  1. Yeh. JLT. Where you implement what you've worked on for the entire pre-season and hopefully address some key areas that need improving. Single quarter lapses in our case. We played a full strength team against the Saints. There's not really an excuse if it's been close to an ingrained issue from the year previous.
  2. Maybe. Two out of three games so far in to a new season we've allowed it to happen after it happened 8 times last year. A year in which we were second in the competition for conceding most points in a single quarter I believe. The sample is big enough right now.
  3. I keep hearing this line, be it from supporters, players or coaches. I disagree somewhat. One thing we haven't learnt (and are yet to overcome), are our single quarter meltdowns. There are articles floating around with accurate numbers so forgive me if I'm slightly off, but we lost the second quarter against Geelong by around 27 points on the weekend. Against St Kilda in JLT 2, we lost the third quarter by more if I remember correctly which allowed them right back into the game. And last year, we had 8 quarters during the year in which we conceded 30 points or more. We lost 7 of those 8 games. Whilst it is only round 1 as you and others have reminded us, I find it alarming that over an entire pre-season, this major flaw is still present during games. We had a warning sign against St Kilda in JLT after an entire pre-season in which we should have addressed the issue and two weeks later it happened again against Geelong in a real home and away game. The third quarter against St Kilda in JLT 2 was the first bit of relevant evidence we'd been able to dissect for 6 months, you're right. It was deja vu. Two weeks later the same thing happened. Would love an answer. Because it's a consistently worrying theme.
  4. Looks like there’ll be heavy rain this arvo. Pity. I don’t like getting wet on second level MCC..
  5. I get the feeling you were meant to be quoting my post? Given Harmes, ANB, Lewis, Jones and Oliver were all similarly battling niggles in the lead up to this game, your view that Tyson was overlooked because of “fitness” doesn’t seem to stack up. All of those players have been selected having missed parts of training or JLT games, like Dom. I can quite clearly see that you rate Tyson highly like many on here. But it is most obvious that Goodwin doesn’t see him as a best 22 player. Even more telling that it’s the start of a season with a healthy squad to select from.
  6. There have been plenty of decisions made by Goody that I’ve questioned, this just happens to be one I agree with given my thoughts on Tyson.
  7. Yes, I’m sure they were losing sleep over the thought.
  8. Like @A F, I don’t really understand the question as they’re totally different players and are not in competition for the same spot. I only compared the kicking ability of the two because I can’t understand why so many posters are so underwhelmed by Wagner and his kicking yet love Tyson, who is without a doubt one of the weakest kickers in our team. It doesn’t matter that he is a ball winner and an extractor when is giving up the ball or not turning those possessions into meaningful disposals. The dislike of Wagner vs love of Dom Tyson is perplexing.
  9. Top post. Agree with all. Those who question the Tyson decision are some of the the same ones who questioned the Melksham trade.
  10. Wagner's inclusion allows for a whole range of flexibility. Lewis, Jones, Vince and Hunt can all be played in a variety of other roles and we have no idea what Goodwin has planned for gameday. Vince could take a tag for example. Jones could be playing in the guts all day etc. I don't share the same pessimism when it comes to Wagner. I think he has a lot of upside and his kicking is better and more consistent than Tyson's aside from his odd howler. Tyson is just generally a poor kick. Maynard over Tyson is intriguing. And I look forward to what he'll bring on Sunday.
  11. lol. I take enjoyment in posters like you being so 'sure' that Tyson is best 22 and posting silly statements. Out of 28-30 players, Goody couldn't find a place in the best 22 for him. From that complex reading, it looks like he's not in the best 22.
  12. A limited pre-season? I'm pretty sure he's done 90% of the pre-season and had a little hiccup before the first JLT game, that being a calf strain. He then played JLT 2 against the Saints and a full game for Casey the weekend afterward. Tyson was left out because of form, not because he's underdone. It's amusing that posters are trying to convince themselves otherwise.
  13. Cool mate, go and email Goody.
  14. I think the blueprint is pretty obvious. Goody clearly loves a a dynamic and versatile team and Wagner's inclusion is evidence of that. Wagner allows us to play all of Hunt, Jones, Vince and Lewis in a variety of roles which will hopefully work in our favour. Tyson cannot play any position other than inside mid and his inclusion restricts Goody's creativity. Maynard is the interesting one for me, because similarly to Tyson I see him being fairly one-dimensional. But maybe Goody and co have some ideas of roles come game day. All-in-all it's a fairly strong side all over the ground, unlike Geelong's 22.
  15. We'll see. Please don't blame a loss on the fact that Dom was left out though.
  16. Brayshaw being left out is clearly to do with his emergency tooth situation during the week. There's no doubt it would have put him out from a preparation pov.
  17. Shout-out to the "Dom Tyson is best 22 lock" lovers.
  18. Sometimes this stuff is enjoyable to bring up.
  19. What and turn the ball straight over to the opposition? Frost is not best 22. And he won’t play.
  20. Frost won’t play. He is so overrated on demonland. He lacks the football specific skills needed to play at this level.
  21. Right, so you ‘know’ and don’t choose to share, yet continue to post “he’s on track” 90,000 times, as a means to shut posters up who are continuing to question the nature of the injury. Makes complete sense.
  22. You mean you'll know what he tells you. And he could tell you anything he wants. In conclusion, you'll know no more than any of us here. But cool.
  23. I’m confused as to why this thread was started. Does someone have solid information? When I was at training on Monday morning, I noticed a medico/doctor inspecting Viney’s foot closely whilst he was sitting on the ground. As soon as that concluded, he took no further part in the rehab group training and headed back to the AAMI park complex. Before the foot inspection, he was doing light work in the rehab group. That was the only concerning thing I witnessed. I wouldn’t jump the gun just yet in fearing the worst, although I’m aware of how unclear the club when it comes to updating it’s supporter base re: injuries.
