  1. I don't think the game changed much with the implementation of 666. It didn't need to change, either.
  2. We didn't need 666, so I have no idea why we need to take it any further. Just leave the game alone. It's fine.
  3. Until his next game, when he doesn't play well, and you claim he should be delisted at season's end!
  4. An absolute disgrace. Brown threw his arms up, fell over and sucked the ump in.
  5. Currently just 8 shots from 21 inside 50s. It ain't that great.
  6. You follow me round like a bad smell, Bob. You ignored the copious other posts this weekend where I did discuss the game, then? Unless you want to engage in some footy discussion, grow up and move on, because I won't waste my time on you again. Life is too short for people like you. Cheers.
  7. You'll also notice that our old mate has also been absent after our first victory of the season. He only shows up after a loss. How sad is that?
  8. So you stand by your bagging of him, even though a few posts ago you asked 'where did I bag him'? That makes a whole lot of sense.
  9. Yep. It was great to see. Not sure if it was picked up in the team song vid on the website, but Oliver, Gus and Trac all embraced together straight after the song as well. Couple that with how every player got over to Goody after the siren and you can see how much they enjoy playing for Goody and as a team. It's the one thing that helped me keep the faith, so to speak. We still need to back it up in the coming weeks, but I feel like the 'old' Melbourne is back.
  10. He has had some poor games this year, but I thought he did alright last night on Buddy. Made one kicking error and let Buddy out on the lead a little, but at no point did I feel like Franklin was going to rip the game apart. That is down to a combo of his form, plus the job Frost did on him. I think he deserves a little credit for that.
  11. Lewis will come back in. Mahoney, I think it was him anyway, said he would have played this weekend if it wasn't a Thursday game. With a longer break they might get Jetta back in the side too. I'd save Steven May for ANZAC Eve. Give him as much time as possible to ensure he is ready to go.
  12. That's harsh, but true at the same time. They were terrific tonight though and showed how important they are for our depth.
  13. @Sir Why You Little - he kicked those three goals for you.
  14. And THAT is the Melbourne way. The pressure and two way running filters through the whole side and we work as a defensive unit. Granted, it's a high risk one, but when we do it and do it well it is very hard to break.
  15. I am so proud of the boys tonight. I've almost got a tear in my eye. We've been smashed from pillar to post these last three weeks, some of it warranted, some of it over the top, and when the Swans got 20 odd points up you could argue that we were in big, big trouble. But we didn't panic. We went back to playing the Melbourne way. We hassled. We tackled. And by God we took our chances. This was a modern Melbourne performance and you could almost sense, when we got up, that we weren't going to give it up. The one person I want to single out is Nathan Jones. Under the pump from all and sundry, he steps up to kick three crucial, captain's goals to help us win this game of footy. How bloody good is it? Right the man off at your peril. I also thought Marty Hore, another to cop it on here, really stood up down back, particularly early. Also to Frosty who did a pretty good job on Buddy! But stuff it. How good is it, everyone? I love this club. We have won this game when, with the injuries and the history against the Swans, we had no right to win it. As I said earlier, it's shades of the '98 game over in Perth. Kudos to the coaches, players and everyone else involved for lifting and keeping our season well and truly alive. And I'm proud that I never lost the faith! DEMONS!
  16. Had a bit of a shocker. I've felt Frosty hasn't been too bad so far tonight, apart from one kicking blunder. He has generally done some good things down back.
  17. Yep, it's what has me quietly confident for the second half. They lifted in that last ten minutes, so hopefully that has given them confidence. I agree with others that we have been well beaten in some areas tonight, but the fact we are still in it is a real positive. Our forward line has looked much more open which has allowed us to kick more goals and have those opportunities. If the three you mentioned above continue to lift then we can get more of those chances in the second half.
  18. Our third terms have been our achilles heel all season. You could argue, on the scoreboard anyway, that we've still been in the contest for our first three games at half time and fallen away badly after that. We need to turn the tide this week and come our firing.
  19. Well, what to make of it? I thought we were done 10 minutes into that term and then... we just clicked a bit. We tackled harder, won the clearances and, for the first time this season, took our chances!! What it means is that we are well and truly in this contest. If we keep up this hard work then we are every chance.
  20. Three goals from the captains this term. Brilliant stuff!
  21. He has been too good for many key position players for a long time. Can't blame Frosty for that one.
