  1. I'd have Jordon ahead of Jackson personally.
  2. Goodys presser. Few points, - Ben Brown right in strong calculations now. Could be potentially this week. - Club is happy with Kozzies work. Defensive work and running off the charts and club is happy with his performance. Confident he'll hit scoreboard soon enough. - Jones is really strong and is hungry to get back into the side.
  3. Wouldn't be surprised if Pickett is managed this week. By managed I mean starting as a medical sub. My ins would be; In: Brown, Jones Out: Sparrow, Pickett. Medical sub: Pickett
  4. Well that's actually incorrect.
  5. From Alan Richardson. Take a look below as Richardson reviews some of Casey’s best contributors: Ben Brown 14 disposals, 8 marks, 5 goals “We really liked Ben Brown’s game, and it’s not just about the scoring – we were pleased that he was able to get some reward with five goals, but he moved really well. He’s been building his game, his training has been positive and we’ve been expecting that form to transfer to game day and it did on the weekend. If it is that we were to make a change to a winning team, he’s done everything right.” Nathan Jones 36 disposals, 11 clearances, 6 tackles, 1 goal “Nathan Jones has had a really strong period of playing good footy for about a month. He did get a lot of the ball, but we were really happy with the way he played his role and really pleased with the way he executed. He’s always been a beautiful user of the footy and the weekend was no exception. His leadership in the VFL has been really impressive – it hasn’t been about him, it’s been about the team.” Sam Weideman 21 disposals, 11 marks, 10 hit-outs, 1 goal, 3 behinds “Sam Weideman had an impressive game, but not what you might expect. His role was to play as a high forward and a bit in the ruck. He got a lot of the footy, Weids, and moved really well. He would’ve got a lot of confidence out of having 21 touches – he missed a couple of shots on goal, but we really liked the way he went about his game. He would’ve been disappointed to be out of the team but he did what he needed to do.” Jake Bowey 26 disposals, 18 kicks, 7 marks, 4 tackles “Jake Bowey had a really strong game. He’s a really creative half-back and he’s been working really closely with Troy Chaplin on making sure he has a real clarity on what he needs to do from a defensive point of view. It’s not just about beating his man but helping others and for obvious reasons, he’s a first-year player, it’s been a work in progress. But that’s starting to come together and he’s starting to put pressure on there. If it is that we were to get someone injured, we’re starting to get really comfortable with where he’s at that he could come in and play that role.” Aaron vandenBerg 28 disposals, 8 clearances, 7 marks, 6 tackles “Aaron vandenBerg is playing good footy. He’s hitting in hard – we expect that. He’s running well, he’s helping others, he’s a bit like an on-field coach the way he supports and directs. He’s done a lot of work with Fraser Rosman who plays on the wing – Rosman is really improving. So Vanders has done well there, but his own form is heading the right way. We’d feel pretty comfortable, now that he’s been able to get a bit of continuity in his training and his games, because that’s been his challenge really. We have always said that he makes us a better team, we’ve just been worried about him being able to string training sessions together to be a really consistent performer, and he’s getting there now.”
  6. Was Stringer quiet? He ended up with 24 disposals and kicked 1.2. I've been a big believer that on form alone this year he simply gets a new contract with the thought that he'll play majority of games potentially in the VFL much like what Jetta and Nathan Jones are doing now. Makes sense why the club is potentially looking at Brayden Maynard if all reports are true. The perfect replacement.
  7. Played his first game of VFL yesterday and I wasn't one bit surprised that he actually played very well. He adjusted straight away and didn't look one bit overawed. Playing against senior hard men in the Ovens and Murray league has certainly helped his adjustment. The club just want him to play a good block of consistent games in the VFL just to get up to speed with pace and structure. While senior games aren't probably in the picture, the club has certainly told him that if he is in good form and a spot opens up then he'll be seriously considered. For now it's all about developing his game for the long term future. Well done Disco!
  8. Quite bizarre really..
  9. I just think Sydney will start to fall away. I honestly don't know why, but more so on gut feel. I think they'll still make the 8, but cant see them doing much damage.
  10. The highlight was we got the 4 points. All that matters.
  11. Sydney and Essendon aren't going to trouble them just like they haven't troubled any of the other top 4 teams. These are the games they easily eat up. On the other point, yeah maybe you're right about McLean, but the other I have named like Wood and Martin alongside those 2 are important cogs to their line-up. They brought in Martin specially so they could release English more up forward the same way we are doing with Jackson. Though it hasn't quite worked due to injury, no doubt Martin and Wood will be crucial come September. It's not really much about doubt mate, more so just an opinion from what I see from a naked eye perspective.
  12. Brown and Jones will come under serious considerations next week. Jones was playing like a guy so desperate to come back into the team. Today's game was so beneficial for guys like Vanders, Melksham, Bowey who will also come under selection notice in the coming weeks with a few hard sides coming up.
  13. What do you mean benefit from a rest? They've just come off a bye with a week's rest already.
  14. Moved a lot better then I've seen him this year.
  15. Yes but we've also been beaten by 2 bottom clubs. Does that mean they are better then us? Doggies defence can be shaky, and our forwards structure set up is still questionable. When doggies played us they had Treloar, Dunkley, Stefan Martin and Toby McLean. We only had Viney. All 4 of those players are pivotal to their line up.
  16. We haven't put teams away at all and I reckon it's going to potentially cost us in the long run. I'll cop a bit for this but I honestly think the doggies are currently the best team in the comp.
  17. Just checked the doggies fixture. They've got a dream run home. Only game they could potentially drop is us only. The rest are all bottom 8 bar Port Adelaide last round.
  18. Brown putting on a strong performance so far. Has kicked 4.2 and hauled in 8 marks to go with his 13 disposals. Get him in Goody.
  19. Yes Browny again!
  20. Brown dog
  21. Jake Bowey is a bloody good footballer.
  22. Game is not pretty to watch. Forward entries are very poor and not giving our forward the right opportunity and advantage.
  23. My god Joel Smith is crud
  24. Eseendon completely flooding our forward line. Good luck trying to snag a goal.
  25. That's what I'm excited the most.
