  1. Yes, I saw him running from wing to goals on the south-west flank
  2. I'd describe it as full training with occasional easing down for his own good! (just a spindly pup at this stage).
  3. Who has not appeared yet? Gawn, May, Petracca, Billings, Langdon, Melksham, McAdam, Fullarton, Kossie, Langford & Allan
  4. Chris from Camberwell says a lot of things whilst purporting to represent the entire Melbourne faithful. He said Goodwin would be gone by Christmas! I've never heard him apologise for statements that were later shown to be lacking depth or reason. His annual cries for Jefferson to be accommodated in the forward line as the Messiah are enough to put me off the player altogether. Fortunately for Jefferson, he is now worthy of serious consideration if Roo, Disco or Fritta go down.
  5. I didn't notice Kynan as much today, mainly because I seemed to be on the opposite side of the ground on most occasions. He is certainly putting in full effort in every session. I place him in the group of young improvers... Brown, Verrall, Kentfield, Jefferson, Adams & Sestan. We will learn more about this group when the full list returns and they are doing full match sim.
  6. Clarry is miles ahead of post-Christmas, opening of 2024 season. Fitter, Lighter looking (more muscle) and happier by comparison. He has the opportunity to reach his own peak fitness (2021) before round 1. Is on track!
  7. Just watched the handball, burst through tackle group. It was full on, very physical. Several excellent, tough tackles. Jonesy was in control with Choco looking on. Riv, Marty, Ollie, Roo & Jud were in this group. Riv applied several crunching tackles. Ollie was right into it as one who broke through the tackle. He ribbed Roo a few times and I don’t think Roo enjoyed it. Marty was another who stepped out of tackles to move the ball on
  8. Kolt is flying, with the occasional ball handling fumble. His running and link work at top speed is terrific. I don’t see him as a nibbler clone. Nibs could wear an opponent like a glove, and run each way all day. Kolt is a more penetrating kick, a regular goal scorer, better contested mark, and probably a touch quicker. Which makes it all the more impressive that ANB reached such a highly respected level across the competition.
  9. Interesting that Windsor is with the backs in the current exercise, along with 4, 25, 35, 45, 27, 26 & 17
  10. Rehab group Sestan, Spargs, Campbell, Lever, Howes involved in handball keeping’s off
  11. Spargo ready to resume rehab running
  12. 22 players out warming up at the moment
  13. Jack Viney first out. Ollie is here. Tom McD ready. Tom Campbell has a club strip!
  14. Sparrow looks even more toned... he is a solid lad and seems to be improving on the two-way running... early days!
  15. I arrived early enough to witness Fritta and Salem competing in a spirited goal-kicking competition. There was much bragging and rule modification going on. At one stage a trainer was called on to adjudicate if the kicker wasn't overstepping the boundary line. It was a close thing, but Fritta claimed to be ahead before I moved on. Tom McDonald turned up in his casual gear and chatted to Tom Campbell on the boundary. Raised a question mark for me over a possible injury. No evidence to confirm this though. The main activity, when I was there, was the competitive, 9 v 8 ball-movement from goal to goal. I concentrated on the younger brigade. Speaking about goals, the set shot routines were a big improvement on previous sessions, with Roo, Kentfield, Disco and Jefferson all slotting goals. The 9 v 8 exercise lacks the pressure of a full team scenario, but ball movement is rapid. Today, Kynan B got his hands on it a lot and was more successful hitting targets. Windsor, Tholstrup, Bowey and AMW all provided excellent link up during transition. Jed Addams was good today, looking more confident and reading the ball well to out-position his forward opponent. He also took a couple of strong grabs. Petty also keeps the young forwards under pressure with his size and speed.
  16. No, just mild jogging and stretching
  17. No Ollie, Chin, Riv today, but Rick & Spargs turned up and McDonald was there in casual attire. Seston, and Howes did a lot of boundary running, and Campbell continued his work with individual trainer in non-MFC attire!
  18. For me, it's about whether Trac gets behind the team!
  19. Windsor is still lightly built, fantastic talent but not noticeably stronger than last season. I wonder if he is best suited to the wing still.
  20. There's professionalism then there's commitment.
