Billy Stretch - Stress Fracture / Toe
Probably isn't the training regime that caused the injury, was probably bitten on the toe by petracca's f'king dog!

My 3 word player analysis V Fremantle
MFC - small forward problems Garlett did a bit, but not enough. Spargo was similar. We are in desperate need of a solution when the ball is brought to ground inside our forward 50. Melksham and Nibbler are also cooling off meaning we are very Hogan and Tmac reliant for kicking a winning score I don't have the answer, but this might be something to address in the draft.

Harmes and Wagner re-sign
Chomp earned his 2 years. Has continued to build his game and is in best 22 now. A bit surprised with wags, but it makes sense for depth considering Vince might not go on and lever is 10 months away from playing footy. I hope both boys can have some success

Yeats, Grinter, Green, Yze, Bruce, and others et al
I f we want to cultivate a premiership culture then we need to recruit coaches with premiership experience. No point bringing our old crew back, they haven't tasted premiership success so how are they going to help build a premiership culture here?

Lewis on AFL360
At least Lewis didn't reference bathwater or fugazi.... I'm glad he came out and said exactly what he should have. No nonsense and factual about where we are at.

Is Jeffy Garlett just trade bait now?
Of the Dee's get offered a pick around 40-50 they will probably take it.

Trengove to Debut for Port
Good luck to him. If anyone deserves some luck from the football gods it's him.
-
Stage Fright
Hard to see any finals matches having less than 40k in attendance. They need to adjust to the big stage quickly.

Is Jayden Hunt Injured?
The only way Hunt comes back a month early is if he is playing for Essendon in 2012 during the Hird/Dank administration.... Probably just an oversight..

Can We Save Our Season?
Season isn't lost, we just have to win against some quality opposition. It's no fun just beating up on the bottom 6 then getting done by the top 8. Vince and Lewis aren't a viable option down back together, but there aren't too many other options to replace them given neither player can move into the middle. Not sure who could go back, shame Hunt is injured. Would like to see what we have in Petty, Baker, Weeds and even Balic in the back end of the season. Not saying they will immediately help but will give us an idea of where they fit next season.

Changes v St Kilda
I think most would agree with you there.

Run home to Finals - 2018
No wrist slashing here, it's called a dose of reality. My comments are fair. We haven't beaten anyone, and until we do we are not contenders. Port aren't contenders either, but I'm not talking about them Lord.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Lewis is pretty safe with the ball. I'm under no illusions that he could out run a tortoise, but he is not the problem. His job is to lead and steer the troops off the ball which he is doing a good job of. Our defensive spread is pretty good, and Lewis has been huge helping that happen. Last night wasn't his best game, but he wasn't near our bottom 6 or 8 last night.

Marc Murphy
I don't think he would be a high dollar player, and Carlton will coerce him into free agency to land a high compo pick. Would be a short term upgrade for us. I'm not convinced our midfiled is complete, and could use him to go up a notch.

Post Match Discussion - Round 14
I woke up angry. I stayed off here last night because my blood was boiling, and didn't want to offend my demon brethren. This one annoyed me more than the Hawks and Pies loss. We dominated and still lost!!!???! We pay superstar dollars but don't get superstar performances from our big names on the big stage. So very angry about this one.

Changes v St Kilda
The way I see it is that we have dropped two winnable games in a row, and a message needs to be sent to to the crew that it simply isn't good enough. There are probably about 6 guys in the side that should be dropped after the past two weeks, but we don't have 6 to replace them. The club needs to roll the dice and see what we have with a Petty or Baker. Could be an upgrade over Joel or Tim Smith. Garlett needs to come back in and it think we need to look and see if Balic is capable at AFL level.

Why success is improvement
Finals is a bare passing grade. A pass for me is to win at least one final. If we want a flag, we need finals experience, and that includes how to win one! We can't win the flag this year but we are good enough to win a final before being knocked out.

Has AFL become too hard to officiate
The game hasn't evolved, it's become Frankenstein's monster with all of the rule changes. I would consider myself an educated fan, but even I sit there and wonder how a rule can consistently be policed or interpreted differentlly each week. I don't have the answers, but leaving the game alone for 10 years might help it settle down and allow the players and umpires to adjust and get the game. While there is ambiguity with the rules, there will be issues playing and watching the game.

Run home to Finals - 2018
Beating those 3 sides isn't going to prove much other than holding firm in the 8. We are the new flat track bullies, we beat up on the poor teams but can't get the job done against good competition. I'm sorry to say it but this side cannot win a flag this season. Unlike the dogs of 16, and tigers of 17 we have not been able to win games against good opposition. Until we can do that, we are just flat track bullies.

Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
I would like to see McKenna at VFL level first before putting a line though him. He hasn't really played so he is a massive unknown.

Wines: Dees Midfield Best
Nah, Port have the best team by far. They have a number of top 5 picks running around in the 2s so they must have great depth...........

Season Ending Hip Surgery for Maynard
Wow, poor bloke. It seems like his name is almost always on the injury list. Hope he can bounce back.

2017 Re-Drafted
Wow, I didn't have him that high but he has outperformed his draft position without question. Happy we have him.
