  1. Really could have been us playing today. An in form Melksham was a huge loss. Not playing Grundy for whatever reason didn't help. Tmac was a poor compromise and I won't talk about the incident here. Pies are an average side that were very lucky to beat us and just scraped in against the Giants who played their third interstate final in a row. After a six day break. Hmmmm. Like so many others my interest is to see pies get smashed and a certain player get a taste of his own irresponsible and very dangerous footy acts so as to stop them happening to others again. Because the afl won't stop them, someone else should.
  2. Does anyone know how much the Afl paid kiss? Can't find it on the internet. Just curious.
  3. An 86 year-old man is out fishing. He was sitting in his boat when he heard a voice say, "Pick me up!" He looked around and did not see any one. He thought he was dreaming until he heard the voice again. "Pick me up." The old man looked in the water and there, floating on a lilly pad was a frog. The man said, "Are you talking to me?" The frog replied, "Yes, I'm talking to you. Pick me up. Then, kiss me and I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. I'll make sure that all your friends are envious and jealous because you will have me as your bride." The man looked at the frog for a minute in confusion, reached over, picked it up carefully, and placed it in his front pocket. The frog screamed, "What, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said?? I said kiss me and I will be your beautiful bride!" He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said, "Nah, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog." Boom boom.
  4. Do young people use the expression " not much chop?"
  5. Since you put it like this, I see your point. I would leave it with the umpires but maybe take the extra umps of the ground they've added lately and put them in the stands. Integrity is still there but with increased objectivity. Or maybe they can review and judge the games post match via video.
  6. It really would not surprise me. They really are a pathetic mob on the whole. On the subject of Booing, it seems on the rise, especially when players kick at goal. I don't do it. Why would you boo someone for no reason trying to play their chosen sport?
  7. It's the Afl who are negligent IMHO.
  8. Not a rumor but just wanted to ask what are we going to down about replacing Grundy? Can't really afford to bring in a trainee with Max getting on a bit. Also it's much more preferable to also get an established big bodied fwd or two with Tmac and Bbb futures in doubt. Fix those three problems successfully and I'm confident we will make top four again.
  9. Can someone please explain to me which umps actually give the votes. It can't be the officiating ones surely? Aren't they too busy umpiring? Oh wait.
  10. https://www.ladbrokes.com.au/blog/2018/03/19/forgotten-afl-club-songs/ Now I've got more spare time I found this online. Not be taken as a betting endorsement.
  11. In their day they were both champions. Bbb in last year's finals had close to no real influence and unfortunately it was Tmac following suit in this year's. Clearly their bodies are letting them down and from the last two years efforts it's hard to see either of them recapturing their previous great form. Maybe Bbb gets to play fwd again but I can't see Tmac doing it unless we can't recruit well or have another shocking run of injuries.
  12. Currently have Mrs Deever making a Maynard voo doo doll.
  13. Yracc had a good year but he seemed to fade away somewhat in several games at the end of this year. I thought with Daicos injured he may have been a chance but he didn't really dominate from then on.
  14. Gee 13 from 13 at the Gabba is a great record but I'm worried about their record at the ground that decides it all.
  15. Let's just have Carlton supporters have a glimmer of hope and then snuff it out to make this win even sweeter.
  16. These two are huge talents but Petty seems very injury prone and Jvr really needs to get his agro under control. These two firing and unfettered will be awesome but I reckon given the status of the other three you mentioned really means we need two more big fwds. Plus Grundy is moving on as well. Hope we can find some.
  17. Still I guess I should give them credit for a song with more than three syllables unlike the filth base with the Cwood chant.
  18. Damn. Two points from a non Vic granny. Would have been a nice " stick it up em" to the Afl.
  19. Sorry wrong thread. Can't lions fans sing a Paul Kelly song?
  20. Really want Carlton to lose but gee lions supporters make it hard to get on board singing about going home to the Northern Hemisphere. Wth.
  21. And our mids getting spanked in the centre clearances.
  22. Good post. We simply couldn't win because of our fwd line being depleted. Also had Gus unfairly removed from the whole game. We bombed it against the pies without a strong Hogan type player who could make a contest. If a tired gws side that had a six day break after three interstate games had another tall in their fwd line and not rely just on Hogan they would be in a Gf now. Pies are bog ordinary and should be smashed by the lions if the Mcg hoodoo isn't a factor. Lions fwd line should overwhelm the pies defenders . As for Carlton, we were another fwd down in a young Jvr suspended and blew a lot of chances in a very poorly umpired game with 50m penalties handed out like snickers bars and a lot of frees just simply not paid. We also made some poor selection choices with Laurie in the QF and not Grundy in the other. A sad ending with injuries, the Maynard incident and some really poor skills saw us removed in straight sets in a series where a flag was very much there for the taking.
