  1. 😄 I Think, apart from being our first premiership coach in over 50 years, he was a bees' penis away from holding the longest consecutive run in the top four.
  2. Time to sack the coach... Drop the Captain... Tank... Remove the forward coach... Burn your membership!
  3. 6 Viney 5 Gawn 4 Petracca 3 Bowey 2 Brayshaw 1 Oliver
  4. Hopelessly negative! I only read it to see how far you are from reality. This one takes the cake! Those that think BBB is a certainty may not have watched Casey. JVR may miss due to collision, not poor form! He makes contests and hits the pack hard.
  5. I was at Metricon for GC's win over Geelong earlier this year. I also was there for our previous game against the Suns. This game panned out as I expected; a four quarter slog! DL's who thought it would be a cakewalk were not reading the room. I was also livid at how Rivers coughed up their last goal, but he fought tooth and nail to make up for it by the final siren. We got away with some borderline decisions in those final minutes, but after an evening of non-decision in GC's favour, I take that as overdue! Congratulations to Viney, Max, Petracca and Olie for showing the way when we were staring down the barrel.
  6. I was ferocious about several umpiring decisions at the ground on Anzac Eve. After watching the replay, I have to concede that the blocking for Fritta's high mark was there. The free against May for rough contact on the members wing was there. However, the non 50 to ANB for being bear-hugged to the ground seconds after marking was an umpiring screamer, as was the non-free for a push-out in a marking contest to Grundy at the Punt Road end. I could go on to mention at least three blatant incorrect Richmond disposals that the umps turned a blind eye to etc. etc. The lesson for me is that my own red & blue glasses cause some irrationality where umpiring is concerned, however, we are correct to suggest the standard of umpiring in our game sucked!
  7. 6 Viney 5 Gawn 4 Oliver 3 Langdon 2 Petracca 1 Chandler
  8. 6. C.Oliver 5. C.Petracca 4. J.Viney 3. B.Grundy 2. H.Petty 1. L.Hunter
  9. 6. Lever 5. Brown 4. Hunter 3. Oliver 2. Bowey 1. Fritsch PS 6 Petracca after lights failed!
  10. The alarm bells were ringing in the first few minutes… Clayton decided to allow his opponent to continue owning him as he had in the finals. Trac had decided the anxiety fumbles, which usually occur for 20 seconds here and there, would have a sustained presence! I could continue… McDonald more interested in getting through the game than providing any big man influence, Petty overawed by having to be May, Kossie pressure on the ball carrier painfully absent!
  11. If the lights had blown five minutes into final Qtr we would have won in a canter!
  12. Won’t listen to any analysis on this game. We already know why we lost and when given the extended break, had time to get our collective minds clear and play the Melbourne way!
  13. We obviously play better night footy with the lights out!
  14. Oh great, we’re coming back on… time for Brisbane to get five more goals!
  15. In the break, time to rate… General anxious, fumbling scramble by MFC. Major disappointments… Brayshaw and Viney kicking turnovers Petty stuff ups having Grundy on bench when Gawn was off having Petracca and Oliver on the bench together when we were being pumped Petracca fumbles McDonald not being able to fill second ruck duties
  16. 6 Gawn 5 Petracca 4 Pickett 3 Oliver 2 Lever 1 Brown
  17. McVee is progressing well. Those who have attended pre-season would be aware that he is highly regarded and is doing well as a defender in match sim... more likely to get an extension than be delisted.
  18. I picked this team from my best 22 at this morning’s session:- B: Hibberd, May, Harmes HB: Brayshaw, Lever, Rivers C: Langdon, Sparrow, Howes HF: Pickett, McDonald, Schache F: Fritsch, Van Rooyen, Spargo Foll: Gawn, Viney, Petracca Inter: Grundy, Melksham, Jordan, Dunstan, Neal-Bullen I admit backline not quite balanced … but Salem still building, Petty wasn’t there, Disco unlucky, Bowey close, Tomlinson looking very fit …
  19. DK got that right! Upscaled on my respect list!
  20. From what I saw, Bowey was positioning well, but got nabbed a few times under pressure and kicking wasn't as effective as usual.
  21. If I was picking 23 on today’s training… Max, Petracca, Viney, Langdon, Kossie, McDonald, Fritsch, JVR, Rivers, May, Harmes, ANB, Schache, Howes, Sparrow, Lever, Brayshaw, Hibberd, Melksham, Jordan, Dunstan, Spargo, Grundy
  22. Match sim was so exciting to watch… speed ball taken to the next level! Boys back in small group skill activities, which are a bit boring by comparison (but essential of course!) It’s 11:10 and I’m about to check out…
