Phenomenal we were still in the game? We almost doubled their inside 50s. We should have iced that game before half time, but we gave them a sniff.
-
Hogan barely flew for a single mark tonight. Watch the footage from fox footy. We all know he is capable, but he was nothing short of a liability tonight.
-
Our game plan is taxing Andrew ultimately inefficient, especially faints decent sides. I honestly would be shocked if a side has ever lost after dominating inside 50s like we did tonight.
-
Top 4 going to be very tough from here. We should have won that game comfortably, but again, my questions around our style of play from earlier in the year reared their ugly head again.
-
Umpires were not the problem tonight. Anyone who thinks they were is just deflecting from our actual shortcomings.

4 points in the bin

Good footage of Hogan on Fox Footy not flying for his marks. It was his main skill in his debut year.
-
Big half for Goodwin imo. He has a team cracking in, and if he can figure out a way to goal, we win.
-
Bloody hell, hard task master. One and a half quiet games for a player on track for AA and you want to give him the punt. in all seriousness, tonight is the exact night I want to see some of those big contested marks from him we saw in his first year.
-
Intensity, great. Delivery and efficiency inside 50, woeful. I keep hearing we play a finals brand of football, but we need to see how we are going to kick goals against good teams.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Forest Demon replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not a Lewis fan, but thought he was good today. I've said it all year, but either he or Vince has to to go. As it stands, I'd swap Vince for Hunt in a heart beat. -
The frustrating thing is his contested marking was what shone through in year one. As good as he is playing, it is all based on working over his opponent, but id love to still see some of those big contested marks. Like TMac.
-
And to add to that, I actually think he is better in the midfield. His best footy earlier in the year was in the guts. Much like De Goey today.
-
His first handful of games this year were actually really good. He was in the coach's votes most weeks, so in the best few players on the park. But he has stagnated since. He still contributes a bit, but not enough, especially compared to what he is capable of.
-
Disagree. Defence was under siege and he showed really good cloaing speed and took a couple of good grabs.
-
He was great today. We put all our eggs in the OMac basket and it has actually been going ok up until today.
-
Seem to be a mixed reaction at Joel Smith's game, but I personally liked what I saw. When you think he has only played a couple of games, I think we need to leave him in for at least a month. He has a lot of the right tools, and I could see him being an important player come the end of theaeason if we are still in the mix.
-
Tom Lynch? I take it the poster hasn't watched the last couple of suns games? His "attitutude and performance" has stunk. He has already mentally checked out.
-
Hogan has had a great year, but TMac is currently the better player because of his contested marking. Hogan's contested marking was off the charts in his first year, but I feel like he is spending more time collecting possessions via his workrate, that his big marks have dropped off a bit.
-
Matched in tight and hammered on the spread. The same question marks from earlier in the year are still there against decent opposition.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 11
Forest Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Better late than never... 6: Jetta - by a mile, what a game 5: Oliver - can't take him for granted 4: Brayshaw - in amazing form at the moment, love his ability to kick either side of his body 3: Hogan - having a ripper year and in the hunt for the coleman 2: TMac - we are a much better team with him in it 1: Gawn - could have been higher if not for his kicking, particularly that one at goal Fritsch unlucky Salem and Lewis were both effective off half back Melksham did well to battle on despite injury -
Bummer that it looks like a long term injury for Lever, but at least we have plenty of options. I suspect it will be Joel Smith.
-
That would just about be a movie length production this week!
-
What an amazing performance. We are in a serious run of form at the moment. I thought our game plan was unsustainable and too taxing, but we seem to have struck a sweet spot recently, especially since TMac has been back.

If we can't beat the Doggies next week, something is wrong. They were absolutely awful. Someone mentioned it above, but they did not take the game on at all, even when down with a 10 minutes remaining. If they play that rubbish, we will eat the alive. Collingwood didn't impress me too much either tbh, but clearly a better side than the Doggies atm.
