You really do struggle to understand how a player trade works don't you..
-
You do realise he's out of contract? It's not like he's contracted and we can control what he can and can't do. If you're not wanting Freo to come to the party, especially if he has nominated them, then he can walk straight to the PSD (very unlikely outcome as we WILL trade with whoever he nominates between both WA clubs).

Jesus we are quick to turn on our own so drastically. Only just the weekend many were praising his performance as an individual. Next minute people are pretty much are calling him a [censored] for possibly wanting him to go home to his family. Whilst I would be disappointed if he left I would not begrudge him for going home if that was the case. No ONE even knows what his current circumstance may be. Even if he is missing his family we shouldn't be so quick judge and put the kid down. For all we know he may just be struggling with home sickness and potentially that's affected his mental health to some degree. Disappointing to read on here the so called parents are the ones questioning Jackson's character. Times have changed and just because your kids may have adjusted moving out, some don't adjust as easily.

I understand this argument. But with Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb at the helm I have supreme confidence we would nab an absolute gun with an early pick.

The only one I can think of was Nick Stevens who badly wanted to get to Collingwood but instead ended up at Carlton?

I'd like to look at Sam Hayes from Port Adelaide. 205cm ruckman who was an All Australian ruckman at under 18 level. Has had past history of knee concerns very similar Max Gawn at the same age. Though, he is contracted to Port until 2023. Matthew Flynn from GWS who we put in a bid for in the 2015 draft is also someone else I'd look at potentially.

That's exactly what I got out of it. I felt Goody was more confident in Brayshaw re-signing soon then Jackson.

If the opportunity is there at the end of the year to grab for 2 years I would jump at it in a heart beat. His leadership alone improves us significantly and he would play a great mentoring role on JVR. 3x premiership player, 3x leading goalkicker and All Australian forward.

Why the facepalm @Young Blood?

He's certainly in good form that's for sure. I've watched most Casey games this year and his physicality and strength for an 18 year is bloody scary. Not only that, he's shown that he's got the forward smarts and leading patterns to succeed at AFL level. 10 games in the VFL for 20 goals speaks for itself. Had he been drafted to a bottom 8 club I have no doubt that he would be playing AFL. I don't mind him learning his craft at VFL, but I really do hope he gets a taste of AFL this year because with a full pre season behind I can easily see him being in our best 22 next year. Big call, but sometimes you just watch certain players go about it and they just 'have it'.

Cal Twomey on AFL exchange reckons there's a growing consensus around the league that Jackson is going to request a trade.

Gonski for the year.

Crouch was dropped to the SANFL over the weekend.

Your first mistake was getting sucked in by Hutchy. He's nothing but a giant troll who deliberately goes out of his way to bait a headline. Ask what Paul Salmon what he thinks of hutchy...

The VFL have finally updated the correct stats for the players.

All the best Majak. Certainly a real pioneer for Sudanese kids starting out in the AFL. All the best in your future and beyond.

Maybe he's genuinely torn between being closer to his Family or being with his mates down here. I honestly don't think money is a factor in this.

Jeez you're hard task marker Nev. If you're judging key forwards on effective disposal as main key criteria then I must be doing it all wrong. Currently working part time in the development league club and I know the coaching staff and AFL recruiters value far more bigger key stat indicators for young developing key forwards such as work rate being the top priority, and the number of contest they're able to get to and from. Coaches will absolutely put a premium on that if your work rate is high the goals will eventually come. I've seen a big Improvement in his work rate and I think eventually the goals will come. Prior to the Pies game I thought his work rate had been poor and hadn't McDonald not been injured I reckon he was close to being dropped.

I think it was still a good indication that he had 2 early shots on goal in the first quarter. The 4 marks in the first quarter alone and 7 disposal still a great starting point which is why I think he was certainly busy in that quarter alone. Finished with 1.3 for the night which to me looks like he's slowly getting back into the groove of hopefully hitting the scoreboard better in the next few week. 2 weeks in a row now he's had 4 shots on goal in each. His form is reminding me of last year when he came back into the side. Just slowly starting to get back into the swing of things.

I'm still waiting for Brayden Maynard a 'certainty' to be playing for Melbourne in 2022 according to Brad Hardie last year..
-
7 disposal, 4 marks and yes 2 scoring shots is certainly busy first quarter for a key forward in my eyes. And in fairness those 2 scoring shots were from difficult angles. But yes, faded as the game went on. But i think Harris Andrew really tightened up because he was certainly playing far too loose in that first quarter.

Agree wholeheartedly.
