  1. And that's a good thing. Guys like JKH will need that pressure to make sure they work their backside off to improve and make themselves a best 22 player. Having guys like him, ANB, Stretch etc as guys ready to come in to the side is infinitely better than what we had previously.
  2. Prove her otherwise then. Quayle is generally spot on and doesn't just put out tripe like guys like Clark or Ralph. She is always on the money during these times of the year, so forgive me for doing so, but I'll take her word over yours.
  3. I've never claimed to have inside info for anything, ever. I could have quoted her, true, but I wasn't making out as if I had any sort of inside info about the club.
  4. Emma Quayle tweeted it herself. You would think she knows more than you. Again, jog on.
  5. And you know better, do you? Jog on.
  6. Well worked out Sherlock. That's exactly what I said.
  7. What we need to remember is that Toumpas was a Neeld pick. He was the bloke who was keenest on him, so it's not surprising how it turned out. Our recruiting team was very keen on Kennedy to the point that, had Toumpas gone to GWS, we would have taken him at 4 that year. We've seen them make some excellent drafting decisions over the last few years, so if they believed he was that good then I'm more than willing to get behind it.
  8. That would be a stupid decision. So we hold firm and get nothing instead? Our club isn't in a position to do that. We got what he was worth.
  9. Well said. I couldn't disagree with that. But it does give us plenty of flexibility and the potential to have some damaging players forward of centre who possess great pace and good defensive abilities.
  10. Interesting quote from Mahoney as well. Seems we aren't done yet. “By packaging up the Howe and Toumpas trades, it has allowed us to get the best overall net outcome for the club. It also gives us the picks needed to facilitate further trades before Thursday’s trade deadline.
  11. Just been confirmed on the official twitter handle of the club: In: Kennedy, pick 29 and 50 Out: Howe, Toumpas
  12. Ben Kennedy, to me, is a direct replacement for Dean Kent... in that we can now release someone like Kent to play through the midfield where he can use his left foot as a weapon on a consistent basis. Having Garlett and Kennedy roaming around at the feet of Hogan will be terrific going forward, just as the Melksham deal gives us the flexibility to move Salem in to the midfield as well. He and Kent hitting lace out passes to Hogan will be a joy to watch next year.
  13. He nominated the Pies. The GC deal was done and dusted when he did that. No chance that deal was ever going to happen after that.
  14. It was a pipe dream the moment he nominated the Pies. Once that happened the deal was over with GC.
  15. Howe has been an average AFL player and Toumpas has played one good game. Yet all of a sudden we should be getting 4 second rounders, 3 players and a partridge in a pear tree. Plus the deal isn't even finalised yet. The only person who has put something out there is Anderson. I'll still back the FD.
  16. It hasn't officially been finalised yet but it seems as though as if it isn't done tonight it will be the first one tomorrow.
  17. I think so too, but GC gave him up very cheaply, so I wonder if there is a little more to it.
  18. It'll be a second rounder and Kennedy for Howe I think. I'm only speculating on that though as I can't see other ways for it to get done.
  19. Bingo. If they are happy to package 2 players together for a third round pick then it gives you a good idea of how they rate them.
  20. Are we still a chance to land Dangerfield....?
  21. Looks like The Pies will get Treloar and a 2nd rounder for 2 first rounders and a late pick. I'd suggest that the second rounder they get in return will be part of the deal for Howe.
  22. Jay Clark has mentioned it as a possibility, but that was 2 days ago. Nothing set in stone regarding those picks.
  23. Whoa, hold on there P-man. This is Demonland, where we write off players based on watching a half of football or salivate at their potential... which has never translated at AFL level. Your complete use of logic is not welcome here!!!
  24. And if that's the case... then he's best 22.
