  1. The guy genuinely thinks he is innocent. The club, the AFL and the AFLPA have told them the whole time that they are innocent, despite the fact that not one of them can say what the players were injected with (because the club obviously got rid of the records).
  2. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/subscribe/news/1/index.html?sourceCode=HSWEB_MRE170_a_TWT&mode=premium&dest=http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/jeffrey-browne-says-jobe-watson-should-be-allowed-to-keep-his-2012-brownlow-medal/news-story/aabec6e2b2b172d3683b11a60d6217ea&memtype=anonymous How about the other 600 clean athletes??
  3. Jobe should definitely keep his Brownlow though
  4. fahey goes whack Gold
  5. I just like the article because Hardie has been so biased the whole way and here he is saying that everyone knew what dank was doing (when the narrative has been that no one knew what dank was doing). Firmly put his foot square in it. Of course the whole club knew what they were doing. they knew they had to be quiet. they knew it was illegal. they all bloody knew.
  6. titus. Best one yet
  7. Did David Evans know about Essendon's performance-enhancing program? Heh heh whoops
  8. I'd rather we were able to list another rookie. The next 18yo Aaron davey might be out there
  9. Kochie? This is damming in itself.
  10. That's the exact reason the code is written how it is - that each athlete has personal and total responsibility to what goes into their bodies.
  11. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/opinion/essendon-doping-case-34-players-await-next-stage-of-saga/news-story/63741caa2d4aed085fe7796b742e13ad#load-story-comments
  12. Still can't get anyone to reasonably explain to me why the WADA code doesn't suit team sports.
  13. Just more propaganda in the fight to get the AFL to move away from the WADA code. dont forget - the code is there so that clean athletes can participate fairly and so that athlete health isnt jeopardised by ingesting unknown substances or unsupervised quantities of substances. Sound familiar??
  14. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-01-22/balme-blasts-wada-calls-for-afl-to-break-away "We shouldn't be part of the WADA program, that's my view, of course we shouldn't," Balme told Melbourne radio station SEN. "If we've ever had to deal with what WADA or ASADA do, it's almost a huge, political thing, that you can’t even fight against." Balme went on to question the credibility of the Court of Arbitration for Sport. "Well, who’s CAS? You reckon they are independent, who appointed those blokes?" Balme asked. "I reckon it might have been WADA or ASADA – they’re independent? "They’re not very trustworthy I reckon. Would this CAS mob be independent?" gee balmey - the players appointed one of those judges for a start
  15. or a Russian Athletics Governing body....
  16. also RE basic human rights The Clubs, AFL and players all agreed to abide by WADA rules and WADA Code protocols. The players when they signed contracts. If you sign up to something you agree to it. THE END.
  17. http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/essendon-banned-players-consider-appeal-to-swiss-court/news-story/6b81964bed44aeea6760ddada397f9e3 On about basic human rights and the fact that they shouldn't have been allowed to appeal to CAS except on legal error.... Which I thought is exactly what they did because the afl interpreted the standard of proof too highly
  18. IMHO this is all just a propaganda blitz in order to turn public opinion and government opinion against big bad WADA so they can convince the afl to move away from the wada code. And it's disgusting.
  19. Peter Gordon saying he will try and appeal because he agrees with Tanner that its a miscarriage of justice. Reckons the CAS report is full of "factual errors" etc ffs
  20. I'd have honestly thought there would be more than enough grounds for breach of contract from both parties and the players could just walk if they wanted to. If a club breaches the contract they shouldn't get any compensation Stuff letting them trade
  21. Completely agree they need top ups. I'm saying that dogs port saints and us should have been able to pick players too - and before essendon. I also think they should go after the premiers in the draft. Ie 18, 36 etc.
  22. Probably a 10 minute tribute to the 34 followed by 5 minutes about how good hird is Then the fossil will start up about how bad wada are and what a joke it is
  23. I do think we port and the doggies should have been able to recruit someone as well. Port effectively lose 2 list spots relative to the rest of the comp. They might have recruited 2 more rookies.
  24. You look back and don't trust anything he's ever said
  25. I've always thought Scarface would make for a tough back pocket
