No worries. Point taken Imo I just simply dont see him as a fit for us during the finals series and think it would be a backward step in terms completely putting our forward mix out of shape with his inclusion.

Who's he replacing first up? Weather wise it's leaning towards being a wet Thursday night game, so already I'm putting a line through his name. His last performance under slippery conditions against Carlton was sub par hence Goody dropped him the following week. I know Goody has said he's in the mix but to be honest I think that's his way of wanting to deflect from all the Grundy talk as he's obviously sick of it being brought up every week. Imo they'll choose McDonald and only way Grundy plays September is if Gawn is out injured.

Look, I was disappointed the moment we drafted him purely because I wasn't a fan of his draft highlights as he looked timid and lacked the physical competitiveness that Goody loves in players, so I was honestly shocked as well with this pick. But I was wrong about McVee last year at VFL level and thought he'd be delisted. So I'm super reluctant to write the kid off early. Based on my observations this year I haven't really been impressed that much. Hopefully a big pre season will change all that just like it did for McVee.

Players come and go but the footy club will always be there. That kind of poor mentality gets you no where. He could be the greatest bloke in the world for all I care but if Goody sees fit that he isn't in our best 22 for a premiership then I'm taking the coach over supporters who are caught up in romance in sport. He's not in our best 22 for a reason and I'll back the the premiership coach supports who purely want him in the side because he's a "good bloke."

Overall a good performance from Casey for the year. Dropping the last 3 games didn't help our chances and some season ending injuries as well. Back bigger and better next year.

Goody hates talking about it every single week and so he should because his primary focus should will be on the 22 that will be playing.

I must admit I'm pretty disappointed that to hear that he's gone and met with a club right on the eve of finals and with a club that we're potentially contending against. I am all for players meeting up with clubs etc because that's the nature of the game and we've done it in the past ourselves. But it's about picking the appropriate time and space. Doing this while his current club is still contending and he's trying to break back into the team should br his absolute prime focus. All he had to do was respectfully wait after the finals series and advise Port that he would be fully focussing on thr job at hand and park any trade talk aside. We haven't told him he's done. Listen to Goody in his pressers and he's always saying how much of a required player he is and that he's still an integral part of our future. It's Grundy who doesn't feel the same hence why he's meeting with other clubs.

Hibberd is cooked. The last time he played on Jamie Elliot was last year round 21 and Elliot gave him a bath and kicked 4 goals on him. Love Hibberd, but he's lost his pace and would struggle to keep up with the quicker forwards. 33 year old who would get shown own under thr finals pressure cooker. I mean, no coincidence that Goody hasn't considered him much at all since he got beaten badly by Gary Rogan in his last full game. McVee will get the job and do the job just fine just like he's done all year on the dangerous forwards.
