. Love his emphasis on roles. They can play knowing what is expected which can help when the going gets tough, and when in review. He seems to give 100% to the club and his group. Thanks Goody.

Can the Cheer squad get a giant head of the "haircut" with that title and a sign of love #22, or, is that a bit overboard and could be seen as sarcasm, cynicism and opportunistic. Doesn't a win over the bombs make for a good week! @WalkingCivilWar Just had one of those great Thai massages, woo hoo. 2hrs and $15.
-
Thanks Ethan, difficult job, that by the end of the game, their best is to be unnoticed. We need them and especially at the lower levels across many codes. The dislike of umps is a disservice to everyone.
-
I am usually in the top tier of the southern stand, the applause for the umpire as they are announced has been more popular of late. It used to be an occasional spectator along with myself. Now, more family's are doing it. Could be about the AFL pushing the "respect". I'd still suggest, we put our biases aside and the ego (getting supporters on a similar trajectory) and start giving love and not the popularised vinegar. Team focused Thanks for the reply. PS. Keep up the good work, back from Thailand in early September. I'd suggest taking it to extreme, and giving the umps a standing ovation as they enter. See if the cheer squad can influence them. @WalkingCivilWar
