You've warmed to Joel very quickly and adopted the "outnumber and spread" game-plan concept. Smart man! Not sure, as you're not, that Joel will be ready round one as we have three that have just made his job a lot harder, but I share your enthusiasm.

And I don't mind Sunday afternoon. We get good footy matches on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and then go to Etihad on Sunday. Great reintroduction to the footy!

Good luck Dunny, I'll miss the calls of "if anyone can Dunny can". You were never my favourite but you gave everything to the club and I wish you luck at the Pies.

There is a thread saying "Farewell Chris Dawes?". It doesn't take a genius to think he is in terrible trouble. Anyway you may think it's funny cracking the same "Chris Dawes has wooden hands and can't mark" jokes that have been floating round for 2 or 3 years but I think it's in poor taste to do so given his situation. Each to their own. As you say, you're not as bad as some, at least we can agree on that. Still giving GD the benefit of the doubt?

Your sense of humour is to make fun of someone who has just lost his AFL career? Funny indeed. Yes indeed, many worse things have been said but not as he's going out the door and relying on the fact that you're not as low as some is a poor defence IMO.

Whilst I welcome him aboard and wish him well he's got one mighty challenge in front of him. He left the most talent laden club in the competition to join another talent laden club where he is well down the pecking order. He'd have a much better chance of senior experience at some other clubs. But he will benefit from a fantastic teaching environment and if he succeeds we'll have a beauty because he is going to have to force out some serious talent.

The other things that give me confidence are that he has never relied on pace and I'm not sure he's got a lot to lose and he has always had that ability to find space and time through his awareness. His decision making is fantastic. It' a bit of a laugh when one of the best players in a four time premiership team who in the last three seasons has won a B&F and a second in the B&F is not welcomed with open arms particularly when we paid nothing for him. If he only plays two years it won't matter, he's a great get.

I can understand Hawthorn selling the farm for O'Meara (just) but can someone tell me why Geelong is giving up so much for Tuohy? Is he that good?

Name a high profile player who has been honest with their intentions prior to year end. Danger, Buddy, Chip, Scully, O'Meara. Scully is no different to all of them, was much younger and the subject of huge media pressure because GWS was going to be a first year club. Scully's decision was NOT just about money, it was as much about us as a club and those that don't recognize that are silly. We were dysfunctional. And I know one shouldn't Pizz on a statue, but the hounding of Scully by Jim was a meaningful factor in Scully's decision to move. He left, he made a totally logical decision to benefit himself and his family, we were over compensated and those that still hate are just haters and in my view misguided and silly. Scully is a large reason we are so bullish today and whilst he didn't do it for that reason I hold not one dot of malice towards him.

Demonland if I'm not mistaken I think you'd agree we should add Todd Viney to this list. Todd is in charge of list management and is largely responsible for the negotiations between clubs. Josh is great but like the pig who is accountable for the bacon, Todd is accountable for list management.

For those that think GD was lied to you realise your saying the Operations Manager of Brisbane lied to him and fabricated a story about a complex trade scenario and that the same scenario was verified from a separate reliable source. Personally I don't find that feasible, but each to their own.

I'll have one go RD. GD said the source was Noble, the Operations Manager at Brisbane. That is not a rumour, that is fact because Noble would know. It's not "a mate who knows someone". If Noble didn't know then GD made it up. If he just made it up himself it's not a rumour it's a fabrication and GD knows it's a fabrication. I like rumours, I don't like fabrications. And all I said is that GD either didn't respect his sources or was a troll. I think that is still correct. FWIW I wanted Rockliff but respect the FD's call.

I like your posting but this is a bit silly. Perpetual cynic? Do you accept everything you read? I just used a basic "smell test" and his rumour smelt off. As it's looking much of what GD has said is questionable about medicals etc. If I've got a view about the likelihood of something happening or being correct are you saying I shouldn't post? It's a forum for different views. I'll stand happily by mine as they look reasonably good at the moment. If Rocky comes to MFC and GD was right all along I'll recognize his information as correct and I was wrong. Won't be the first time and won't be the last. Where on earth is the "perpetual cynic" in that.

GD I frankly don't care if you give information or not. I'll know by close of business Thursday what trades we've done. I'd have had no issue with you posting your "rumour" but for the fact that you quoted sources that were so good the rumour couldn't be wrong. If you said you'd got it from someone else who was "generally right" I couldn't care less. If you can't understand the difference I can't help you. And by the way, for all those that don't like what I've done I've not sent one PM to GD and I'll happily stand by my approach to this. I've been too disappointed in the past by trolls putting hopes forward that I've subsequently found out were never even discussed and I questioned this rumour because it had all those hallmarks.
