  1. I was referring to where we had Tyson on a wing later in the season. Original post poorly worded.
  2. Not that bizarre if you've been exposed to STMJ's posts for long enough
  3. Some nice food for thought here. I'd back Fritsch to become this player, although he may be 2 pre-seasons away from that I reckon. Can certainly see it happening though. Hannan is a maybe for mine, personally haven't watched him closely enough to decide whether he could be this player. Other two won't happen I wouldn't have thought.
  4. Which is almost ironic as global communication networks and mediums continue to increase I couldn't imagine throwing my toys out of the cot and wanting to go home to mummy if I were lucky drafted to a club away from my native Sydney and have a career as an AFL player. But then again, kids these days are getting softer and softer.
  5. Based on your online persona you are probably the last person on earth I'd enjoy having a beer with but you are 100% right here. I'll be keen to see Salem play whatever Tyson's role was/is after he is replaced on HB by some incoming bodies during the trade period.
  6. Given the recent track record of both teams football departments, I reckon we're better at identifying talent. If they say no and we say yes, that's more than enough for me.
  7. Spot on. Well said
  8. If GC FD doesn’t rate him and ours do, I know who I trust. This is the same list management that based an entire list off GAJ and has been a below average team it’s entire existence.
  9. I find he is seriously over rated on here. Decent player, hard at it but questionable skills. No big loss whatsoever if he goes but happy for him to stay, I’m completely indifferent to it.
  10. All this tax talk has me thinking. To any people here proficient in tax: Could a player set up a company, have their salary paid to the company - and then pay themselves a modest wage over a period of time to save on tax? In theory that person could buy assets under the company too, like houses and cars etc. Hello 30%?
  11. Hardly worth thinking about for 2018 - we got to the prelim anyway, top 4 mostly irrelevant at that point.
  12. I wouldn't be mad at that whatsoever. We aren't that much better off as a team with Hogan in. And he has some annoying traits that I would've expected to see him get on top of (stupid run up for set shots, whinging to umpires etc). May on the other hand will make us better immediately and may be a key for our shot at the flag next year. Fascinating stuff.
  13. They are playing in a GF. We are not. Seems a question for the sake of a question
  14. The Lake George hotel - Bungendore NSW
  15. Got a bit emotional reading this
  16. So nervous I had a longneck of Carlton in my hand by 11. Honestly if we don’t get up today I will be so proud of the boys and salivate at the thought of chucking hogan and lever back in the mix next year. having said that, there’s no guarantees we’ll ever be in a better spot to pinch a flag. There’s never any guarantees, look at Richmond. will be watching from my local pub in Bungendore with guernsey on and barracking like I’m at Optus. Go dee’s!!!
  17. Collingwood gee god boy wow
  18. Everything happens for a reason I guess
  19. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-09-21/the-behindthescenes-guy-who-rebuilt-the-dees Good article on a bloke who has been instrumental in our rise from the ashes
  20. Wonderful read. I reckon Goody is the right guy! (last time I'll reference that ridiculous thread I promise)
  21. In all seriousness, Perth is a pretty cool place. I worked out of the Swanbourne barracks in my army days for 3 years. Wonderful beaches (no surf tho) and good pubs (OBH and cott hotel are must-go's if your in town, beers while watching the sunset on the water is incredible). The city itself is underwhelming compared to Melbourne, although young whipper snappers would enjoy the nightlife in Northbridge. Wouldn't ever consider moving back but did enjoy my time there.
  22. I've seen a few junkys outside the Canberra probation reporting office that have more credibility than this website
  23. Smokeys guide to Perth: - Do not go to Perth, unless; - Demons are playing a prelim, in which case go straight from the airport and leave immediately after the game. Failure to do so may result in meth addiction.
  24. if fritsch out is true - it sounds like goody wants to go all-in on winning this game from the midfield ...
  25. Given our high pressure midfield game, I think there's something to be said for letting Hibbo be the intercept more rather than taking a tall 1v1. Our high intensity can result in average entires for the opposition team, so having Hibbo ready to chop is always handy
