  1. But do they get to discount - covertly or overtly - 'what they pay' because of what we 'would have paid'? (will be paying?)
  2. Loving the surreptitious growth in real 'Lander interest in the women. They're not 'the girls', as distinct from 'the boys'; they're the Demons. Their highs, lows, and successes will soon be - if they're not already - fully ours.
  3. Good on Jonesy if he did. However, I'm not aware that was a door, or a queue of knockers, we outsiders had the benefit of seeing?
  4. The overt promotion of 'Let's make it a sell-out' will provide a test of that, DIO. No disrespect, only respect for the organisation: I hope that test is well passed.
  5. ...and it's one way to avoid a return to Bruce-free football?
  6. Thanks, Poita. Big boy. And. it seems, yet another inch taller now?
  7. Gets my vote. Chappy, though?
  8. Or someone'connected' told someone not connected, who made the conscious decision...
  9. That is a very good get, reynolds! Straight to the top of the plus side of the ledger. Did he and our putative coach work together? Well?
  10. ...and a Norm Smith for Trac. In a winning side.
  11. Good get, Doc. Qualifies for the 'Who??' list, immune from the ledger.
  12. Really? Well, what symmetry if our putative next coach can deliver 6 premierships!
  13. Memories, to the max! Thank you, Mr Stone!
  14. Sorta what I was getting at 😄 How could I have forgotten Grundy?! Where to put him on the ledger?
  15. So, I see, did Henry Coles! (as well as #3?)
  16. Speaking of... In his on-line thingy with Jimmy Bartel (so overtly at the 'G - grrrr...) he is adamant that an appointment will be made 'before the grand final'. I suppose one could say, 'Well, derrr!' But he may also have some 'inside'. He's much fluffier on the who and the coach and coach/management mix, though. More of what 'Collingwood' has/n't given us.
  17. What happened to '29, Goffy? Don't stint! A '28-to-'31 four-peat has a particularly relevant ring to it, 100 years on.
  18. Just watched on Youtube. 200th game. Some celebration, too! Happy to move him, ledger-wise.
  19. Yep. Particularly after sitting through the '23 qualifying final. Never again... Gonna have to do some brain-rinsing, then, if he gets the job.
  20. With an iconic Magpie hovering over the Demons (and we all know what they want to do from there, come springtime!) I thought it might be diverting to reflect on what black-and-whiters have donned the red and blue, and whether it has ended happily. Peter Moore might be on the plus side of the ledger (though his offspring is doing a good job on that legacy). And Gary Pert at least presided over a premiership organisation. The others I could think of are variously from somewhat to deeply into the other side of the ledger: Phil Carman, Mark Neeld, Chris Dawes, Heretier Lamumba, Ben Kennedy. I looked up some others: in the 'Too-long-ago-to-judge' category are the pre-First-World-War Abbott siblings, Les and Clarrie, our 1921-23 captain-coach, Percy Wilson, and Pies four-peat member Billy Libbis, in '33-'35; in the 'Who??' category are Wayne Gordon and John Dellamarta. Any others? Discuss?
