  1. Riddler is a troll and laughing their head off.
  2. It makes sense if one reads the play and what has been said today. But don't say it too loudly...
  3. When it makes sense it makes sense. I'm better than that ? What a stupid comment to make.
  4. You can't see the difference between Wright towing the party line while he's in damage control with Melbourne saying we haven't even spoken with Brisbane and we have no interest ? Why would we confirm interest in Hibberd and Lewis, but state we haven't even enquired about Rockliff ? Anyway, your and my BS detectors clearly work differently. I'll stick with last line in my previous post, but also recognise that there are (clearly) degrees of everything.
  5. When it's as emphatic as Melbourne saying they haven't even spoken to Brisbane and that they have no interest in Rockliff then it won't be happening. Surely intelligent people can (now) read the play.
  6. Hudson just stated that Melbourne have ruled out interest and have never spoken to Brisbane about Rockliff.
  7. There's no doubt they'd stake a claim and I usually preface my comments about our young group by excluding GWS, but I'm pretty comfortable where we sit against them. Gawn is better than any under 25 ruck they have. Hogan is at least the equivalent of Cameron as a key forward. Cameron kicks more goals, but I prefer Hogan's forward play. Lobb is a gun. I see no reason Weideman won't become the equal of Patton on what I've seen. The two McDonalds will be very good key defenders for a long time. Losing Marchbank won't help them. Oliver, Viney, Tyson, Brayshaw, Salem, Stretch, Hunt, Kent, and Petracca measure up against Shiel, Coniglio, Scully, Greene, Kelly, Whitfield, Smith, Williams, Wilson, and Haynes. And a little birdy tells me that internally they rate Joel Smith the equal of Hunt, so watch this space in 2017. I wouldn't spend time arguing the point, but I see our young group very much the equal of GWS.
  8. Terry said he was going to look into it as there'd been a lot of talk about it over the weekend. He knew about the rumours, but wasn't sure where it was coming from.
  9. Rockliff is outspoken with a poor filter, but he means well. He challenges coaches and his fellow players. A change of scenery to a club with a developing culture is probably in order. I have faith in Goodwin, McCartney and the other coaching group to have him pushing in the right direction. I rate Rockliff's ability to play midfield and forward. Our coaching group is now second to none and I have faith he could be successfully implemented into our gameplan and be more damaging than he has been recently at Brisbane. Lewis, Hibberd and Rockliff would be nothing short of incredible for a club that now rates going through the draft and had so little to offer up for trades. I fully suppirt the strategy, because we have the best group of young players already stockpiled in the league. If it all comes off the sky is the limit in 2017.
  10. I'm not a fan of Scully, but I find the posting of family photos, albeit public photos, in extremely poor taste.
  11. I've always hated riddles and riddlers.
  12. The only comment I recall being made was that he "talks too much". That in itself wouldn't necessarily preclude interest from the MFC.
  13. What Lewis is worth and what he's traded for may be two separate things.
  14. I'm far from convinced Rockliff will become a Dee, but I also see no point publicly calling a poster a liar when I simply don't know their intentions. So I'll assume they believe what they say, but I also won't be invested in the information. Naturally, others can please themselves.
  15. One is on a hiding to nothing sharing inside info, but I have no reason to doubt you. Thanks for sharing and I for one hope it happens.
  16. Joel Smith could be a star and may well take the Frost role. He's as fast with an incredible leap. A tad shorter, but he plays tall. I can see Smith being a staple in defence next year if he has a big summer.
  17. Nathan Jones 20 January 1988 Jordan Lewis 24 April 1986 1 year and 9 months. How do you get 1 year and 8 months ?
  18. https://www.theguardian.com/profile/craig-little And apparently the comment to Little was "directly from a mate of Jordan's".
  19. Yes, I said nearly two years. My only interest in your (incorrect) assertion was that the trade was the equivalent of Jones being traded next year for pick 70. If anything, it would be the equivalent of him being traded in 2018. Lewis played nearly all of 2016 as a 30 year old (bar 5 games) and Jones played all of 2016 as a 28 year old. 2018 is a much closer analogy than end of season 2017. And why would I start calling Jones and A-grader ?
  20. No, it would be the equivalent at the end of 2018, not next season. Lewis is nearly two years older than Jones. And two years is a long time in footy.
  21. The draft is fine. Pick 53 Oscar, 53 Tom, 57 Hunt. Think of names like that when you think of 48. No guarantees we pick up players of that calibre, but every chance with Taylor et al.
  22. This has zero to do with WJ and everything to do with you naming your source. As soon as I read that you were the nephew of a Fitzroy great and current AFL captain I thought he's the nephew of John Murphy, or at least that was the declaration. I then saw WJ's post and wondered why he sought clarification, because there was no other scenario. There was no other choice other than John Murphy. You outed yourself, which is fine, as it was your choice. As for the veracity of your claims ? I have no clue. I hope they're correct.
  23. Notwithstanding his second in the B&F this year, Lewis' definitely started getting exposed around the outside of contests. Not often, but it started happening. That said, he'd improve us as a side, so he's well worth securing for a year or two. We're in the middle of a culture change and a player like Lewis can only help in that regard.
  24. Much the same with Deledio, who is on $800K. Richmond want to free up cap-space and see Deledio, who plays as a 30 year old next year, as expendable in their list revamp.
  25. If a list is young and crap there's no point "boasting". We put out the youngest team more often than not and won 3 on the trot, beat Collingwood twice, beat Hawthorn, beat Port over there, beat GWS, and had only one ten goal loss. For the youngest team in the league there was a bit to crow about. But the youngest team in the competition won't win a flag, which is all I care about. Hibberd will be a terrific addition to our defence, while I'm less sure about Melksham. Importantly, we have a group that can grow together. If we could get a 26-28 year old gun I'm all for it. Easier said than done. With that said, I have little clue with what you're on about or if you're being critical of my stance on our young list.
