  1. Would take that in a heartbeat.
  2. I'd expect that to come into it. I'm sure with the Hogan deal, we'd have discussed Langdon being part of it. Freo would have tried to claim he's worth a 1st round pick, we might have said 3rd, so leave him out of it. Now he's uncontracted, so his "worth" changes again.
  3. Courage? It's his role. He has no fear of making a mistake, as he makes them consistently. Took possession. Baulked is putting it kindly. Through dumb luck (not design) the red seas parted, and he's gifted with the agility to take advantage of that. Hit the right target. He has done some things right, but he is afforded too much credit for this play. He was lucky, but the act itself was an incredibly stupid decision. Right in front of goal, and he decides to launch his body headfirst at the legs of others. He has practically begged to have a decision made against him, and has only succeeded by the incompetence of the umpire. Frosty has been capable of moments of sheer brilliance, but it is often a result of combining his supreme athleticism with sheer luck. And far too often he demoralises his teammates but making dumbfounding decisions while they're pushing hard to provide options further afield, ultimately catching them out of position and leaking easy goals. It's time to let him be somebody else's problem.
  4. The first involvement was dumb luck, the second had me holding my head in despair as it was a blatant free kick against Frost that miraculously wasn't paid. He is a deadset liability.
  5. X. I’ll let the rest play out.
  6. All positions that have been vacated, have now been filled. The names will be released in good time.
  7. So little idea... Not all players can be elite (by definition) but that doesn’t discount a player from being a good fit for your system and filling a key role.
  8. Easy comment to make now.
  9. Valid points. We’re still not pouring enough resources into this though.
  10. Yes, he might not succeed there, but I reckon it’ll be tried.
  11. I doubt he’ll be available if we split it, but I still think splitting it is the right idea.
  12. Not true at this stage, probably not at all.
  13. Combination of the resources we’re putting into it, and the junior system already in place within our catchment zone.
  14. I can see Billy ultimately having a similar career trajectory to Jetta. A lockdown small defender, albeit with less aerial ability. Professionalism is high, but he just isn’t an AFL-standard midfielder.
  15. Don’t deserve it, but honestly, the same reasons are why they NEED it.
  16. You’re missing the point - it’s simply not the end of the world.
  17. There’s simply been far too many cases like Fyfe, Cripps, Curnow, Oliver, Rozee, Stephenson, Bontempelli, etc. ad nauseum, where the best players from a draft come from outside the consensus-top-few at the time of the draft. You just have to look at the players who were duking it out for the Brownlow: Fyfe (20), Dangerfield (10), Neale (30s?), Cripps (13), Kelly (20s), Grundy (20), Coniglio (2), Zorko (rookie?), Martin (3).
  18. During the red carpet fluff-fest.
  19. It’s about improving the baseline. Not every player can be a superstar or “elite” but they can bring elite attributes and attitude.
  20. That’s the thing though isn’t it? He just can’t get a crack at it in his best position (although I’m undecided as to what that is). His flexibility has almost been to his own detriment.
  21. I didn’t mean it in a negative way, I’m a fan. But he was out of the 22 until injuries arrived. Moreso mentioning it as a reason why he would be looking at his options and whether staying would be in his best interests, flag or otherwise.
  22. Come on mate, there’s only one Titus O’Reilly. And Hamling only slipped into the side after injuries to others, much like Tomlinson.
  23. I’m sure it wasn’t simply “who has been an assistant under Clarkson” Many of the great coaches had many players and assistants who went on to be great coaches themselves... or they became known as great coaches as a result of the success that came from being surrounded by so many players and assistants who were capable of being great coaches in their own right. I’d be inclined to think that Clarkson has had a fair hand in the success that has followed him, but I wouldn’t discount the ability of someone simply because they didn’t complete a tutelage under him.
  24. If the AFL genuinely wanted a team in Tassie, they’d have someone decent running the show down there.
  25. Sadly probably true
