  1. Ok, how do we contact CH9 to let them know this was the best FC we've ever seen? ... and we want them to keep the current panel. I'm serious!
  2. I'm loving the fact that we now have comprehensive coverage. No wonder CW wasn't invited!
  3. From what I have read our training session today was low-key... We are playing in 24 hours. I have been to enough sessions in January to know that we have been training a level of intensity that would be difficult to top. Yes, we still have weaknesses in delivery, but there will be obvious improvements in endurance, second efforts, game plan, and tackling technique. I think many will be pleasantly surprised.
  4. We have become so used to our draft picks not developing that we seem to have given up hope. I have confidence that a few gems will be unearthed from players already on our list. Keep an eye on Kent, Evans, Barry, Taggert, Terlich, Tynon, Jones, & Stark. A few may surprise along the lines of Kelly, Carrazzo & Stanton
  5. I chose my nominations carefully. I only took a risk on one! I'll stand by that. I am always amused and sometimes irritated by the over estimation of opposition. In this matter I concur with Northey. There are players on the Richmond midfield list that would inspire no fear in the Vineys and Toumpas's of the world.
  6. Without dreams we are anchored to mediocrity!
  7. Grimes, Toumpas, Jones, Viney, Rodan, Trengove, Blease, Kent, Evans... I think our midfield is less than12 months away from being as good!
  8. I now intend to devote more time to examination of the contribution made by 'the first woman of football'. My studies this evening kick off with a very enlightening discussion on FS sometime during 2004...http://www.crikey.com.au/2004/07/23/caroline-wilson-savaged-by-footy-show-heavies/
  9. According to Andrew Capel of The Advertiser...
  10. The Blues sat down on their long bench, the custom of the time, and Barassi pulled the first of two masterstrokes over the next 50 minutes. Dashing defender John Goold remembers "a super calm Ron replaced the ranting one". "He asked the match committee and committee men to leave the room which just left Ron and us. He hardly raised his voice," recalled Goold. "He was positive at all times and explained to us we were going to start a new game with a new team." The new team included Vin Waite moving to centre half-back, David McKay to a back pocket, Goold to a wing, Phillip Pinnell to half-back and, of course, 19th man Ted Hopkins to replace Bert Thornley.Goold said the last move took real guts: "People don't understand it now, but you couldn't bring a player back on the ground once he had been replaced by one of the two reserves, so had we got an injury we would have been in all sorts. ...apparently Barassi is in trouble for a comical and obvious attempt to lose a match in 1970!!!
  11. The best way to rid ourselves of CW is to avoid anything that has her name to it. If all the supporters who she has pizzed off do that... I speak of Bomber-fans, Kanga-fans, Dee-fans and more... then her media outlets shrink considerably. Imagine the effect of us all avoiding The Age, Football Confidential etc for a season (ON PRINCIPLE). This is the most effective action supporters can take. A fall in ratings inevitably results in a change in programing. After tomorrow, I recommend this action to rid our game of the parasite!
  12. Not doing your utmost to win is the Atlantic away from match fixing!
  13. So Caro would have us believe that her AFL insider is so insid-er that she found out before AD!!!!!!
  14. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/more-news/adelaide-coach-brenton-sanderson-says-the-clubs-football-program-revolves-around-hard-work/story-e6frf9jf-1226577993190
  15. Ben Hur... I visualise you from your avatar... A bottle blonde!
  16. or even, what our defense now looks like...
  17. I would commend some analysis of how the Pres' statement re-shapes the probable AFL response to our defense.
  18. Tonight I have come to a conclusion that has already been expressed by others on this site. Caroline has been enlisted by key AFL staff to inflame public opinion against MFC. The AFL will announce heavy penalties within days, maybe hours. The AFL are fully aware that they will be charging MFC for practices that were common in the competition for several years. The AFL want to be seen to be firm and decisive wherever the 'integrity' card is played. The AFL expect MFC to fight the charges through the legal system. The AFL expect several of the charges to be thrown out, as they can't be proven. Caroline has simply been a pawn in the AFL's stategy to shore up it's public image. We must fight! It will be a long fight. We will have our day!
  19. Caroline's respect for legal process ended at the witch trials... Her logic in this matter goes something like this: "Throw MFC into the river. If they float, they tanked. If they sink.... WTF, they should have relocated when the offer was made!"
  20. Seeing the worth of losing is not the same as applauding the orchestrating of a loss!
  21. I look forward to Caroline receiving her comeuppance. She continues to lose the respect of her readers because it is so important for her to be seen to have inside information. This is her modus operandi... In this case, if she does have inside information, she is merely confirming that she is part of a corrupt process! Ironic, isn't it?
  22. Reading the article tends to answer the questions... will continue to be NZ based.
  23. Buckley seemed fairly content today when talking about Daisy. Didn't have the complection of a coach about to announce a sacking!
  24. Careful Ben, you'll start to get a reputation for being level-headed!
