Steven May's Future
Sorry Binman while most of your posts are very astute and well informed you've made a few contradictory comments here. Jeffo when last dropped had actually played his best string of games. Tmac being dropped was playing well. So he was dropped out of stubbornness to play Lever. Fritta while ultimately dropped should have been done at least three weeks prior to when he was. Jvr see Fritta, if not more so. Windsor too. Then we have Petty played out of position for two years. Laurie as the sub for Gus after Maynard knocked Gus out. Laurie had played five games and some as a sub . And then picked in a huge final. Grundy excluded from finals. He was stubborn. Or at the very least reactive instead of proactive. As one example, Turner would be moved fwd after the game was often done and dusted. There are others. Your deference and support of a premiership coach is commendable but I think his inflexibility was part of the reason he was finally removed. He did try Rivers in the middle and a few other things but he wouldn't take big gambles like moving KP to ff or Jvr in defence. The st Kilda game debacle was a great example. He did nothing. We all just watched as if in slow motion and Goody seemed like a deer in headlights. I think that was the end of him.

For Sydney Based D’Landers or Those in Sydney Late August or Mid September…
Mate.....courage comes in many forms. My wife had serious breast cancer and didn't say boo to anyone about it. She was in intensive care three times because the chemo almost killed her. She had to stop taking it after only three goes. That was 16 years ago and she still never mentions it. Your attitude doesn't seem too dissimilar while staring down this disease. That Hardtack, like my wife is the personification of courage, fortitude and stoicism. Trust me mate.....your braver than most, even if you don't see it yourself. Please post any YouTube links of your gigs/ music. It's a great gift to have and I imagine, that is great for one's mental health. All I can play is a mean set of spoons and sometimes the fool. Look after yourself. Despite us not playing, try and enjoy the finals anyway. Maybe pick an underdog like Freo. Or simply rejoice in seeing the crows and pies get knocked out. The latter for me, helps ease our poor season and I long for the day Maynard gets some payback. But I'm not vindictive. A few broken limbs will suffice. All from football acts of course.

Nonetheless Hardtack you have my sympathy. I wish you all the best in your treatment. I applaud your courage and wish you a great outcome.

NON-MFC: Round 24
What gets me is all the spin from everyone in the club is that he's deeply sorry and will accept whatever comes his way. Then they fight it tooth and nail. What a load of...

POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
Fritta is definitely a keeper. Sparrow definitely not. Fullerton and Laurie goodbye but yep let's give Jeffo a chance. I mean Jvrs played over fifty games.

My 3 word player analysis V Collingwood
Excellent final analysis. I thought Turner wasn't too bad and Tmac wasn't great. Melksham has always been inconsistent. Has moments of brilliance and despite a resurgence in the last couple of years has still drifted in and out of form. May has been great but your probably right in having him hang up the boots. If Pickett was as good in the first half as his second we would have won. We were smashed in the middle in the first two quarters. Chandler starts seasons well but gafes away. Although this year was probably one of his better ones. Its time for Petty to go to the backline with May possibly leaving. He has improved fwd in the last three weeks and he started on fire with three marks and three disposals in the first only to have just one mark and disposal for the other whole three quarters. Wth? Our tallest fwd. My goodness. Oliver was back in all his glory almost. And Salo not far behind. Rivers stormed home. Tracc looked intimidated by the pies and probably for good reason but he butchered it frequently. Despite losing what we should have won, it was after the disappointment has worn off, a valiant effort. Just a shame we soiled ourselves in the final ten minutes. I hope that's the last you have to mention Sparrow whose constant selection exposes a critical lack of depth. Thanks for all your insights this year JB.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I have no real idea but when Melksham retires, I hope he stays as some sort of forward coach.

Footballers PTSD
The situation is quite simple. 0ver five decades without a flag molds ones thinking and expectations into constant failure. It permeates the supporters... players....and all at the club. It was miraculous to turn it all around. After four years of winning most games including a cup, we had come to realise and taste what so many other supporters of other clubs have eaten. Now that the menu has reverted to a select few courses of inaccuracy....poor fwd entries......fwds that can't mark .....mids who turn the ball over frequently and players who just aren't good enough, it's very hard to swallow. Success is a wonderful thing until its gone. And we as supporterd who have had so little felt like the sun shone only on us. Now the darkness is back......it seems blacker than usual. The issue is, how long with this period last?

POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
I don't get the bombing. Particularly because our talks are Petty and Roo. The Pockets work with the others but it's a lower percentage and maybe reflected in our.missed shots

Let us not speak of this season ever again. Last night summed it up. I hop we get a stack of new players with our new coach and not rejects again from other clubs.

NON-MFC: Round 24
Oh yes. I forgot about Wednesday's game. I hope it's a fair game. 33 to 16 free against the GCS at Adelaide in ports favor stank of fixing. It was just the lopsided number. It was the unrewarded tackles.... inconsistent calls.....not 15s.....where they were always paid. It was close to the Kings bday game for us. Close I said. Thanks heaps for reminding me.
