  1. Surely we could put Pat McKenna and Lachi Filopivic in defence at the expense of Jetta and Jones, with Daniel Cross filling up space
  2. https://predictor.squiggle.com.au There are some very interesting permutations going on that effect our round 23 match and it's easier to play around than explain. It could either be a game where GWS have top 4 spot sewn up and will rest getting us effectively into the finals (if we only win 1 of Syd/Adel/WCE heading into it) or it could be a top 4 match for US if we beat Adel & Syd ! and Syd beat GWS. The only way that it is a top 4 battle if GWS beat Syd, is if we also win all of our games leading into the match!
  3. I bet he signed perfectly on his non-preferred hand too ?
  4. After last week, i hope they bring in a starting zone for opposition kick outs, 10/6/2 perhaps?
  5. One idea for a KPD is a cheap stop-gap recruitment for the next 1 or 2 years like Lynden Dunn was. I'm thinking a player like Heath Grundy or even Harry Taylor who have found themselves on the outer in the past two weeks. If Vince retires, Lewis is more injury prone and Lever the re-injury risk im sorry to say will be for a year or two, another senior player could be useful. Though age is your obvious barrier. I'm just not sure there are any experienced 26+ year old defenders out there who are a temporary upgrade on Frost/Omac if we can't afford Steven May.
  6. Which KPD's do you have in mind and what kind of trade/price range are you thinking? Steven May is obviously ideal but could be out of our league and unavailable anyway.
  7. Re Skills, so an improvement on everyone except Oliver, Salem & Fritsch?
  8. Anything can happen if you win 15 games (16 if you count tanking in r23 v Freo) in the regular season. Though with the Doggy analogy, realistically I think sneaking in will hold us in good stead for the following year like it may have done for them.
  9. The age of premiership consent is 16
  10. if we do have to match (Like Danger did for Adelaide) I wonder if we can throw Perth origin Jeffy Garlett in as a sweetener (with Tyson + picks). He's getting older, but he'll give them 3 or 4 years of high quality small forward craft i'd have thought. Looks disinterested (in body language) as a demon right now.
  11. 2. At least ☘ (who seems like a good bloke) kicked the goal and not ?
  12. 1. We delivered the goods in a prime time slot, might hold us in good stead when fixturing comes around
  13. I reckon winning both and then losing the next three is more probable
  14. If the Saints/Nth are going to make a godfather offer, then i think we need to do a bit of creative accounting and make some tough decisions on some players, to free up some cap space to offer something resembling their offer at least for the first few years. The incentive of playing for a better team should be enough for him to take unders, you'd hope.
  15. Prefer what we'd have to give away for Wells/DalSanto/Boomer than what we'd have to give away for Hartlett, that to me is the point right now.
  16. He's a 31 year old Jaeger O'Meara. If you want to take a punt on the potential for a year or two of scintillating polished football or injury plagued sparse patches of good form, it could be worthwhile. Edit: But the issue looks like money? Not worth the punt on cap space. (550 a year?) "Has made a strong return this year" is an exaggeration isn't it? If Wells has made a strong return, the Kangas would be in the top 4.
  17. That's a lot of finals leadership experience. 2 grand finals and 4 preliminary finals
  18. 16 a side on the MCG is ridiculous. It would look messy and become unskillful as players became tired. The motto would be just to move the ball along at any cost. Messy like the womens game last weekend. The ground looked too big for them. I'm all for trialling it in pre-season though. trial anything and everything there. 7 a side on a soccer pitch is also too little a number. Maybe 10 would be better unless you had a big bench.
  19. He's basically a Brownlow medalist with his 28 votes in 2011, unfortunate that Dane Swan had such a huge year. I must admit, I've always loved hearing him on the Thursday and Sunday footy shows when he's been on so it will be great to hear him provide insight into his year at the club if he signs on. Excited to see how he plays this Saturday night (And Thompson)
  20. I would assume the assistant coaching offer means they've had a long chat with him and feel he's capable of providing leadership and coaching IQ (I'd hope)
  21. Is that offer independent of Scott Thompson's offer? Would hate to miss out on Dal Santo because we had to wait a month for Adelaide to finish their finals campaign before Thompson says NO (which is probably more likely) and another club swoops. If we want him, get him!
  22. It's probably in our best interests that the Kangaroos beat Adelaide if it hastens Scott Thompsons decision. Would suck to have him linger due to Adelaide progressing deep into September before saying 'No' and Dal Santo unofficially takes up an offer from another club, as it's clearly in his best interest to have some security and not be 2nd in line behind Thompson waiting on his decision while another offer comes to him. We could miss out on both.
  23. I wonder if they'll be playing on each other this weekend. Dal Santo vs Thompson. Winner gets a demon contract. Jokes aside, it will be interesting to see how they both go
  24. And that suits GWS/GC, but not Port Adelaide? Why wouldn't Port want a pick for next year instead?
