  1. Surely we have decent cap space? Vince is on the way out at the end of the season and even then i doubt he is on massive wages. Also Lewis is done within a year or two. Does anyone have any sources as to what our players are on? I feel like if we are close to topping out our cap space with our current squad than that's a massive error. We overpaid for Lever yes, but our only star right now is Hogan and he isn't on a million a year. We should also be saving cap space for new deals for the younger potential players. It's noticable that with the new rise to the cap that Petracca and Oliver got new deals straight away.
  2. I've made the decision to stop complaining about selection.
  3. Watts played second string to Hogan and bagged 40 goals. McDonald played as an only tall, we haven't seen if he can work off Hogan.
  4. If we had Watts no one would be worried.
  5. The sports version of "Build it and they will come" is "Win things and they will stay"
  6. We couldn't offer Port anything worth while unless we dump Hogan. I accepted a while ago that Hogan was going to head home and then he went and signed a new deal, i think we should repay that loyalty and not force him out so we can get a new shiny player. I'd also rather save cap space so we can secure the guns we got already. If Petracca and Oliver continue to develop everyone in the comp will be throwing big money at them, so we need to be prepared. Finally, Tyson isn't an A grade midfielder, but he does work and seems commited to the club. You can't have 22 great players and i am quite happy with his contribution (Maybe he could kick a bit better) and i think he is in our best 22 everyday of the week.
  7. I'm pretty keen on playing finals, but in 10 years time we will probably be [censored] again. I don't let performances dictate my love or passion for the team. I'm sure we will play finals in the not so distant future and maybe even win one, but i sure as hell know it'll go [censored] up and will be down the bottom again.
  8. Gettin deals don holla at me
  9. They'll release another article about how Lever is a snake to cover this trade up. Is Roosy doing 'League Teams' again this year? I'm sure he will stir things up.
  10. Confirmed Jake Lever coming to Melbourne to become boxing partner for Nate Jones
  11. As much as i liked Goodwins adaptability in games, i often found our initial game plans didn't work and he was forced to change it. When we got going we played well, but we had troubles being consistent all year. I hope it's just a personnel issue and that another pre season with the current team and hopefully Lever as an addition we can move forward.
  12. We can't rely on Oscar down back forever. It's in the McDonald genes to roam forward eventually.
  13. https://imgur.com/a/Z0U72#bAJJSOz Hahahahahaha
  14. I'm assuming if it got to that we would do a million dollar deal for 1 year and then sign him down to a 3 year 750k a year deal aftr that?
  15. I'm confused about the whole going to the draft thing. Can't Lever just say no to any team that drafts him? Basically what Luke Ball did and end up at us?
  16. If reports are believed, they began to turn on each other at half time. This team had a pre game segment about how open they're to each other and how no team is as close. [censored] joke, you stick by your teammates to the end.
  17. Lever did say he only wants Melbourne. Now i understand it's not set in stone, but if he really wants us, refusing to play for another club and waiting to get picked up by us is a quick way to make yourself welcome to your new clubs fans.
  18. I think the fact we are looking at maybe getting pick 2 from GC is going to make them [censored] themselves. They'll bend on pick 10 and 27 or let him go for free and try hold the high ground.
  19. Just imagine if clubs decided to not be dicks about trading players. It's not like this is the first or last time a player is going to request to leave Adelaide. If you build a good relationship with different clubs, you could 1 day be getting a player who wants to come to you for unders. Even though i loved Howe and Frawley, they wanted to leave and i was happy to let them. At the end of the day the Football club will still be standing and we got to see Jayden Hunt and other young talented player come into the side because of it.
  20. I think he has 750,000 reasons to say that mate. If it was genuine, i agree, it warms the heart.
  21. I should've added that i don't full believe it, because who acts like that in real life. I'm just reporting it.
  22. I'd be angry if the club was incompetent and not thinking about the future of the playing group with this deal. However, since Jackson has been incharge i think the club has become rather stable.
  23. Has everybody seen the interview Kane Cornes did? Shows you how out of touch the crows are.
  24. Players have to earn the coin, also remember Nathan Jones, Bernie Vince and Lewis are all close to the end, huge cap room available if guys like Oliver and Petracca earn it. It's also one of those things in which you hope they buy in to the product, not the coin. I could see guys like Petracca and Oliver wanting big bucks and being tempted by different clubs. I don't see guys like Hunt or Gawn demanding big money, because i think they're really invested in the club.
