  1. ely smith looks like a gun. i want him too.
  2. who said he was a replacement for a key forward...?
  3. if defensive pressure was a non-negotiable then why was hogan in the team...
  4. I'd take him. Forwards are there to primarily kick goals and menzel is a far better goal kicker than petracca. He's kicked bags against in the past.
  5. we still have a fair way to go. losing to wce by what really couldve been 130 points plus in the prelim
  6. you're talking about hypotheticals. At this stage, Lever and May have done nothing for our club.
  7. Agree. And i recall him kicking it on the full many many times last season so his true conversion is a lot worse than the stats say. DeGoey is one of the best players in the comp. He is a much more gifted player. His skills are elite and his speed is much better than Petracca. He is an absolute Jet whereas people are starting th get frustrated by Petracca missing shots on goal at key moments.
  8. C+ is about right. Overpaid for May and got unders for Hogan. Whilst bringing in KK who is fringe.
  9. are there any highlights of this kid anywhere on the world wide web? Cn't find anything on him. Frustrating!
  10. petracca could easily kick 40 but he needs to kick straight. One of the worst kicks for goal in the comp. Bad set shot and also bad snapping for goal. You almost can't play him f50m until he sorts that out.
  11. lol, have you watched all the tac cup games, national championships, and conducted interviews to come up with such knowledge of all the draftees?
  12. i really hope we get him. he'll surely be in the mix.
  13. Jay Kennedy-Harris. He is quick, skilful and applies defensive pressure. So it really depends whether bedford can stand up at afl level or not
  14. does anyone havea link to his highlights? he sounds like jkh to me. quick, skilful and a lot of tackles so id need to see him first.
  15. Mcdonald not Macdonald. Petracca not Patracca. Weideman not weiderman. Other than that, a good team! :)
  16. Stretch will only ever be a 22-25 player on our list. Disposals are poor and always have been since his draft year. A very poor ball drop.
  17. 1. Richmond (still probably the best team last season, just had 1 off night. Now has Lynch 2. Collingwood (Made the granny last year with injuries all season. Now has Beams for extra depth) 3. WCE (towelled us up badly and doesn't lose home grade advantage) 4. Essendon (I predict a big rise up the ladder. Came home strong in the 2nd half of the season and now has Shiel who is a massive inclusion. 5. Melbourne - Lever to miss the start of the season will hurt. Much also depends on Vineys ability to be injury free. Didn't add to our lack of foot speed through the trade period so Hunt needs to be best 22. If he isn't, Frost needs to replace Oscar Mcdonald so we have at least 1 player who can break lines.
  18. lever was out of contract when Mahoney coughed up 2 firsts
  19. i like the look of ned mchenry and i think jason taylor would too.
  20. that is a very Mahoney attitude. let me take over next trade period and i'll bring value in at the end of day, hogan was the most valuable trade piece who was IN CONTRACT and Mahoney still found a way to lose the power
  21. Yes, we got may. But any reason why we didnt demand 2 first rounders from freo and then offer the extra first rounder and a future first rounder for shiel? we couldve easily brought in shiel and hogan. and if freo didnt cough up 2 first rounders then we keep hogan and we're at no loss. mahoney couldve done a lot better.
  22. Ultimately, I see it as this. -we got unders for hogan. i could have lived with 6 and 19 as a minimum. Supporters wouldve been ok with hogan staying. - We paid over for may. Yes, he is a gun but will be 27 by round 1 and isn't worth pick 6. Supporters wouldve been okay with using it at the draft. KK may not even be best 22, same with preuss so they cant be factored into these trade evaluations. The only good think Mahoney did was keep vandenberg, everything else he did could have been done by your average demonlander. I honestly think i would've got better deals myself even after slamming down a few long island ice teas on trade morning. At this point in time, we've lost the Lever deal due to injury. but thats why you dont pay 2 first rounders for a guy who has done his acl before. And thats when he was out of contract and we were in a position of power.
  23. we all couldve traded for pick 6 and 23 so im not sure you have to be a genius to get that trade done. hell, i reckon i couldve got pick 6 and 19 through negotiations
