Round 20 - Non MFC Games.
It’s funny isn’t it when people talk about this. We beat north when they were top 8 and being talked about as contenders and we smashed Adelaide when they were 4th and looking good to back up thier last season. But people only look at the ladder today.

There is a role for Bugg
While I concur he will have a kicking routine that is heavily ingrained, it most certainly can be improved. It just takes more work (on his and his coaches behalf) than changing the kicking style of a 15yo. So the question would seem to be, is his kicking accuracy the main reason he doesn’t get a game (it’s definitely not that he isn’t creating enough opportunity to score)? Or other factors that we are not aware of?

You think a 25yo can’t change? You didn’t get better at your job past 25 years of age?

The 2018 Membership Ladder
Seriously how are some of those clubs recording such massive jumps in memberships? Would love to see a breakdown of membership type. Also, how the frog does St Kilda have more members than us??? Edit: how many games does a full membership get you into? All home only?

There is a role for Bugg
Has played 3 games this year for 11 scoring shots (4G/7B) = 3.6 shots per game Jeffy 9 games for 22 shots on goal (15G/7B) = 2.4 shots per game If his conversion rate was better he would be ahead of Jeffy easily. Surely there is someone in Australia we can buy to help him and others kick better?

Round 23 Fixture Announced
Hahahah and they still manage to give Carlton a night game (Saturday). Unbeleivable! PS Very happy with our Sunday PM times slot just FYI.

ROUND 19 - Non MFC games
Looks like Wooshas chat with umpires has paid off. Perhaps we should do similar

THE ROAR MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS
Title should say raw rather than roar (unless the stats are only related to the lions and tigers who both enjoy a good roar from time to time)

State of the game
The best game of umpiring I’ve ever seen was Melb v Adel last year in Adelaide. One of the starting umpires got injured early in the game and was replaced by the emergency who promptly got injured himself. This meant there was one less umpire on the ground than normal for much of the game. The result was only the blatantly obvious frees were paid which allowed the game to flow and at no stage we’re you sitting there thinking “BUT YOU PAID THAT FOR THEM YOU MAGGOT!”. Frees paid in that game we’re 21 to 16 which doesn’t seem much lower than normal, just the frees were definitely there and no tiggy touch wood ones were paid.

Cats to ask for home final
More than happy to play there again, we lost of our own bat, not at their hands.

Changes vs Adelaide
Disagree with your extensive analysis of the situation but happy you’ve found your scapegoat. For mine it’s a little more complex than that.

Changes vs Adelaide
Agree 100%. Hogan would kick a bag if A he knew how to lead hard, B if they could kick it with precision to him like we do to the the opposition spare man in defense every week. We’re asking O’Mac to take the #1 forward each week, then being lazy with our whole ground defense, then blaming him when he gets beaten. Doesn’t seem logical to me

Changes vs Adelaide
As much as I hate Bugg kicking behinds after doing all the hard work, he has more potential to win us a game (see north game, 4 goals, 1 behind) than Garlett atm so would be happy to see that swap.

POSTMATCH DISCUSSION - Round 18
Not sure it is really. If a player has trade power and is finding it difficult to learn the basic skill of leading hard towards the bloke with the ball, then people have every right to ask the question. People argued trading Watts for pick 31 was a mistake, which clearly it wasn’t as we have a player who is miles better than Watts could ever dream of being. Could not the same be true in this instance? If we got a first and second round pick for him or 2 firsts then perhaps we end up with two better players?

POSTMATCH DISCUSSION - Round 18
Wow your powers of zen are much greater than mine. Funnily enough as my name on here suggest, I’m a coach. After spending the whole week curbing my rage at just how dopy teenage and young adults can be, watching grown men make the same type of mistakes a 16yo would make, has me exploding with rage. I broke a chair last night after that final mark and goal then stormed out to my car and drove around the block a few times so as to not wake the little ones. On Monday I will return to work and again be cool calm and collected whilst I go over the fundamentals yet again of something seemingly so simple!

Ruck danger
They don’t anticipate that some coaches will exploit new rules in a way that is not in the spirit of the game and that some will stubbornly not exploit them. If everybody either exploits them or does not exploit them, then it’s a level playing field. It’s when some do and some don’t that a problem exists.

POSTMATCH DISCUSSION - Round 18
Just imagining Goodies press conference “Yeah the boys learned a lot tonight. So many good lessons. We’re on a journey. Set our own history.I though they were super in the last.” Every Demon supporter “Shut why [censored] up and just get the [censored] job done!” (Thinking “Wish I followed any other team”)
