That was the worst margin we should have won by. It felt like a 100 point dominance.

I don't give a stuff about Abbott. He had his chance and blew it on issues where he should have made a stance. But I love the hypocrusy of leftist feminists. The type who attack Trump, here and overseas, yet they utter not a word about honour killings or wife beatings within Islam. And refuse to denounce Muslim leaders who spew their garbage in our communities. Lefties, like you, keep your gobs shut too.

I love the hypocrisy of leftist feminists. They have seizures over a Tony Abbott wink, yet are silent over a Muslim leader saying it's acceptable to beat your wife. The left are the most hypocritical scumbags on the planet.

Watts didn't want to go into detail, but on 7 news mentioned it revolved around training "intensity" issues.

Brendan McCartney thinks he has the best footy brain he's come across. Says he's really respected by the players, but also "hard". Our improvement in 2016 is down to Goodwin's new game-plan, which is still a work in progress. Credit to Roos for allowing Goodwin to take the 2016 preseason and implement the changes he wanted to make. I reckon we're in great hands with Goodwin, but he'll obviously learn as he goes and is not immune to error.

An understandable impression. I actually really really want Watts to succeed, but it's fair to say he's frustrated me his whole career. I knew he could play far better than what he dished out in his first 7 years and could never understand why so many supporters set the bar so low for him. This site is riddled with Watts apologists. As improved as it was, 2016 was a minimum requirement from my perspective, as he can still be so much better. I have zero respect for Watts' talent. He did nothing to earn it. He was lucky enough to be born with it. It's what you do with your talent that's important. Nick Riewoldt was born with talent too, but he's made the most of it with an incredible work ethic. Some get it though. Binman gets it. He and I have differed for years on Watts, but he acknowledges that the story is Watts, it's not Goodwin, or what the club is divulging or not divulging. The story is a player entering his 9th year who seemingly is too satisfied on the back of one good year. But we have supporters here potting Goodwin and the club, instead of the player who's letting himself, his teammates and coaches down.

I appreciate the sentiments, however, it's not lost on me that if you conduct yourself like I historically have then you open yourself up to scrutiny and in part bring it upon yourself.

I agree. There was context to the post I was replying to.

Stay left. You fit in well.

Loving the standards Goodwin is setting. He's developing a hard-nosed premiership quality list where everyone knows what's required to play footy under him. The fact that I don't know the exact parameters Watts isn't meeting is irrelevant. I don't need to know.
-
Listen Scoop, if you didn't believe him you wouldn't have shared your conversation and used the words "he's fine".

Well if he'd been meeting the preseason criteria that others have then he'd be playing, wouldn't he ? So, obviously, his training hasn't been satisfactory. Yes ? Tom McDonald said he'd improved over recent weeks. Gawn suggested he was right to play, but others have been ahead with their training. Mahoney says "he knows what he needs to work on". I'm not sure why you're asking the question. Clearly, his training standards, or ethics, or perhaps game-plan delivery have been unsatisfactory. What exactly, we don't know. But unsatisfactory nonetheless.
-
And there's still some that have a weird conspiracy theory. How about "unsatisfactory preseason training standards" ? Nah, that's too fat fetched. FMD.
-
So I take it you're no longer comfortable with your view ?
-
But but this is all BS. The rumours are wrong. Aren't they ?

How about Jack has hung himself out to dry ?

I've said it's not a major issue (as far as I know). The rest is stating FACT.

Jetta has only recently returned to training with the main squad due to a quad injury. Obviously they're careful of his loads following this recent stint in rehab. The linked article from less than two weeks ago identifies this in the last paragraph. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-02-10/brayshaw-bounces-back-to-add-to-the-mix Don't thank me, happy to help.

No, it's all over a senior player entering his ninth season not being considered for a best 29 squad due to unsatisfactory training standards. A player who has had one good year in eight and seemingly gets pretty happy with himself a little too quickly. A player that needs to be get dropped occasionally, like round 23 2015 so that he doesn't coast. Goodwin and McCartney are ensuring he gets the message and understands the brand and standards required at the MFC 2017. But yes, it's not a major issue.

Just a couple of snippets from someone who was there for 30 minutes. He didn't see Frost train. Garlett just walked laps, so one would think there's perhaps a slight query. Could that rumoured hamstring be a minor niggle ? And in better news, Tyson and Kent trained fully with the main group.
-
I disagree. Imo, this isn't about one performance in one intra-club match. To be not included in a squad of 29 is a statement and being down in one match in a 5 month preseason wouldn't lead to that.

That's what I meant...

What I've learnt ? Stu must be on holiday, otherwise this thread would be 20 pages. Don't take too much notice of track watchers and their inside word. Fun to read, but justa bit of fluff to sate the appetite.

Under the Leading Teams model players are very accountable with each other and of course the leadership group knows what's going on with individual players and has meetings with the coaching group.
