I was cheering like a bloody supporter! Well done Suns! Jack Riewoldt, coo that you [censored] sook!
-
To be honest I don't even recall the Oliver comment coming from you?

And trust me, I honestly thought we would have kept Weid in for the Geelong game. I was only a few that thought he actually battled well against Adelaide. You could even say that performance alone was far better output then what Jackson dished up last night. I was a bit worried going into the game with one genuine key forward and unfortunately it panned out the way I thought it would. That set up does work at all and I watched tonight's game closely to see the response and I was disappointed. Maybe he's now at a point where his confidence is completely shot from just being in and out of the team.

Bro relax, we won.

I'll reply to your second point. It'll be far worse having your team rely on a forward line that has your VFL depth forward in Weideman as your main key forward alongside a 1st game as your second key tall. That's just a recipe for disaster especially coming up against an All Australian defender in Alir Alir who'll eat Weid alive. If you're going to debut JVR it has to be when a senior experienced key forward such as Ben Brown is there for the physical support and also take the pressure off him. On your first point, Browns first half was exceptional. Had 5 marks to half time and looked like he was set for a big half until we decided to just constantly bomb it down the line on his head. Not even plugger Lockett could have mark anything with that delivery. On Weideman's performance tonight. I Watched the game from start to finish and kept a close eye hoping he'd play well. He was a major disappointment. Poor body language, got beaten comprehensively by Geelong's Angus Byrne who not only out outmarked him at times but defended really well. As you've said in the past, Weideman is only depth and and should only be playing AFL footy if either Brown or Jackson go down with injury. He's been given opportunities to perform this year and has failed to grab those with both hands.
-
Dropping Ben Brown for Weid off the back off Weids pretty poor performance tonight? Laughable.

Jesus that was some performance by Bailey Laurie. I've never seen a kid that young just so ridiculously clean and handle the ball like it was dry weather. Honestly would drop Spargo for Bailey. His work rate also was extremely high. We certainly have a good one here.. JVR took 6 contested marks in one of the wettest and shocking conditions you'll see at Geelong. Calling it now but the kid will be a star at AFL level. Thought Dunstan was really exceptional. He obviously comes straight in for Oliver next week. Sparrow considers himself very lucky there...
-
Jesus Jaded this is seriously very unlike of you.. We need to cool the jets yeah? This whole media circus about him nominating Freo has come from one bloke only and that's Jon Ralph. For now lets chill out until official confirmation, meanwhile let's continue to support Jacko while he's playing in the red and blue yeah?
-
He also said Luke Dunstan had met with dees well before it came out in the media last year and was a certainty to sign. He's had more right then wrong and has great links through his friend through player management.
-
So yeah.. that's incredibly bizarre and this type of scenario has never ever happened in AFL trade history and it certainly won't happened with Jackson. Again, once they've nominated a club, they're getting there. To technically get picked up by North he has to physically sign a contract. He would never in a million years play for another Melbourne club via a PSD draft. Why does everyone think Melbourne will be this complete badass come trade time lol. We've never operated this way and have built incredibly strong relationships with other clubs during trade time due to our professional style in getting deals done without any issues.
-
Well said.
-
He's not screwing us at all Jaded. He's out of contract and has the right to request a trade to his club of choice. The moment he nominates Freo we'll facilitate the best deal for the club. You're forgetting we have Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb who have facilitated some of the best deals going sound in years.
-
Seriously you two.. Do you guys understand that Jackson going into the PSD is the worst possible outcome that could happen to our football club. We get absolutely zero benefit out of this and get completely shafted. Whether you like it or not Jackson is out of contract. The moment we he nominates Freo, that's exactly who we have to deal with. Players has more power now days then the actual club especially when out of contract and nominate a set club. You can pretend to talk tough all you want but at the end of the day, the club (Melbourne) need to find the best possible deal it can to be satisfied. Name me one big out of contact player that nominated a club of choice but then was forced to be traded to another because it didn't suit the clubs set requirements. It doesn't happen now days.

So predictable that Geelong players were already set up on the left side just before May would kick out. So what did we do? Kick to the same exact spot for Geelong to then out number us around the contests. Yeah nah awesome work to the brain thrusts sitting in the coaches box.
-
This has been my gripe this year. Kozzie 15 games and 20 goals. Spargo 16 games and 6 goals ANB 15 games and 4 goals. Bedford 7 games and 8 goals. I know it's simple not all about goals but jesus christ you'd expect a bit more more offensive output from both Spargo and ANB.
-
Well yeah I worded that wrong. Imo I personally think he's ready full stop.
-
Agree to disagree. Could mount a strong case why I think he's potentially ready for AFL action but I can't be [censored] lol. Looking forward to watching him tonight though and a few others pushing for selection.

194cm aggressive key forward who loves nothing but to crash packs and launch at the footy. From a physical size point of view he's ready to go, It'll be more around the step up in terms of AFL intensity and match fitness. Not only that, he's got some serious jukes on him for such a young kid. His contesting marking was elite at under 18 level and from what I've seen of him this year that's carried into VFL level. His stats alone at VFL level this year speaks for itself. 10 games 20.7 goals and averaging 4.3 marks per game. Small glimpse.

Still concussed from the Melksham jab.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN

These stats explain absolutely nothing. @Turner asked for a valid reason why these blokes should stay on the list and you've put up these meaningless stats with no explanation? -
I get the frustrating with some with him leaving. He played a factor in our drought winning premiership and I'll always thank him for giving me that premiership joy. It's disappointing that he'll potentially leave, but the way I look at this I think this could be a huge advantage for our playing list moving forward. I'm a huge believer that if we are to continue to challenge in September consistently you have to find ways to regenerate your list with fresh talent. 1. Starting point is two 1st round picks. At least a top 10 pick in this year's draft as a starting point. No later then top 12. Great opportunity to grab an elite midfielder that may slide. Elite talent like Hewett, Sheezel, Tsatas would genuinely give our midfield mix a whole different dynamic. If we're wanting to go tall then there is Jedd Busslinger from WA who's an elite defender at 197cm or Aaron Cardman who's an elite key forward. I feel like these are much bigger needs for our list moving forward. Jason Taylor has a rich history of nailing first round picks and the thought or him having his hands on this year's talent excites me. 2. Frees up salary space. Simple as that. If we need to target an experienced key position player then like we did with May then we'll have the space for it.
-
I would without hesitation.

Langdon gave him an almighty spray afterwards. I think as supporters we were genuinely waiting for that exact moment you pointed out to happen. I nearly threw my cat through the TV when he chose to dribble kick instead. It's frustrating because in country footy I've seen blokes on my team or opposition benched nearly for a whole quarter from selfish acts such as this. Wish that happened tonight.
