My analysis: We were never going to beat sydney as they are one of the top. 2 teams with or without injury ( but they have no injuries) Good on Roos for identifying we had no chance to win so playing, spencer, Toump and stretch

I agree Cross would be great to have around the club but hopefully we improve/ recruit well enough for Cross to fall out of our best 22 -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 6

Cross will go at seasons end to make way for Viney, Brayshaw, Petracca, VanD, hopefully Trengrove and the already established on ballers jones, Tyson, and whoever else we may pick up in pre season. He continues to be a great servant of the club though. -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 6

Very courageous In's by Roosy this week against a full strength Sydney. I feel for Grimesy not getting a second game to try rebuild confidence but I see the outs and I see the in's and I think, past and future. I'm excited!!!!! -
Lloydy finished by saying he's stayed in the team while having bad form due to a lack of depth. He also acknowledge new players like Brayshaw and Vandenberg who are earning there spots. I Agree with what he was saying tonight but it's nothing we don't already know

I love how Hodges QC pushed for him to only be rubbed out for 2 games due to lack of force.

Footscray v Casey Scorpions - Round 2, 2015
redlegwarrior replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Macca, I want all our kids to succeed as much as you do. I'm only getting to know the Toump as a player and today I saw him as a winner of the ball, good in tight, has poise but needs to get better with those cheeky creative possessions. He didn't run run lines today so if we're going like for like he doesn't step in for Kent, at the moment. We'll need a shuffle for next week though, that's why Roosys on the big bucks. Won't be disappointed if Toump is in next week -

A lot of flat footed possession. Didn't see him stream down the ground like Grimes or Terlich. He won a lot of contested ball so could come in as a stopping small defender but couldn't see him up the field at this stage -
Footscray v Casey Scorpions - Round 2, 2015

Footscray were fluent and skilled in movement. They'd have about 6-8 blokes who could step into the seniors confidently. Casey worked hard but couldn't string plays together like the opposition.Riley was great extracting the ball from packs. Grimes was clean in the contest, he created play and used the ball well through the corridor. I've been a massive knock on him in the past but today he looked good and could step back in. Terlich was strong in the contest and gave a lot of drive. Put his hand up also. Toump faded in and out. Has a lot of poise but not sure if you'd line him up on the wing in the seniors and probably a couple in front of him for a back position. Fitzys fustrating in the sense that with a bit more mongrel he'd be being playing 1's. Won some good contests out of the back line in the last quarter but the game was over. -

Great quarter by Riley in tight. Grimes winning ball well off half back and giving run. He's put his hand back up for senior selection. Younger boys went missing that quarter. Caseys tackling (too high) has been atrocious. -

Great quarter by Grimes predominantly on ball. Won plenty of clearances with poise and gave great drive through the center. Terlich giving good run and drive through the corridor as well. Toump strong, has heaps of time at this level but would like to see more run and carry in second half. They'd be my Demon top 3 ATM -
one of which will be the winning goal.... After the siren

I'd like to see some balance in the forward line. JKH or Brayshaw for Frost. Won't happen but Garlett couldn't go solo at the Blues and won't be able to do it here. Unfortunately, we need to wait a year or 2 to be calling changes on our on ball brigade but it will happen Having a win on the board is more than a pass mark for me thus far

Agree D, that Dawes and Bernie come in now but that's to beat GWS. When we get over GWS I hope the coaching staff will manage players appropriately over the next 2 weeks after that to get results.
-
Two interstate games in a row followed by Anzac Eve game will already be planned out; so that said; Best team in this week hence, Vince, Dawes in. Whoever misses out this week will probably get another go when we put the cue in the rack out at Adelaide and then Roosy's best team comes in for Richmond on Anzac Eve

Elsternwick Park - anyone heard about this?
redlegwarrior replied to pitmaster's topic in Melbourne Demons
Played a couple of grannies at old elstenwick in my time. Can be an open ground to conditions and would prefer the central position we have at the moment from a fan/marketing prospective
