Hard to get a gauge on Geelong, but they have two big forwards in red hot form. Shut them down and we are in. Geelong is my most hated side ever, I just cannot stand them or their coach.

But they won. Brisbane kicked 10.18 from memory and Eagles gained a few players back finally. Brisbane and Geelong are doing OK.

Brisbane and Geelong should be loading as well, they seem to be going OK. Time to stop the excuses and start digging deep when the heat is on.

I'd hardly say our season was soaring at all, we have just been getting the job done all year. We were 31pts up on Fremantle, 26pts up on Sydney and 22pts up on Collingwood, so clearly we aren't that far off. The goals seemed to have come against when we were stretched by talls in defence, ie; Petty going off the ground multiple times, Lever and the absence of May. The concerning part for me was when it happened, the players dropped their heads and didn't dig deep and fight back. We have a couple of key outs, but our depth should be able to withhold it, lets see how we run out games after the bye. Also just on that, we didn't get much of a break with the bye, an extra 2 days?? total of 9 all up. Must win this game for a confidence point of view, need to finish top 2.

Perhaps just the much later start to pre-season?

Unsure about loading, as I have no proof its even happening. However, we did start pre-season very late after the GF. Could have a lot to do with it. Combined with the above possibility of loading and injuries to key talls, we just have to ride it out and hope we freshen up after the bye. It still doesn't excuse the habit of old bombing long manically into F50. We need a lot more from Petracca, Pickett, Jackson, B Brown, ANB and Lever though, some have had very underwhelming years.

Underwhelmed, seems like more spin from Pert. 2021 is a big big year for this footy club.

Narkle, Clark and Constable (is he still there?) are of interest to me from Geelong.

Everytime I watch him the ball bounces off his hands when trying to mark.

We would have ruined him anyway and he would've been delisted, don't panic.

He even looks like a professional senior coach!

The former I feel, hence one of them is about to be booted (maybe).

Whatever happens here, I hope Goodwin swallows his pride and ego and listens to Yze's strategies.

This club has lost the plot.

Richmond also had Rance, Cotchin, Riewoldt and Dusty and a coach willing to change and listen to other people's ideas.

I do feel that the club has drank its own bathwater and as I said at the time, paying Lever $750k would have had players scratching their heads, I didn't think he was worth that (and picks) at the time and I certainly don't now, he has youth on his side though. Combined with May $700k who apart from the last half of this year has been a failure and Tomlinson $500k? It's decisions like this that can unsettle any workplace. I'm unsure whether the rumour is true or not, but they generally don't just spark up without some kind of smoke. As I've said for two years, I don't see what direction the club is going under Goodwin, if he weren't all chummy with the players I'd doubt he would continue, there is currently no direction and we've lost some of the best teachers as assistant coaches in the last few years. I do hope that whatever review they are undertaking, if at all, covers potentially our best players wanting to leave and why.

Must say, if Oliver leaves, or wants to leave, it stinks and confirms that he doesn't see a good direction for the club imo. This is also on Goodwin. One of the more skilled players we've seen in a long time, having said that, I feel he has stagnated a bit last couple of years also.

I don't see how this "internal" review is any different to any other club or any other team, it happens across any organisation. What we want and need is an external review, done by non melbourne, non bias industry leaders. I don't see what the beat up or surprise is currently, we've changed things around each year and still Goodwin spits them all out.

I think he should be sacked. The club can still assist his mental health on the side if need be. Under no circumstances do I want the club to keep him because "they feel sorry for him." He adds very little and the trust is shot to pieces. We move on in an endeavour to become a ruthless club. Thanks but no thanks, seeya.
