  1. Bloody oath, as good as Bate and Sylvia are they're not true CHF's and they're needed more in the midfield. It's a pity we won't finish bottom this year because we would have certainly fixed that position.
  2. The Jeff White discussion is a very complex one (and one I love debating ), during his time with us he has seen off three other ruckman (Stynes retired too early imo) but for various reasons we weren't able to take full advantage of his abilities. One thing is for certain though, changing the centre bounce rule was something he never really got over.
  3. Jamar is demonstrated that he won't make it even after many, many opportunities while Neaves has been Sandy's best ruckman this year and he is four years younger. This is the very reason why I've said in the past that we should (at the very least) look at our set up with Sandringham and consider the possibility that a reserves side may be a better alternative, especially given that the AFL will make it cheaper to do it. Having players like Newton and Neaves wasting time on the bench is counter productive.
  4. Yeah, I agree AS, Beasley should be strung up by his balls for disclosing personal information to the public on his clients though.
  5. I've heard from a source outside of the media that he won't play either, will be interesting if it's true.
  6. We've had leadership issues since Lyon, Viney and Stynes retired, sad but true. Hopefully things will turn around in a couple of years.
  7. Can you imagine the arguments about selection Well, just the arguments period.
  8. Neaves and Hayes are the two I'd keep. Neaves is already our second best ruckman (his ruckwork is already better than PJ and Jamar) and Hayes is a talent, he just needs time.

Going on ability right now yes Ward and Brown are better, but they're going to be 31 and 30 y/o next year. It's time we built for the future.
  10. They also started Newton on the bench a couple of weeks ago
  11. I'm really concerned about Davey's ability to play at a high level in finals football pressure, I'm sure there has been games in the past that will prove me wrong but I it still concerns me. If he could get that right then he could be anything
  12. It's a difficult one, but it wouldn't be the first time that someone has been chosen to coach who has had a 'colourfull' history. Leigh Matthews resume is probably as 'colourfull' as anyone else's but he has turned into one of the really respected coaches. As for players with bad histories, if a club has good values and a strong leadership team then a player like Pike can still make a good contribution ala the kangaroos and Lions, but unfortunately at Melbourne I don't think our current leaders are in that class (comparing them to blokes like Archer). It would have to be on a case by case situation with a demonstration that they have sorted themselves out or at the very least desperately want to.
  13. That's exactly my point, it's hard when you have to sift through the garbage.
  14. A definite yes to Neaves. He's been very, very good at Sandy and I think a taste of AFL footy would just encourage him to work even harder. Not sure about Bode though.

Would much prefer to see him and CJ playing out the rest of the year instead of Brown and Ward once some players come back from injury.
  16. This has already been mentioned before, I don't want to continually go over the same stuff. Look at one of RR's posts (the ones that Nasher didn't delete) and look at my response to it.
  17. Sorry deanox, wasn't done intentionally. I've tried to debate and alot of others have come in and I've must of lost track of your posts, also responding to posts that had had to have been deleted by mods has confused me more, it's been a little tricky keeping track of arguments when they dissappear. When I get some more time I'll go back and respond properly.
  18. But that wouldn't be accurate
  19. We have failed to develop key forwards and ruckman tim, it's something we need to make sure we do properly in the future. Prove that I'm wrong with this statement. West Coast's midfield got them over the line, we don't have a midfield like that, it's not that hard to comprehend.
  20. His form has been dissappointing this year, and he's started to develop a habit of giving away stupid free kicks. Hopefully next year he'll get his mind right and return to his best.
  21. Read my posts, it's no that difficult to comprehend, but do you really think we've never had a problem of kicking goals? Oh dear!
  22. In 2000 we had Neitz and Schwartz playing as key forwards, both taken prior to Daniher's reign. Thanks for proving my point
  23. What's your actual argument here?
  24. Do you understand what benefits a Key forward bring to a team? Robo isn't a key forward, he will never play the role of a big contested marking CHF, he takes speccies but as the number one target up forward he is easily countered, shown by the fact that he has kicked more than 50 goals in a season only once. Your welcome
  25. Obviously we had a problem kicking a winning score in 2000 or we would have won the GF
