Kozzie was electric, a joy to watch. Backline very solid. May & Salem can both improve. Trac, Viney & Lingers all good. BBB showing positive signs. Spargo did some good things that led to goals. Maxy not great but serviceable and will get better! The two players Demonlanders didn’t want in Bedford almost unsighted and Melksham did a few good things and slowed Alir first half, but he does look slow & fumbly. All in all take a win against Port team that had a crack, a bit frustrating that they kicked last three goals. Still happy to win.

Am hoping after a nine day break can perform similarly to after our last nine day break against the Lions! Will happily accept any winning margin! Go Demons!

Agree, Melksham has looked a mile off AFL standard this year! Would have picked Dunstable or Hunt well in front of him.

Geelong have a big home ground advantage in narrow long ground and they have an amazing winning record at the ground in the last decade, hasn’t translated to a flag. They also get the umpiring in their favour at Cat Park! Teams don’t win premierships in July, maybe lose them if you drop 4 or 5 games in July! Tigers best year 2018 and they didn’t win the flag, they didn’t even lose to the premier - thank goodness! Demons need to play well enough to be top 4 and come into final series in good form, minimal injuries, then fingers crossed. Yes feels like we are not playing as well as last year, probably shorter pre season, more injuries, TMac out once he got going, but last year we also had our struggles. Still we sit equal top, so still a bit of time to find some form! September is when it really counts!!

JVR for Bedford, maybe Hunt in for Jordan out as personally feel his decision making is very slow, possibly a bit harsh but felt against Cats it really stood out(7-8 other players also had poor games against Cats) Move Gus back to wing and Hunt down back. Lots of commentators are still anti Demons, see last year as a one off. Not sure why, some obviously just don’t like Melbourne - Dermott & Ross Lyon at top of list. Imagine another reason is outright stating Demons are best doesn’t generate much excitement about what is to come. BBB definitely executes his role in team. If he gets a free every 2nd week (and he should number of times he gets blocked or arms punched vs golden elbows treatment of Hawkins) and takes one extra mark every 2nd week, should add to nearly an extra goal per week and everyone will be quiet about BBB! Last week he kicks that snap means 3 goals for game and everyone happy. He isn’t too far off solid form, hopefully it is training loads as he came home strong last year when he came back into the team.

Picked out four of the worst and we didn’t get any 50/50 freed. Unfortunately when you play interstate and the crowd is 95-5% or at Geelong, the home team will get the rub of the green 90% of games. This is frustrating but seems to happen whatever the sport - part of home ground advantage. what is annoying is the Dogs who seem to get preferential treatment, they are a high possession team so possibly related. On the other end of the scale is the Tigers and I think that is explained as they are the dirtiest team in the league.

Impressive to keepCrows to only 10-5 with their ruck dominance and 2/3 goals from umpiring. Demons all ground defence is terrific. Great to see Langdon up and running again and Trac also back to his best with a few goals. Very good win all things considered. Maxy back in side for Cats is terrific.
