  1. Can you give a time stamp @McQueen? He'll be fine* *If the AFL see him as in genuine Brownlow contention and thus now protected.
  2. Bulldogs did everything to go to the opposite wing. Consequently Angus did a brilliant job under siege most of the night.... not from a stats perspective, but from guarding space, blocking contests. Actually, there were 2 moments for me when the ball was dumped kicked from a Dogs defender to just beyond our 50m arc and I knew that Gus would be there to intercept... and I just grinned at myself at the sense of comfort that even I as a spectator knew the system was working...
  3. Geelong are the sleeper...
  4. "No it was as comprehensive as it comes. You almost felt Melbourne knew they could break it open with insane pressure then backed their defence to absorb what we had after that. The played in phases and read the game situation brilliantly it was very impressive. Theyโ€™ve got the structure to go all the way, my doubts were off about them." The above is from a Dog's supporter... That's about as succinct as I could be. This is the way that the team rolls now. My emotions still haven't quite caught up to this truth...
  5. I doesn't make sense with respect to the rigours of concussion protocols, but I do wonder if they were looking at resting Langdon anyway... the footage of him last night showed him smiling and laughing with Sparrow.
  6. @sue, I just asked @binman the same q. However, I just worked it out, if you go back to the full game - it streams straight on from that now... so there is an extra 30 min to 60 min of post game analysis. Enjoy your Saturday mid arvo ?
  7. Thanks for sharing Binman, my name is Engorged, Engorged Onion to be specific, my descent into Melbourne Demons capitalist consumption began earlier this year. For many years I was apathetic to those that imbibed the content, mocking others that devoured the content and the impact it had on them, and their families lives. But now I am one of them, I have been so arrogant to believe I couldn't be touched. I'll try the strategy of 'First Crack' as well as making contact with this Leppa bloke.
  8. Secretly, I have been hoping one of Demonlands own, would take some photo's or video's when they are perched high in the stands and upload them as a public service to us all.
  9. Aside from Demonland and the afl website, on a Saturday morning, where do people like to get their post game info? What radio stations/programmes? What websites? The lid is off...
  10. Ahhh Goodwin and his belief of winning from the contest out is the game style that only stacks up in finals... Plan A.
  11. Normal service resumed (4-6 goal win)
  12. You sure mate? You seem to rag on most of your whipping boys throughout the game when you post on here.
  13. Just trying to be a ray of sunshine....
  14. Straw Poll 19 points up at half time against the top team.... Would you take it? without any buts??
  15. They stick in other contexts... but I get the point... I'm still hoping for the Max Gawn at Kardinia Park breakout, where he feels he belongs...
  16. 5 mark attempts, has crashed packs... 5 could have stuck another night. Takes a forward from TMAC.... a range of things he is doing that doesn't quite count on the stats sheet...
  17. Fair suck of the Saveriro Rocca mate... They're the top team... and a bloody good team too...
  18. mmmm drink beers and watch the game or drink beers and remain on this thread?
  19. Good positive chat as always Dr. Mind you, the medical profession does look at things from a deficit model.
  20. @kev martinjust to give some evidence around mid season form vs post season form. Don't believe the hype that this match has any bearing, any bearing whatsoever on either our's or the Bulldogs capabilities come September. Goodwin has built this side for finals... losses mid year will occur, 'competitive or otherwise'. Anyway, a bit of evidence of Richmonds GF winning years
  21. A nice article on the career trajectory of Darcy Parish - personally, I am very pleased for him. https://www.statsinsider.com.au/blog/afl/darcy-parish-and-why-waiting-is-the-hardest-part There is a nod to the acknowledged urgency that we all have as supporters, and the little leniency we give players at times. NB: This is not posted to start another trash thread around revisionism of who got the better draftee.... but...is he gettable ?
  22. Unleashing the Demon within: The inside story of Melbourneโ€™s revival
  23. Sorry @leave it to deever, this is an ambiguous cliche which in of itself is meaningless. Each team comes each week to knock the other team off... We start slow for a variety of reasons from week to week... but not - 'other teams are fired up'.
  24. Probably could have put this elsewhere. Not that it matters (aside from a groundswell of public perception driven by the media, that in-turn influences umpire vote giving ?) but it's nice to know that some sections of the media see that Clayton is 'criminally underrated'. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/it-s-bont-v-petracca-in-big-showdown-20210523-p57ud0.html
  25. It's human nature to be reactionary, and supporters are number one at this when it's such an emotional investment. We've lost a game by a point... By a team that has also beaten Geelong (a top 4 contender). Now if I was a Bulldogs supporter looking at the form line between the two, then it's lineball. But if I was an emotional supporter of the Dog's I'd be shirting bricks... Bulldogs Supporter Stream of Consciousness "Streuth, we've got the Dee's - they've just lost to Adelaide, they're off the boil and we have them on our home deck", but heck we're going alright...aren't we? I mean, our tails are up, we've dismantled the Saints, but only two weeks ago, we've proven we can't handle intense long term pressure, when we lost to the Tigers, with 4 of their best midfield out by 4 goals. We only kicked 2 goals after half time" "Actually, we only just snuck in against Carlton, after they dropped their guard in the final quarter" "If I was a Melbourne supporter, I'd say we're ripe for the picking after a stroll in the park against a weak St Kilda side". But..I'm an emotional Melbourne supporter - and I'll wonder out a loud and say things like Is Goodwin the right guy? Mmmm perhaps I'll start a thread on that one. Weideman has had too many chances, 6 years in the system and STILL has no presence Fritsch...yeah he's silk, but he is selfish and doesn't tackle and we need everyone to tackle, even if they're silk Gawn isn't captain material when he drops marks like that Lever and May are lazy/arrogant...heck they're both! Petty, should have been delisted Petracca just showboats We don't have depth Our issues haven't been fixed in all the time that Goodwin has been on as coach Did I mention Melksham should be dropped And if we have to bring in Jones from the two's then we have no depth. Like any match - it's essentially about the pressure that is brought... time and time and time again....and the odd call or non call from an umpire.
