Confidence definitely lacking as well, compared to 21.

To think I've been pondering if I should travel down to this game. Well that's that decision made for me. Rats.

I'm genuinely gob smacked by that price. Since moving to rural Nsw 11 years ago I don't get to Melbourne as much as I would like. I go and support our great team at the Scg when we play there but about 2 years ago it was 8 dollars for a cup of about 375ml mid strength. Aldi sells a great 330 ml bottle of knock off stella artists for under 2 $2 a bottle. Maybe they make about a dollar off each sale. @ 14$ I wonder what their profit margin is. Given serving costs etc they must make around 8 to 9 dollars a sale and I think that's a conservative guestimate. Good old footy, the working class game and societal leveller. Some fair seats for the wife and 2 kids could set you back around 100. Parking 20. Snacks 40. Total 160. Kicking back with the wife and having 3 or 4 beers each would give you little change for the whole day from 300 bucks. It's astounding crowd numbers have been so good.

That is theft.

I think Afl has proved that you need a lot of luck to get to the prelim stage. On paper our current injury list seems small, but every week we have lost key players and we never seem to get settled.

I think the fear and concern is that we could end up like the bulldogs after their long breaking flag drought. Similarly they too successfully changed a lot of things like many of the positives you mentioned about our beloved club. Since their premiership, they have had finals success but also failure. Quite a few years of contending but not delivering the ultimate prize. Yes this success is wonderful and better than being on the receiving end of losing all the time but maybe we were hoping for back to back cups or at least another one this year It's not to say we won't but it's not looking as likely lately. As you say we have some wonderful talent but like all talent in Afl, it has a window for achievement. Are supporters genuinely concerned that this window is closing? I'd say so. Are we like the players, frustrated by a weekly occurrence of injury? Yes. Has our club been exposed in our forward line issues and other clubs outcoaching us? It's not all doom and gloom but after a shocking end to last year's clear chances, this season seems to be slipping behind again. It's great to celebrate our success but sadly that can bring contentment which ironically leads to failure. Perhaps like the bulldogs, breaking that long drought was enough for the club and their hunger was satisfied. I don't want to be too negative but we seem to be a shadow of the 21 side atm.

Great podcast. Thanks very much. Not sure about the fumbling being accounted for by the dew at the Gabba and rain at Adelaide. If anything the 3rd Quarter was the wettest and we played our best footy.

Great question though.

Was that the Turkey that payed the mark in front of powers goal from a 9m kick? Probably the same ump from that Crows game when they didn't call a clear dob.

Fritsch sent for scans too

Was it Viney Or Tmac? -
Maybe so but it's hard to inject some mongtel when players are being cited every week and penalised like Jvr was for retaliating which cost us a winning goal.

It's his lack of tackling that worries me.

It won't be easy with Oliver out and our ramshackle forward line. Hopefully our smalls dominate. This seasons giving me the s4its at times. About now is one of them.😄

This year has been a shocker with injuries from the get go and at least one occurring each week.

Is Fritta injured as well?

Looks like a training drill for Pies. They're plating well but Carlton look terrible.

A shame that the facial recognition software available is made only for humans at present.

I'm not really sure you can compare. It's also a matter of how much time they play forward v return as well. I don't think we are really getting as much as we could / should.
-
I thought that the Grundy and Gawn combo was going to directly increase our goal tally. It did in the praccy games. But the average goals for the 2 combined is currently at only one and a half per game. I think we roll the dice with Bbb instead of Tmac.

He wasn't good. No argument on that front. But sadly what options do we really have?

Lachie Hunter Loses Bid To Overturn 1 Week Suspension

Given that Jonas was rewarded for his dangerous tackle can we please give the umpire at least a week off as well. -
Out. Softest tackles ever. In. The occasional mark.
-
He's been well below . so has Anb and Lngdon. spargo may add a goal or two now andvthen but hes borderline It was Grundy and Max that let us down tonight. Jack too. Trac was ok in tge 2nd but hadc4 touches in the. first half Lever was mia again. It was always going to be tough with umps that get conned over there every single time. Sadly it was there to be won but one quarter of footy is never enough. Such a weak effort with no soul tonight. No running. Weakest tackles that were just stepped around and nobody holding a mark. We aren’t top 4 material from that showing. Had port kicked true we would have lost by 35.

That was a sun's replay. 70 marks to our 30. How many marks did we take inside our 50m? 40 to 30 clearances against. You can't play like that first half. It was putrid. I'm so annoyed at our one arm soft tackles. Bruise free Mfc.
