  1. That umpire isn't fit enough for Auskick. Gearing free kick they didn't pay at a close stage of the game. Incompetence or cowardice.
  2. Congratulations to a modern giant of the game. A true champion, leader and gentlemen.
  3. I don't know. They probably are. But what about our Swans game. Just quietly, do we go easier if it means avoiding an interstate final?
  4. I'm giving props to Kozzie who tells the ump when it was touched. When he was the player who kicked it. Bravo.
  5. I do not know why but I have a new found disdain for Carlton. Can't wait to see them lose their final.
  6. It's the constant flavor of the month that is just strange. Hands in the back paid then not paid. Dob. One week if you step over the line your gone then another week it's ball up. Same with htb. Sometimes the umps blow the whistle on every occasion, then it's play on. Dissent. Toss a coin. Sling tackles the current favorite. The umps have been all over the shop this year and sometimes in just one game.
  7. No way Carlton will win a flag. Even if they go in with ten on trot. Finals are a whole new game and boy will the pressure then be on them instead.
  8. Carlton played out of their skins. I definitely don't think we played as well as we could. Some great individual efforts but after our smalls and Melksham giving us some hope lately, they were for the most part, mia. And I think we all knew that Grundy wasn't the answer. I don't get why Smith didn't play fwd from the get go . One of our rare markers inside our fifty.
  9. Pretty sure this is the way it will go.
  10. And public floggings too. Just kidding. Love the Harry b award.
  11. Sometimes it's the lack of calls that make up the many bad decisions. Our tackling was not rewarded like theirs. Not a dig at you but anyone who says bad umpiring doesn't cost clubs games has absolutely no clue. Umpires are human and often get swayed or intimidated by large parochial crowds.
  12. If the umpire believes it was touched than that should be the end of it. None of this I'll just double check. The problem with this is it leaves umps prone to making calls because they know they can go back and check them. And as saw on Saturday, this didn't work because the technology is a joke. Best if the ump doesn't know, he or she could just say so and if the technology doesn't help just assume nothing until proven otherwise. That means it remains a goal until an ump says definitely otherwise or technology proves it was touched. Simple.
  13. It's also one of the closest seasons I can remember with even bottom teams bringing their best and knocking off faves.
  14. Oliver to get back to 100% and Fritta back will help. But our fwd line is a big issue compared to theirs .
  15. They outscored us. And we have one of the best backlines in the league.
  16. Hell why not. Petty worked. What other options are there? Tmac or Bbb on one leg or Schacke. It's not Grundy.
  17. Fantastic tackling effort.
  18. My hasn't as I did a silly thing and watched the replay. Umpires were so quick to blow the whistle for htb when we were tackled but gave the blues a free pass many a time. I wonder if the crowd noise sucks them in.
  19. Is it not inconceivable to put a couple of cameras on the goal posts themselves. Or one camera on the goal umps head. My son doesn't use his go pro anymore. The reviews of standard tv coverage is farsical. I mean how much do small high def camera cost these days? Why have reviews when the coverage is so often inconclusive?
  20. Appreciate that. It's the same with Grundy. People say he can bring the ball to ground. A forwards job is to present and take marks and score goals. Melksham was supreme against the lions with ten marks. Yesterday his job wasn't to " take anyone out" it was to score goals. He failed. I'm not saying he's not a good player, I'm just pointing out why he hasn't featured in the team for the last two years. He's very hot and cold. Played a blinder like he did in round 22 against the blues last year. Then disappeared in his next three, including both our finals. When he is on, he's electric . As said before, I find him either on or off with a most uneven form scale. It's just the way he is. If it were not, he would be playing more often than he does.
  21. Was always going to go down to the wire. Credit to our backline for absorbing that manic first quarter pressure. Umps were frustrating with the htb inconsistency but it happens. Maybe it's crowd noise. We had our chances. Jvr kicks one of those goals he usually does and it's happy days . Also midfield totally caught napping five mins l at the start of the last. It's the fwd problem that worries me come finals. I just can't see where our goals will come from. Chandler, Melksham and Kozzie are hot and cold. Jvr our most reliable but the kids played twenty games. Back to betting on Tmac . I do think in leau of Petty going out, Goody should have played Smith fwd. Grundy is definitely not a fwd and once again Max seemed subdued.
  22. Of course. They had good calls from the umps all night. And when they got legitimately called out, it was all boos.
  23. Schacke lacks strength. We need someone like Tommo but it's probably too late to trial him in this capacity. Now we are back to hoping Tmac can comeback. And Milk has gone back in his shell. It's a big concern now. I'm sure the FD is just as frustrated with our fwd line shocking luck.
  24. Tx Binners. Yes forget Jvr being legged and Tracs point/ goal, this was the most telling and annoying thing for me. We got maybe one htb free kick and Carlton got quite a few. I have no idea why the umpires were so blatantly inconsistent. I also wouldn't mind seeing some sort of rule change where the third deliberate out of bounds in a row gets a fifty m as well.
  25. Did our fwd line look totally inept to anyone else? How are we going to score in the finals? Is it all on Fritta? Is Tommo an option? Anyone else concerned about this? Grundy is definitely not the solution.
