Very true, it is a very long season and when your not playing finals it seems too drag on, for me any way. I just have a feeling of eddie everywhere plotting something to sway Lever to the pies. I hope I'm wrong.

Was driving home last night and had SEN on the radio, OX and i think the guys name is Marco? Were both saying that players from both the hawks and cats took pay cuts for the side to stay together and win flags. OX said it's what good sides do, so if we want a flag/flags the club will need to work all this out, which I'm sure Jackson- Bartlett will be doing and doing well. Yokozuna is right if people don't want the club to pay Lever the big $$$ then we will just be a side who one will not win a flag and two we will lose players to other clubs because these days players have been given a choice to go to the club who will be prepared to pay top $$$ for them.

I think they tried a couple of years ago to trade Watts, sorry to say there was no interest at all, so i don't think he would be involved in the Lever deal.

I agree with what you are saying, it is a combination of all the above, i know the pies are a big club with money and i'm sure other things they can offer players; but the point i was trying to make was Buckley and how he publicly threw Mayne under the bus so to speak. I'm not sure how others feel about Buckley but i thought it was quite un-professional to do that to a player and it may just be me but if i was a player i would not want Buckley as a coach. I hope we are able to get Lever as well, I'm just hopping Lever see's a future with the Dee's more so then the Pies.

You make some valid points, how ever there is also one thing that has come into play and not that long ago, and that is Buckley's foot and mouth, he did not do any favours to both him self or his club by public humiliating one of his players, and what made it even worse Mayne's father not liking what he had to say as well. It could not have come at the wrong time of the year as well when the trade and draft periods are just about to start as well. Even one reporter said it might be best to keep Buckley a way from public speaking gigs over the next few weeks. So if Lever is only wanting money and wanting to put up with Eddie/Buckley and not playing finals for quite a while then go right a head. I know if my son was wanting to come back to Victoria and he had the option of choosing where to play i would be saying to him no money is worth playing under Eddie and Buckley circus.
