What we need to remember is that Toumpas was a Neeld pick. He was the bloke who was keenest on him, so it's not surprising how it turned out. Our recruiting team was very keen on Kennedy to the point that, had Toumpas gone to GWS, we would have taken him at 4 that year. We've seen them make some excellent drafting decisions over the last few years, so if they believed he was that good then I'm more than willing to get behind it.

Ben Kennedy, to me, is a direct replacement for Dean Kent... in that we can now release someone like Kent to play through the midfield where he can use his left foot as a weapon on a consistent basis. Having Garlett and Kennedy roaming around at the feet of Hogan will be terrific going forward, just as the Melksham deal gives us the flexibility to move Salem in to the midfield as well. He and Kent hitting lace out passes to Hogan will be a joy to watch next year.

Howe has been an average AFL player and Toumpas has played one good game. Yet all of a sudden we should be getting 4 second rounders, 3 players and a partridge in a pear tree. Plus the deal isn't even finalised yet. The only person who has put something out there is Anderson. I'll still back the FD.

Looks like The Pies will get Treloar and a 2nd rounder for 2 first rounders and a late pick. I'd suggest that the second rounder they get in return will be part of the deal for Howe.

Jay Clark has mentioned it as a possibility, but that was 2 days ago. Nothing set in stone regarding those picks.
