Congratulations to Simon for achieving the 100 game milestone...... His heart and his attitude should never be undervalued, despite his faults and the criticism he attracts. He has always done the best he can for the Dees and that should be recognised and remembered. So well done to Godders :D !!!

Add me to the "HELL NO" list.......

Boy, they can sneak up on you can't they...... Just when you have let your guard down and least expect it !!!

I'm thankful that so many here said "no" to this........ Because Thomas would seem to be a hell of a sacrifice for one player that is not as currently fantastic as everyone says he is. I am not sure the trade off would be in Melbourne's favour, as good as Reiwoldt could (can; will; should, whatever) be.

Good grief he had enough troubles within his own code !!!

An open letter to Paul Gardner
QueenC replied to Jonesy is the next captain's topic in Melbourne Demons
And this will also hopefully be a huge incentive to get the best possible replacement coach that we can....... I don't think anyone here dislikes Daniher, Bandwagon, nor do we want him to be treated unfairly, but the reality is that after ten years with no flag, and truth be told little influence in the finals that we did make, not achieving expectations, yo-yo form (both from year to year and within a season) and a genuine feeling that there is something missing within the group of players that he has assembled, the time has come when a change is necessary for both the man and the club. I have always been a fan of Daniher (and today does feel a little sad), you can't help but like him, but you do reach a point when the only way forward is to make the break, and that has now been done with plenty of class and dignity from a man I would expect nothing less from. Gardner has done what he and his advisers believe is in the best interests of the club. And Neale can hold his head high and be thanked sincerely for his hard work, but it is simply time for a change. And change doesn't have to always be a negative, and hopefully this particular one won't be. For either party !!! -
Contenders for the Dees

Table for three ?!!!

Sorry Dan, I'll be careful that it won't happen again !!!

Yep, them as well !!!

Is Voss the right call? Who the hell really knows, but his appointment would be a very bold move from a club that is not particularly well known for making them. And sometimes you have to take a chance and roll the dice. I would not mind Voss, despite that niggly feeling regarding his lack of experience, but I cannot imagine he will be appointed without there being a thorough investigation into any and all available people who would be capable of doing the job.

NEALE DANIHER - TO FINISH AT END OF THE YEAR
QueenC replied to beelzebub's topic in Melbourne Demons
Its a weird feeling isn't it Nasher? There's definitely not a great overwhelming joy, just a resignation of the reality of the situation. I think that feeling comes from the fact that despite all our whinging about Neale's coaching competency, most, if not all, of us liked him as a person, and realise that he has been good for the club in the face of some tough times, he has worked his tail off as our coach for a long period of time and done his utmost to sell the MFC brand, therefore trying to do the best he could both on and off the field for our beloved Demons, just to unforunately come up a bit short. -

NEALE DANIHER - TO FINISH AT END OF THE YEAR

Well said Maurie, I couldn't agree more....... Daniher has always been a good person, and most definitely did the best thing he could. As Maurie said he did the honourable thing. And as such I want to wish him all the best for whatever he chooses to do in the future. He has worked hard for a long time for this club, and that should never be forgotten in the face of criticism over where we find ourselves now. A change is what seems to be required for both club and coach, and hopefully both can move on without recrimination. So to Neale for all the years of service we should say thank you, and we can be grateful that we now have the opportunity to move forward. -
I get that distinct impression as well bub..... Plus I am not sure how the Pies would take it if we started talking to a still-contracted player about any position within our club. Whether or not he would be a good coach is almost irrelevant if he is still under contract to Collingwood and has no intention of retiring. And on the retirement front we are all just speculating ........

Seroiusly, who knew there were so many of us in here ?!!! I signed up because being in Sydney there is nothing written about, or talked about in regards to the Demons in the press. So I went to find somewhere I could get a hold of Melbourne news and views and, well, here we are...... And just the record leucopogon, I think you will find all footy fan sites have particular divisions over certain players and the coach !!!

I am with you Jarka, its amazing really isn't it......

Apparently it was some kind of event at the club that started after midnight, he went with his girlfriend and allegedly left at 3.30am...... Honestly this is a ridiculous beat up over nothing, maybe it was not the most prudent thing to do, but he is still allowed to live his life, especially since maybe now he actually has some control over it again. If he does nothing wrong, which he apparently didn't, who are we to judge. And I am with Madness above, that is an unbelievably reprehensible thing to say. Get over it. Nocturnal Cousins a non-issue

My vote seems to have blown this number out to seven :D !!!

Telstra Dome Friday Night - Are you going?
QueenC replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would love to be there as this game is the personal bug in my house....... My brother is a Bomber and things can get very unpleasant. The thing is I would really like it to be unpleasant for him, and not for me !!! -
2007 has been awful for and from Hall (maybe he never recovered from last years final and all the criticism he copped)...... And the Sydney press, who have been blowing smoke up his arse for a really long time now are starting to get more than a little a narky about him, his form and his attitude, as well as the whole Swan win-loss situation. They aren't handling it at all well, poor little things !!! But we should all know better than discount the man or the side.
