  1. rather than an apology - a more constructive response would be answers surrounding - what happened... and actually detail it (rather than mediaspeak of we will review it) - and what steps from a physiological, psychological, structural and coaching perspective need to be addressed.
  2. Oh Melbourne...you do it to yourself...and that's what really hurts.
  3. It all makes sense now. We finish 8th - and play Port. Goodwin's tentacles run deep to Adelaide - they'll win. We also get Lever, and they get commensurate compensation. This is all about the AFL ensuring its the tightest end in years also
  4. Yeah, but maybe this is Goodwin's go to - he is working with what he's got - can't win when expected...Win in the finals when its not!
  5. Simon will say its all part of the journey An optimist will say, we're ensuring Buckley gets reappointed for mediocrity A pessimist will say - we're not comfortable with being favourites still... This particular realist says - 7-10th is about where we are, in a really really even year. Overall, behaviourally we (and all teams) struggle with sustained pressure - its how do we as individuals push back and regain composure under heat.- we're young (and some are old) and we're not great at it - and it will come in 2018 and beyond methinks. Little things affect our psyche so much - first goal to Jeffy would have helped the mood to free us up.. for the first qrt - was relatively even after qrt time. This was about the 10th defining game in a row - we've had significant injuries to significant personnel - I still maintain that this (in a sample of one) is disappointing BUT not indicative of the same old flaws... we can't help to buy into it when we care so damn much though.
  6. On a quiet note, I'm really looking forward to seeing Gus continue some great body of work - now that he has continuity.
  7. what a random random post - on a come down?
  8. It's hard not to buy into the last 9 years (excluding 2017's body of work) as evidence that we will somehow fall short - this is Goodwin coaching, this is the 2017 players group - not Bailey, Neeld, etc etc. We don't have Dawes, Gysberts, Nicholson, McKenzie, Bail . It's a competent coach, its a competent playing group. Dare I say it - Relax, we've got this.
  9. some dude on sen (yep can't believe i still listen to it every now and again) was banging on about 'bikie culture' is a loyal culture and he won't leave...fkn hilarious.
  10. Can we take a poll on how S.Goodwin is sleeping tonight...and what his dreams consist of?
  11. Rather than reliant on WC losing (which Adelaide are not helping) .How nice for genuine internal belief - for the lads to have to win the match on their own terms to make the finals, rather than the roulette of what WCE do.
  12. love the enthusiasm! @trakkkkkkkaaa - perhaps you can do a little spreadsheet of those that people want, and of those, ones that we may get, can get and don't get- based on all the existing threads...
  13. I've tried to clarify it via a number of predictors - what is the points margin that WCE need to make up to beat us on %. Cheers
  14. Yeah, but we're not the players! Also hardly a miracle - by my reckoning its a mere 40 point turn around from both games - a 3 goal loss to us and a 3 goal win to WCE see s them through...
  15. Im sure he does, but Im sure he is scarred of presser after presser from ALL AFL coaches saying one thing and meaning another. Goodwin doesn't do this - but it's hard to readjust if its just one...and its your own team...and you're anxious as [censored] for good news.
  16. No, we need need brothers. Brothers are heart felt stories that keep us warm in the dark dark winter months. September can [censored] right off
  17. I think I see where you are going - but jeez, thats harsh is my first thought...but if you're a stats loving man - there is a little bit of evidence to suggest similarities. 18. So this just popped up on the AFL feed http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-08-16/foundation-suns-forward-brandon-matera-set-to-seek-new-club I'd love him at melbourne - high half forward rotating through the midfield - outside class. We don't have much of that. He's different from Hannan, Garlett and Petracca. Troll away
  19. Named after that famous Melbourne and Fremantle player Jason eh? Morrish my friend.
  20. Has he had a breakout game yet? And what does that look like?
