Agreed. He’s such a consistent player, highly underrated IMO.

Either way, the two power forwards weren’t that bad for their first hit out. It surprises me how Jack and Houlli never seem to age. Hope our boys have that type of sustained careers.

Let’s say 2 of the 4 identified youngsters break out this year, this will only counter the fading Lewis and co, so what I think we need is for some of our mid-performance players to lift. ANB, AVB, Weid, Fritta, Frost and Stretch. If they do that, we’re home and hosed!!!

We now have a team that is likely to hit the golden 50-80 games simultaneously- this of course is a result of recruiting and assembling a team - of which - a few trades were required. Dunn and Howe were great players for the Dees, but the model for a successful, and sustainable future, required something different. I know I’ll get burnt for this but good on them, we’ll meet them again in the Granny this year so leave it till then to decide...

Yeah I got a reminder phone call from Nibbler last night, must say I was impressed.

While this is an absolute joke, I’m still very confident we can smash those mugs in Adelaide round 1 - they’ve got as many outs as we do.. Despite being total rubbish, the good news is that this decision becomes the basis for all future decisions on similar circumstances. i mean, how many times has claret copped unnecessary attention. It draws the line, a soft one yes, but one that the Dees need to consider before Rd1.

Good thing is that we’re ironing this stuff out early in the season, Clayton and Vanders were deliberate - good to send the message early. May on the other hand was just unlucky - probably should appeal..

If they were true leaders at AFL house, they’d all take the test in the interest of the game before the players and announce, yep this is what we’re about, this is what we believe in - well, true leaders that is.... ?

Wow, seriously? The AFL actually tested an idea in a practical sense before making the decision to act upon it????!!! (I’m actually impressed) In most industries we talk about: evidence-based, risk-informed, decision-making. im not sure which of the 9 or so rule changes have been thoroughly tested, or to what level of quality, but for the AFL to not solely act on a brain fart is comforting ?

A good reminder that our blessed FD have a great knack for desensitising/encouraging/passively making possibilities become a reality - all hail the Viney family!!! ?

Overall, despite the numerous engagements and holidays overseas, the births of children and dabbles into viewing other sports.. .. we’ve all terribly missed the mighty dees!!!
