  1. They all count for 4 points, it would be sweet and needed to keep us in the hunt this season.
  2. Great comeback quarter (premiership quarter), but can't stop there. We have all the momentum, just must close this one out.
  3. Great skippers goal. He has lifted significantly this quarter
  4. Have I ever said I like the boy Harmes
  5. Typically poor skills from Harmes with that pass to Jones
  6. Playing like such poop, the tide has to turn at some point. Still in the game and that Garlett goal with 4 seconds on the clock is nomally the sort we concede rather than get, so let's hope that's an omen.
  7. So here's an idea, give away 'a few' weekend in Melbourne prizes to interstate Members each year? Free flights, accoodation and premium tickets to Queens Birthday clash. Not talking out of any vested interest or anything.
  8. I know where you are comming from Dazzle, but to say that he was freakish does somewhat discredit his abilities. Jurrah did what he did with such repeatability that it was not fluke of luck. He had such great football ability, was so 'in-tune' with the ball/his surrounds and seemingly played with an inhabittion for possible failure it was such a beautiful act to watch. Should we start on his athleticism?
  9. The MFC has had so many great indigenous players over the years, I'm rapped that there is a special Rd dedicated to celibrating them and their culture. It hasn't always been a great story with respects to the inclusion and respect of indigenous people in modern Australia and there is still plenty of work to do in that regard, but in my lifetime, I've witnessed a precession of great indigenous players for the MFC that is well worth saluting for their talent, courage and character each year. Lovell, Charles, Farmer, Wheelan, Davey, Picket, Wonaeamirri... Jurrah! Loved watching these guys play, they always brought such great excitement to the game. Even Liam with all his cultural challenges and troubled off field life was a pure excitement machine and extrodanary on field tallent, who's record in the short time he played in the AFL is up there with the greats. Likewise wished that Aussie and Charles had have played longer at the MFC, because I think we only ever got glimpses of what they were and could have been. Our current indigenous players led by Nev Jetta and Jeff Garlett are such inspirations for all Melbourne suporters and such credits and great examples for their communities. Two words - love and respect.
  10. Ewwwww, too much information. I'm just sick of waiting around all weekend for the game. Hate these late Sunday afternoon games, give me a Friday night or traditional Saturday afternoon game time any day. BTW, I'm just checking Demonland right now while I'm taking a dump.
  11. A few of those 5 regulars are pretty handy though (particularly thinking of Gawn, T Mac, Jones, Viney and Watts). Does go to show how how long it takes to develop a good side.
  12. The reality is that the Tassie state government is presently proping up two Vic based clubs, so come the time, I think they could prop up one of their own. Whilst the TV viewer argument presently props up GWS, surely this tourism argument would help prop up a Tassie side, along with genuine local support. The argument of island locals already having an AFL team the followed was also put forward for the Crows and Eagles and look what happened there. Similarly, if Geelong has enough population to support a team, then surely there is enough between Hobart, Launceston and places in between. Would much rather there was a team in Tassie, where an Aussie rules culture and passion exists than the souless wasteland that is GWS.
  13. We've still got to beat a team that we haven't won against for a number of years, so let's do that and then worry about ladder pos. That said, we are capable and should get the job done. Come'on Demons, you've got me dreaming, got me standing on my feet...
  14. Your on my wave length Old Bear, don't know what we are both doing supporting the MFC, but goes to show how footy has defied the class system that once was. ...but what else would you expect from an ex garbo! Haha
  15. NOOOO, I didn't really see that coming at Qtr time Re the Pies. Really disappointed to see them get a win... but then on the other hand - they did beat Hawthorn and I feel sooo sorry for them and all their supporters thinking their season was on the rebuild (I still can't believe we lost to those F'ers). My biggest take out of the whole WE to date is that more than anytime, the MFC cannot take tomorrow'so game for granted at any stage, regardless of the score.
  16. Will this be GWS in 5 - 10 years time after all the concessions wear off and no one (including even AFL HQ) gives a flying F about them anymore?
  17. Come on Hawthorn, pull your finger out - I want @dl4e to get smashed... but not more than I want Collingwood to!!
  18. A beer for every goal at the difference at the end of the game!
  19. Quinella of sackings/resignations comming up (McGuire & Bucks) will make you smile ;-)
  20. I want to 'Press Red for Ed'
