Kayos not so bad. Sure beats having to fork out an xtra 25 for poxtel.

I thought in the scheme of things he was a good defender. Sure he made a few clangers but i always thought he gave his all and when on song it was a catchy tune. Wouldnt mind having him back to be honest.

Thanks Mrs Lever. I do hope you are correct. We ( most of us at least) do love singing praises when we win more often. -

Forgot about the draft picks. I know he has a had a lot of injuries but your 100 percent correct. Needs to give much more. That big bloke playing beside him needs to do likewise. Its an expensive backline. I miss Frosty and Hibberd. -
And hes a Dees supporter.

On 2nd thought moving May up forward would make Lever more exposed. Tmac would have to swap.
-
Definately worth a shot.

When we lost Hogan we had TMac who had kicked 53 goals in 20 games and we had Weideman who had taken the finals by storm. Ive always argued the importance of having 3 talls to have up forward. Always. Despite being knocked for it, i still think its crucial. 3 key forwards and not 2 and a utility. One at best gets injured and the other loses form and hey how come we dont have a forward line. By all means get a strong defence but lets kick goals to defend in the first place. Given our recent lack of quality crumbers, the club has been shortsighted in not concentrating on this issue.

There are 2 Senior players that have been wonderful performers for this club but perhaps they have lost their drive or age has simply caught up with them. One is a small defender and the other was a captain. I am very much hoping they come good again. Especially the defender.

Not really sure. Could be a number of factors. If I had to take a stab at it, I believe it is a serious lack of genuine expectation. That most of the players dont seriously believe in themselves or if they do, I would argue that they dont believe in ths teams ability to win a premiership. We had a clear look at what confidence can do 2 seasons ago. That said there is obviously a lot going on outside of footy , so I guess I can understand if there is a lack of focus and belief this season. This year is complicated, so its probably silly to make any real assumptions. The problem is the results of last year, pre Covid. There are certainly quality players on this list who are lacking self confidence. And if that is not the reason then one cant rule out sheer apathy. I dont really think the last conclusion is the reason.

And world peace while your asking.

The sad irony of this team is that we have a prodigious list of talent. We have seen many of these players really shine. That said how can we constantly explain the inconsistancy?
-
Is this result a fitness issue? Its hard to believe not long ago Tmac was a contender for the Coleman. Petracca solid and kicked true. Lever and May need to pull up their socks. Can we play one of these guys up forward?

The barrel please Jack.

Thanks Tmac.

Salems been ok. Tmac and Lever not good.

And right on time here come tge umps.

This backline is shocking.

Waiting for fritter to win the game via a bannana kick. Although its going to be close.

Whats happened to Jake Lever?

Yep they are on a solid financial wicket. Most of them still love playing the game and are passionate about the game. Not being able to play at such an elite level would be very disappointing though. I missed a lot of low level footy when young due to knee issues and it was depressing enough without any money. Did you ever play? Did you miss it for any reason? Add the fact that he's probably rightly concerned about the future of his career given his injuries and I would argue that the financial compensation is not that much of a help. I get that he's moved on but JH has gone...is going through a lot. His dad passed away as well as having to fight cancer. I'd argue that from your post you dont really care at all. That's all well and good. You are entitled to your lack of empathy but I dont understand why you want to share it. Who benefits from your dont really care post and why the motivation to not care but care enough to tell us .I know you are a passionate supporter of this great club and I enjoy your humor quite a lot but your cynicism not so much. Perhaps you forgot about his other struggles in which case I apologize. But I for one feel very sorry for the poor kid. Good luck Jesse. Get well soon and TX for the memories. Look forward to seeing you play some great footy again You served the Mfc well.
