I’m the same, family were all Bummer supporters and I sure they would be into him: as would Andrew McGrath from his old school.
    So, must keep!

Just so you know Adem Yze was a very keen Dons  man. However he finished his playing days as a one club player. 271 games.

I don't think Salem is going anywhere any time soon. However,  Interesting to see what Oliver is thinking. Hope he signs. Soon!

  3. I cannot see Bowey or Laurie and Rosman as permanent fixtures in 2021  Skills and speed with raw talent. We are not starting from scratch and not rebuilding as the players are there. If they are good enough they will earn it .

IMV our list is strong to do something special in the next two years and beyond we just have to get the mix right.

I like our picks in the draft this year and last year as well  and IMV our future  certainly looks good.

  4. Three consecutive home games  for Geelong at GMHBA Stadium rounds 21, 22 and 23 before the finals against the Dees , Saints and Giants.

What a set up. Well done AFL you are so Sly......... You are lower than a  pregnant Snake !

  5. The Fixture favours us However the West Coast away in rounds 21 and Geelong at the Cattery in round 23 would be our hardest apponents for the home and away games.

All in all looks good for us IMV.   There should be no excuses for some early wins.

I cannot remember the last time that we avoided a trip to Perth against the Eagles.

A must win for our Dee's, as already mentioned we really need to nail all our wins at the Gee, we don't want to be 6/5 at the half way mark I am expecting 7/4 or 8/3. let's hope that we can all get to the ground and cheer them on, I am hanging out to sing that song..!!!

I could imaging DZ that you would be the loudest singing the song after a win. However l wouldn't be far behind you there.

  7. Great l expect us to be off to a good start for the season with a solid win  against Freo.

Looking forward to playing on the Gee on a Saturday and singing the song  afterwards.

That will certainly make my day.

Working today but I listened in

"We're going to have to bowl them out for not much more than 220"

    Covered that spread alright!

All out for 36 is hard to fathom.

And now Kohli goes home ... hard to see India winning a Test from here on in but any prediction needs to be taken with a grain of salt!

Their bowling is very good but our attack is absolutely first rate

And we shade them in the batting playing on our home decks

Warner is still doubtful for Melbourne but what about Pukovski?  Wade?  Has Burns done enough in this 2nd innings to hold his spot?

A six to win the match!

Yep ! amazing win. Burns holds on this time for the next test well done to him. Wade ? I don't know with him possibly will stay in. Pulkovski will have to wait his turn and learn to duck and weave which seems his weakness however concussions won't help his cause for now.

I cannot see Warner missing the Boxing day test no way not him. Green will probably  make way.

All out for 36 who could believe it

Advantage India after 2 completed innings ... batting 2nd the Aussies probably needed a lead of 80 to push for victory

But we're 53 runs behind.  We're going to have bowl India out for not much more than 220 in their 2nd innings to stand a chance

Chasing anything above 300 against their attack (on a wearing wicket) is a big ask in my view

I hope you are watching Macca

  11. Kobe might not become as good as his Father however that is ok He would have to be special if he was to be as good.

If Kobe happens to be half as good then he will turn out an excellent player for our club.

I am hoping  that we pick him and lock him in and within time he will get bigger and we just might have something. l am sure he has good footy genes.  A Farmer running around at the Dees would be something special.

  12. I say this with a lot of hope and optimism  every year goes by is like a hand full of goes left to see us with the Premiership .

Held up high for all of the supporters to see. The group  has to be mentally prepared and that is our Achilles heel.

IMO we  have  the mix of the in our personnel. It just comes down to us in believing.....

There is no window..in my IMV  it comes down to the right combination and we have it.

Terrific player was JT, but RDB collected the 1964 Bluey on his way out the door to the Brown Paper Baggers.

I still think of 16 as Johnny Townsends number.

I wore that number 16 he was my favourite back in the 60s as a kid  proudly displaying the number on the back of my jumper wearing it to school. he was a fantastic rover and goal sneak. Won 2 Best and fairest   and one of them in 1964 our premiership year.

To be fair to Eddie he did put his heart and soul into the job and turned things around for the pies when they were in real trouble. Kudos for that.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to have a club president that is a media personality as well. Port just about get away with Kochie and even he puts his foot in it too often. But hosting breakfast programs and commenting on matters affecting other clubs is fraught and left Eddie open to the charge of hypocrisy too often. Plus Collingwood issues were magnified because he was always asked for a comment when the better course of action was to lie low.

I prefer the Bartlett model of media engagement. Stay in the background and only speak in public on rare occasions e.g. the spray he gave the team post the Port abomination this year. He hit the right tone at the right time. Over do the media exposure and his words lose impact.

You have a point however Eddie has his problems and can be outspoken.  He succeeded in acquiring. a permanent home base for his club and we are still searching.    Eddie got the job done and a Premiership in his time.

Dean almost cruised around and was still getting used to AFL before his career was over.

Over the years the Dees have not had much luck with "elite forwards' Injury snd other reasons have shortened their career so much so this I believe almost more than any other is a genuine reason Why this flag drought continues.

Examples of the above are Schwartz  Jurrah Jackovich Charles Farmer Dean Stephen Smith (his Hamstrings were dodgy )  Hogan Pike Mark Jackson a skinny tall player who kicked 6 one day surname or first name was Glen I think can't remember his Complete  name) .Other fans could add but I are just remembering while typing this post.

Biggest single factor was Schwartz whose 3 knee recos killed his amazing agility and movement. I will go to my grave confident that given a free reign from injury David would have been just as good as Wayne Carey and 1998 and 2000 and other seasons may have turned out different!

BTW Schwartz played in the Reserves (or whatever they were called ) and showed his skill so much so that I said to my family at the time he would be our next CHF.  We know his story and still feel for him as he was virtually cut Down in his prime but bravely played on really only a shadow of that 1994 glimpse.

Letssee what happens in the next 5 Years starting in 2021.

Glen Swan was his name and kicked 8 goals against Geelong in 1973. Only played 13 games . In that same game Robert Flower made his debut.
