I just don't particularly think people skills were there forte.
I think we're still coming to grips with how KOTD we were to have had the likes of McGrath, Waugh and Gilchrist - not even to mention Ponting and a couple of handy openers in Langer and Hayden.
They made the two aforementioned captains look much better than they actually were in my opinion.
7 of those are ideal best 22 atm. 4 of them should be right by round 1, hopefully 1- 2 of Clark, Trengove or Blease come up. I didn't realise Blease's was so bad.
Yeah when I bumped it I (thought I) wrote "not pretty reading"! Wowee - my list of out potential forwardline reads something like; gone, gone, rubbish, gone, backman, well past it, gone, gone.
I'll blame drunk uni posting.
The actually interesting conversation happened in another thread which triggered this one off.
Good call RR.
I won't be able to make it home until 9 unfortunately, but can't request a change as its simply impractical to get a time that works for all.
May luck be with me in the auto picks.
Nah - we could've had both. One in the second round and one in the third.
Disagree with this part of the post on a number of fronts. Number one being that Toumpass/Wines wouldn't have last to 13.
Disagree because Hogan looks like a superstar of the competition in the future, something I don't see in Wines.
Lastly, I disagree because I think the Hogan deal was part of what allowed us to get Viney in the second round.
It feels like deja vu all over again.
Interstate side at home to start the season, starting as favourites.
Port rolling West Coast is a little ominous. Hopefully Blease, Clark come back into the fold with Dawes. We need to win round 1, IMO it is an imperative.
My frightening stat of the day: Melbourne have not won a match in either of the first two rounds since 2005.
What's a stick without a body?
To steal a line from other Landers, our midfield is third world and has been for years. Slowly it is improving but it's no where near where it needs to be for us to win a flag. Or even challenge for the 8.
