  1. Just take a look at the list of players the survey offers under the question 'Who is the player you most love to hate?': Alan Didak Paul Medhurst Josh Carr Barry Hall Jason Akermanis Mathew Lloyd Stephen Milne Jeff Farmer Warren Tredrea Mathew Richardson Anthony Rocca Jeff White Russell Roberston Kane Pettifer Cain Ackland Brendan Fevola Jeff White!?! And most fans wouldn't know who Cain Ackland is. I for one didn't know he was still on Carlton's list until he popped up a few weeks back. And of the offerred players in the 'Who is the AFL's sexiest player?', Aaron Davey and Robbo represent the MFC.
  2. Dal Santo in a nutshell. We don't need another midfielder who isn't prepared to run back, work hard without the ball and man up.
  3. I'd actually like to see us go into a match with the same team as the previous week. I would however like to see Valenti get another go, probably at the expense of Yze. At least Sydney doesn't have the speediest of midfields, so our leg-speed shouldn't be as much of a concern this week.
  4. Just held a press conference and said that he has 'stepped aside' from the presidency, presumably until his trial is complete or whatever.
  5. I know nothing about Watts (is he related to Fergus?) but if by the end of the year if he is as good as is currently predicted, I would take him as a part of a solution to the forward line. But at the moment, Naitanui does more than play, he might get people into the ground to watch. In regards to Meesen, when he was drafted, we had pretty much the same ruck scenario as we do now (save for Spencer on the rookie list), so it seems to me as though he was selected knowing that we would, over the next few years, be looking to overhaul the ruck division for the future. So I don't think he will be cut this year. Who knows, until he gets out there and plays, maybe he will take PJ's spot.
  6. I know this would kind of defeat the purpose, but if we do end up with picks 1, 17 and 18, then maybe to get another first round pick we could do, for example, Green + 18 for 12. Although I think by pick 18 there will still be plenty of talent left, if someone would take 'player + 17/18' for a better pick maybe that's how we could it.
  7. I tell you what, I'm pretty frustrated. Not that I know of anything we can do about it. I just pray that Maric's groin injury isn't the beginning of a battle with OP.
  8. I do honestly think Bailey has a lot to do with this: whether it's his relationship with the players or just talent or whatever he seems to be getting the best out of players who didn't excite (Miller, Garland etc.).
  9. Shannon Byrnes was forced out with injury, so if he'd been fit it would've been Byrnes vs Prismall for the last spot in the team.
  10. Definitely Valenti because he deserves an upgrade from VFL Also Frawley - I see big upside in him and I think with a bit more strength he'll be good down back CJ and Buckley I think need to be retained in the seniors instead of one week AFL one week VFL. Both could add some speed to the team but neither have shown that they are long term prospects
  11. You sure it wasn't Bizzell's number? After all, they're both called Clint...
  12. Well I would say this week Whelan before Bell, but if Whelan doesn't give the team anything I would be tempted to put Bell back in (only if we needed a player like him) because he has shown he has ability and he has the benefit of age over Whelan. But yes, Bell's having a poor season.
  13. Especially considering where we got him in the draft (pick 60 or 70 something from memory).
  14. If you were going for a premiership in the next two years and one of the two had to be in the team, you would probably pick Palmer because he looks as though he's already playing his best football and he has no visible upside. If premiership success was a few more years down the road then without question you would take Morton. It's short term vs long term, and considering our position, we definitely made the right choice.
  15. So Pick 1 to West Coast for Pick 3/4 and Daniel Kerr? Shouldn't trade pick 1.
  16. Adelaide do have Brett Burton who plays like a tall and a small together, Essendon also has Lucas, so this trend of one tall forward I guess is prevalent across most teams except the Bulldogs.
  17. Just heard on SEN - with a guilty plea he can accept a reprimand Good news though is that Travis Cloke is out for 1 week for striking
  18. Exactly! It's his first year at AFL level, and already he's showing that he has the nous and smarts to match it with the best. What is really letting him down at the moment is his body size, which I reckon means he has to pull out of some contests or whatever and that has hurt his confidence to the point where it has affected his disposal.
  19. I agree Jaded. Now all we need is someone to help him out with the scoreboard...
  20. Like him except for his constant dummy-spitting and shouting at team mates. He surely must have been tempted over the years to leave Punt Road in search of a premiership, but to his credit he stuck around and didn't desert them when they needed him.
  21. The same thing struck me as odd as well deanox. What is to be expected of a match between 12th and 16th at what is essentially a neutral ground at the worst timeslot of the weekend? I would say that Richmond supporters were more at fault than Melbourne supporters considering Richmond members could have actually got in.
  22. I agree, I think even though Foley had 16 disposals he wasn't too damaging. If Dunn can learn how to be attacking as well as negating his opponent (which I think he is capable of) then he'll be a handy tagger, but I don't know whether the coaches will have the faith in him.
  23. Yeah I agree, I reckon he shouldn't go to Canberra next week. Give him and maybe Wonna a rest, let's be honest, we're not going to beat Sydney and these two definitely could use a rest.
  24. Really? Well I was only listening on radio but he got about 15 disposals and didn't seem to have much influence but if you saw him then fair enough. Did he play forward, because he didn't score?
  25. It's over now: Richmond 16 20 116 Melbourne 14 10 94 Well we weren't disgraced: Garland and Wheatley were good, Morton and Wonna were poor, Bode and Sylvia were unsighted.
