I don't think you can rule out the fact Gus's injury may have determined tge game or not. It was a 7 point difference . It's quite possible being a good player down played a part. Especially how our mids were dominated in the first half. That said the issue is for Maynard to be punished and players protected The media went into overdrive at every turn to protect this bloke. A player with his experience must of known he would collect Gus with all his weight. I can't say if it was premeditated or a simple rush of adrenaline bit an experienced player like Maynard knew a collision would result. And he certainly chose at the last second to put his shoulder in. This is why they judge on impact.

I think Grundy plays fwd. We need Max as the reliable mark around the ground that he is. Grundy can't mark and I know that's counter-intuitive to having him as a fwd but we need to get the ball in there first. I'd replace Chandler with Spargo. Chandler has done very little in quite a few now. It's bad enough having Kozzie hot and cold. Speaking of, I'd play Kozzie in the middle for the first half and put Tracc fwd. Traccs slow first halves have really hurt. I wish we could play Schache instead of Tmac or anyone. It's so wrong that's he's been given games this year but it's only by default. Smith has been ok and Fritta has been too. Nowhere near his best but the blokes missed half a season. I also hope Grundy isn't angry with us and checked out like Jackson did last finals.

It's a hard call but Max does the fwd role better . I guess your thinking correctly that Max is needed around the ground as Grundy can't mark. I worry too that Grundy may be annoyed with the club. I hope we overload on big fwds in the off season.

If I had to guess, Id say probably because Tmac shouldn't be playing. No definitely.

Sparrow has always reminded me of another CP.He hasn't really developed enough for me. Love his strength but he does seem to drift in and out of games. Guess we are all very disappointed. Even with our shocking run of fwd injuries we did enough to beat the filth but poor kicking once again was tge main culprit. Hard to swallow that one out of bounds and a behind to be goals and we are in a prelim. And pretty much from so many who played below their best. So close but so far. It's a hard game and a reminder of why we took 57 years. They don't come easy.

I think for the most part there is a lot of accuracy here. For me Anb was pretty good. Sparrow had an absolute shocking first half whicH made his night less than average. Petracca a little similiar but incredible second half. Which makes it all so frustrating tHat we lost by 7 points.
