  1. But but this is all BS. The rumours are wrong. Aren't they ?
  2. How about Jack has hung himself out to dry ?
  3. https://twitter.com/Stevo7AFL 2 replies1 retweet1 like Reply 2 Retweet 1 Like 1 Mark Stevens‏@Stevo7AFL 42m42 minutes ago More Reckon there's a bit of sting left in Jack Watts story. Expect him to be left out AGAIN. Will be official soon @7NewsMelbourne
  4. I've said it's not a major issue (as far as I know). The rest is stating FACT.
  5. Jetta has only recently returned to training with the main squad due to a quad injury. Obviously they're careful of his loads following this recent stint in rehab. The linked article from less than two weeks ago identifies this in the last paragraph. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-02-10/brayshaw-bounces-back-to-add-to-the-mix Don't thank me, happy to help.
  6. No, it's all over a senior player entering his ninth season not being considered for a best 29 squad due to unsatisfactory training standards. A player who has had one good year in eight and seemingly gets pretty happy with himself a little too quickly. A player that needs to be get dropped occasionally, like round 23 2015 so that he doesn't coast. Goodwin and McCartney are ensuring he gets the message and understands the brand and standards required at the MFC 2017. But yes, it's not a major issue.
  7. Just a couple of snippets from someone who was there for 30 minutes. He didn't see Frost train. Garlett just walked laps, so one would think there's perhaps a slight query. Could that rumoured hamstring be a minor niggle ? And in better news, Tyson and Kent trained fully with the main group.
  8. You're a very smart man.
  9. I disagree. Imo, this isn't about one performance in one intra-club match. To be not included in a squad of 29 is a statement and being down in one match in a 5 month preseason wouldn't lead to that.
  10. That's what I meant...
  11. What I've learnt ? Stu must be on holiday, otherwise this thread would be 20 pages. Don't take too much notice of track watchers and their inside word. Fun to read, but justa bit of fluff to sate the appetite.
  12. Under the Leading Teams model players are very accountable with each other and of course the leadership group knows what's going on with individual players and has meetings with the coaching group.
  13. I didn't expect a coherent response. Thanks anyway.
  14. That's great and while I'm annoyed that a player entering his 9th year has given us two thirds of SFA over his career seemingly still doesn't get it, I agree it's a minor issue in a presently story deprived AFL. But weren't you one of the ones bemoaning this story as BS and a fabrication by reporters who get their info via fan forums ? Now you've reverted to "I don't care" ? It's somewhat significant that a top 5 B&F player can't make a squad of 29 five months later due to training standards. Such is the grand scale of delusion on this thread there will still be plenty in denial. "It's his hand you know..." And yes, it's a storm in a teacup. But at least you're starting to acknowledge the cup exists.
  15. What ? How about he decides who's not putting in the hard yards and he decides how to manage his players ? FMD
  16. JACK Watts is "absolutely" in Melbourne's best 22, but needs to maintain consistent training standards to win his place back in the Demons' side, according to teammate Tom McDonald. "Jack's had a really good two or three weeks and understands what is required to be selected in the team," McDonald said. "Jack's been doing the right thing, especially the last two or three weeks and he's in line to play again soon. "He understands what he needs to do to get picked in the team and so does everybody else." How anyone can be in doubt that Goodwin sent a message to Watts is actually quite amusing.
  17. Copuchas, Binman, and Wrecker and a couple of others have rare sense. Simon Goodwin states "we want to get games into our best 24". That was the first time I thought it strange Watts wasn't playing. We knew why Tyson, Kent, Hibberd and Jetta weren't out there, but Watts was the anomaly. And Goodwin didn't reference him. A poster then says he had it on good authority that there was more to it and it involved attitude. Naturally, said poster pilloried. Now two journalists from different radio stations have said they've heard from sources within the club that Watts was fit, but not selected due to training standards. Naturally, it's claimed it's all BS and that they're making it up. The delusion on this thread is a sight to behold. Thick as bricks.
  18. Seemingly, I'm one of the few disappointed that a player entering his ninth year, off the back of one good year where he placed top 5 in the B&F, was left out of a squad of 29 due to unsatisfactory training efforts efforts. Granted, it's a small story and I doubt it will impact his year, but it reinforces an immaturity that helps explain why he's produced very little in the first 7 years of his career and has never threatened to get near the leadership group.
  19. I've only replied to comments directed at me. Such as yours. You're more interested in me than I am in you, which is why you would have quoted me 500 more times than I've ever quoted you. It's not lost on me. Look, how do I put this nicely, the broader populace are morons, so it would be folly for me to be concerned by their views.
  20. I think I've made it clear that I don't give a flying zzzz what anyone else thinks. If you don't believe it good on you. It concerns me not.
  21. Apparently, a sports journo would spread a rumour from a poster on a fan forum and pretend it's his own. People actually believe this is more likely than him having a source connected to the club. Apparently, training reports from boundary supporters are a legitimate source of whether this report is true or not. Apparently, if Watts plays well on Sunday, or in round one, there can't be any validity to this story, because the subsequent weeks/months wouldn't be enough for him to get his fitness to an acceptable level. No wonder the Greens get votes.
  22. Google non-sequitur.
  23. Why wouldn't I share it ? I'd just heard it on radio and it validated a recent report from a fellow poster. I also realise that not all posters live locally and would be likely to hear the discussion. Listening online wouldn't be everyone's bag. It's unusual to be criticised for sharing information. I also don't believe it will effect his chances of being selected in round one. It's a message I suspect he's heard loud and clearly from a young coach who's universally loved by the playing group, but able to show he's hard when he needs to be. For me it seems dense to think this whole story has been concocted. But I don't wear a tinfoil hat.
  24. Unlike trade rumours these types that go to air by a sports show invariably have reasonable elements of truth to them. But as I've previously stated, if posters don't want to believe their darling has come back from the preseason in anything less than A-one condition they can. Having posted hear for 15 years it's fair to say I have a healthy disregard for the views of most.
  25. No. Just annoyance that a bloke who has had one good year in 8 gets ahead of himself. He owes his himself, his club and his teammates far more than that.
