Might need to start a Billy Stretch thread as well, I’m getting confused as to who we’re talking about.
I need a coffee.

My 12 yo son would say Hogan. Loves a goal kicker, my boy.

Did Slobbo mention Watts?
He mentioned Jamie Bennell last year despite the fact he hadn’t played with us for at least three years. So I wouldn’t be surprised. At all.

"Hamstring" tightness. Maybe it's really tightness in another, smaller, muscle, a little higher up and a bit to the side of the hamstring.
What - his brain?

I am tattless. If I ever get one it will be to commemorate a real premiership.
Apologies mate, could have sworn it was you (even looked like your avatar)

Ding, jlt games are only on Foxtel or AFL live pass (Telstra subscribers should get this free)

Unfortunate for a host of guys who stood up that are going to have to make way for Viney, Garlett etc.
fierce competition for spots. Ripper

Looks like all the pre season analysis on DL was correct - we’ve really missed Watts out there

I'd ask the question of how many sides last year played the majority of the season without 1)their number one ruck 2)their number one key forward 3) their number one mid?
I would say the answer is zero. This is the reason why we will play finals this year. Combined with the fact the following players are a year older, Oliver, Salem, Brayshaw, Petracca, Hunt, Harmes & ANB.
At the end of the day the proof is in the pudding and I'm confident we will be there come September.
Completely agree Dommo. I’m not the most popular person at my house right now because I’ve already cancelled our September holidays (nearly did last year too)

Our club picking up Lever rather than this tool showcases why we will get a premiership before those muppets

Who came back after injury last year and was immediately at their best? Max? Viney? Watts? We had sub par performances on almost every occasion. What exactly is the myth?

Some more observations.
- Hannan was everywhere in the first few minutes, kicking two goals including one with a lovely snap from the boundary (Edit from five minutes later: fantastic bit of play where he stepped around two players and passed it beautifully to Bugg in the pocket. Second edit: Hannan kicks another with a straightforward set shot. Absolutely on fire!
Absolutely awesome wrap up of the session DJ, thanks very much. I could almost smell the grass.
Loved this summary of Hannam, hoping for big things from him this year.

All I remember from the 88 grannie was getting drenched sitting in the top deck of the Olympic stand and the streaker in the 3rd quarter. Looking along the row at all the dejected dees’ supporters who suddenly became interested in the spectacle was bloody funny

Yep, not sure what metrics they're using for Collingwood vs the rest of the competition. Laughable. Also would have rated our midfield higher than St Kilda.

I thought (afterwards) that cheering every Melbourne goal loudly from the top of the Adelaide stands last year against the Crows was a stupid thing to do. But we (I had the family with me) got out alive. And boy was it fun.
Especially yelling out “how good was that” to Clarries goal from the pocket.

You could add AFLW into that mix. We’re the only team left in that race.

Let's take it a step further.
Can I get some classification as to the role Goodwin plays at the club? Often I see him looking at a board with the players and opponents positions on them, which I find cringe worthy. Shouldn't he know them off by heart? I can't believe he needs to look at a board.
Sack him.
Completely agree WB. Building humble, resilient, respectful young men when in fact he should be breeding bloody mongrel footballers who don’t give a stuff about anything other than winning.

We should have just got the umpires to train with us.
Relationship building 101.

when I read the title of this post, I thought it meant our boys were going to earn 580 brownlow votes this year.
Then I realised 22 games times 6 votes didn’t quite add up to 580.
We might come close though

Feeling sorry for Carlton Captain Brianna Davey with a confirmed ACL injury in their game vs GWS. “she’s in the best medical hands” according to Carlton football manager Andrew Mackay.
True to form, I’m sure those medicos are looking for a way to pin this on Jesse Hogan to give him weeks.

Doing a Richmond
in Melbourne Demons

Talking about "doing a Richmond" - this article penned on the Roar last week is definitely worth a read.

I like the cut of his jib. I especially liked his commentary on Tom Bugg.
