Time to go Goody?
I know I said I'd take a break from DLand and I'm trying. But I must say our club as best as I can sum it up is... BROKEN. 1......To have three years of diabialical goal scoring issues. 2.... Players complaining in public about the club. 3....Recruiting players like Billings, Fullarton , McAdam who have been on the list for a while now but haven't offered us much. Schache a prime example. We kept him for years but rarely played him. Probably for good reason. But why did we keep him around. ..Goodys insistence on playing Petty fwd when last year with twenty games, kicked a goal every fortnight. 5...Playing games in Nt where we lose and are not crowd favorites. 6...Dropping players when they are in good form for players not in form. Tmac for eg. ( It reminds me of Adam To..) Goody is very slow to make changes during a game. .Our meekness to not just once come out and call the umps out for the disgraceful pies game. ..Our fwd line delivery especially given our failure to recruit enough big body old fashioned style full fwds that can take a pack mark to suit this. I'll say it again because the club doesn't seem to notice....our poor kicking at goal for three years in row....... currently the worst in the entire competition Now not all of these of course fall upon poor Goody. But some of them simply must. So it is I believe, all finished for Simon at our club. He's done a great job in breaking the horrible voodoo and win us a flag but now he's gone past his use by date. Has he been a great coach? I think he has. Some may argue we should have got more than one flag with this list. But I would argue that losing Gus and Melksham cost us. Not Simon. But that's all by and by. Moving forward we need to start again. This year is a bust. Let's introduce a new coach and cut several players. Kings or Queens bday is s time for rose pruning. So too with the club. Sure we played well and were clearly robbed but it was our goal kicking again that helped lose it. And some stubborn coaching. So while we are good enough to beat the number one team in front of a huge crowd and get beaten by power , saints and North.... something is definitely not right. Simon is getting heaps out of them one week followed by zip the next. Surely this is reason enough to start pruning again. Starting with the coach. Definitely.

POSTGAME: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
I think it's time to take a break for me. Some of you Petty supporters will be well pleased. I just don't think a lot of our players hearts are in it this year so I'm thinking why should mine be. It was exciting there for a while when we strung some great games together. But aside from players just content to win a contest and then just get rid of the ball as if it were a bomb, the umpiring has turned me off as well. Also Goodys insistence on playing Petty fwd for two years now is just strange. How many teams have their primary tall average around zero point eight goals a game? And we don't have too many options there either. Three years of poor goal kicking is enough for me. I mean if the club doesn't do anything they can't expect supporters to keep following. Do me a favor. If I post again in the next few weeks remind me of this one. Thanks.

Oliver is the biggest culprit. It as if he's just happy to get the ball and then does anything with it.

POSTGAME: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
This team is going back to the dark old days. Let's pray it's not for another fifty. Bye Simon. You've done well but someone has to be held accountable. Your at the top. The buck stops with you.

We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season

Well done Max. You keep trying even when your teammates don't.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
True but I think I'm right in calling him inconsistent. He was four years ago.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
I really think it's time Goody moves on. I appreciate the flag very much and we came so close to two. But I feel he's just too stubborn and keeps doing things that don't work. And when he makes a change the game is usually done and dusted. I know it's not his fault quite a few have been ordinary today but his playing Petty forward for two years is the definition of insanity. And it's true we don't have the players that's in part on him. And our kicking at goal has to ultimately land on his shoulders as well. It's not unreasonable to change coaches at this point. I just don't think I can handle another year, next year without finals.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Always been hot and cold. Always.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Why does he move Turner so late?- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Sparrow in our team says a lot about our depth unfortunately.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Melksham either has a good day or nothing. Sadly it's the latter today.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
A gentle zephyr takes poor Petty out of the competition.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Point o rama.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
I don't blame Petty. He's not a fwd. It's Goodys fault- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
I guess we are still a chance. Two goals.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
It's getting way too close. If it's not the iffy frees it's the 50 m penalties. Then the lack of calling ports holding the ball. It's not as bad as last week by a mile but it's still pretty poor.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
If we get a decent shake from the umpires we are still in it.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Does Oliver ever look.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
If Petty plays fwd again, I'll seriously give this up.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Oh Petty. Really- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Umps are shocking again.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Right on time umps- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
Viney is getting on a bit and hasn't played for a while so it's a bit harsh on him. But your spot on about the disposal. Oliver does all the hard work to get the ball and so often just gives it back. Tracca just doesn't seem to get the ball today. Best midfield in the comp to a mediocre one. It's lost without Kozzie. And I'll keep saying it, our fwd line was best when Petty was on the bench.- GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
The problem for me with Melksham has always been inconsistancy. Plays a blinder or two and then disappears for the same amount of time. No coincidence Port piles on the goals when KP goes off. Shame we have to rely on him so much. Tracca needs to show more leadership. Oliver needs to stop just throwing the ball on his boot or his trademark handball over the head without looking. Max keeps toiling. Turner patches of good effort. Apart from Kozzie who has stood out? There is still close to a dozen premiership players out there but you would never guess it. Are we tired from playing only five days ago? Possibly. It is a poor fixture for us. But players who seem to be well down on form from 21...Lever....Rivers...Petty....Salem... Sparrow..( the perennial 12 disposals per game)....Oliver ....and today Melksham...Tracca..and Viney who has maybe come back too soon. Imagine Kozzie playing in a team like the pies. Lets see what Goody does. - GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
