  1. Take Watts second. Mc Kernan may slip down the board this year, and should be available around 17-19. Watts and Mc Kernan could be nice pieces to rebuild a non existent forward line. That said, we are in dire need of a quality midfielder with on of the top 3 picks. It will be interesting to see what the dees do on the day. I would not be putting any money down on anyone outside Watts joining the Dees. Even that is not a dead certainty.
  2. Sounds like a real talent. Geelong will draft him should he nominate anyway. He would be a great draft addition in the red and blue, but what kid would not want to step into the best side in the comp? Money is on him going to Geelong sadly.
  3. I actually like this rule. Gives those clubs who are rebuilding/tanking a free ticket to tinker with the roster.
  4. We need to get serious if we are to rebuild. We are better off taking a punt on a kid who has not had a chance at the top level out of this upcoming draft, than to recycle guys we know cannot ever be anything special at the top level. Jericho has his chance, and he was not up to it. He is not better than some of the fringe players we have, so why bother when we have our own fringe players to manage. Jericho Vs Random Late Round Smokey Kid. Winner, the Smokey draftee!

    PSD

Best Options if they are available for the Dees: 1. Chuck Norris 2. Steven Segal 3. Hollywood Hulk Hogan The upcoming PSD is shallow as a 18yo super model. Forget it, not going to be much worth chasing.
  6. Mark my words, Carroll is GONE. That makes 7 spots. Wonna will be elevated, and Valenti will have to wait and see how the draft pans out. If the dees draft tall, then Valenti might be on the cusp of elevation. I personally think the fire hydrant will spend another season on the rookie list, then be elevated next season when the pickings to top up a list are slim.
  7. Ben "Snorting The White Pony" Cousins. Still an ELITE player at the top level, His inclusion could be a blessing or disaster. He has the leadership qualities to help develop the kids, it is his past that could be damaging. If he can avoid falling back into bad habits, he is a quality option. Good player, great leader. This is a very risky move for a young developing club, which is why I am sad to say he will not be in the Red and Blue next season. He will however be playing AFL next season, too good not to be!
  8. Macca- Too old, has 2 years left at best. Bruce- Possible, but tends to get lost in some games, how will he handle the responsibility of Captain? Green- My pick 8 weeks ago, his flip-flop will i or wont I during trade week has hurt his chances. Brock- Can handle the pressure no doubt, and is a great leader, but is he mature enough? Cannot afford off field dramas as captain of the MFC. Smokey, but needs a year to show his maturity. Miller- No chance in Hell. Rivers- This guys is a dead set leader! Wont be given the skipper role, but watch this space. He is a general and knows his footy. A true asset to have at the Club. Will the dees be one of the St kilda sorts with a rotation (that system is B.S if you ask me!), or a Joint captain club where we cannot find a clear standout?
  9. Jackas Back, you are what the French refer to as "Le ignorante toole". Cranbourne is fine, it is the same as any other outer suburb you F$5king [censored]! Melbourne did not land warnock because he was offered a cosy job at Visy. Prismall just grabbed the first ticket out of Geelong he could get, and the Demons would never take OKeefe due to his Jordan like contract demands.
  10. Happy with Trade week? I am happy we did not pick up some hacks (Farren Ray was a bargain, for that price I would have been happy with that deal), but I am of the belief that we could have landed another pick between 30-50 which would have given us another shot at a smokey, and helped ease our cap a little. Should have moved Carroll if there truly was a deal on the table , now we will have to pay him out and add to the whopping debt that is surely to mount. Jamar, CJ should have also been moved, as they are solid but not dominant.
  11. I am of the belief that we need 2 mid fielders with 2 of our top 4 picks. Should there be some strong quality on the table pick 17 and 19 (depends on selections prior to those picks as to who is still on the table). We have JNR on the down slope of his career, and lack player who can dispose of the ball cleanly. Some crisp ball users are paramount to our rebuilding. I think we have those slower "under the pack" types in Mclean, Jones and to a lesser extent valenti, leaving a void for a classy midfielder or two to blitz clearances and deliver the ball in a clean manner to your forward line. Mclean is a nice balance of both, but his job would be made easier with a class act at centre bounces. Have heard a few whispers about Jetta around the place, have not seem him in action but know he is a bit of a sleeper this year. Not sure of he is the type of player we are after, but could be wort a later pick. I am just kicking myself that we did not try and get another pick in this draft.
  12. to be fair to YM, these trades are not too far from left field. They are all possible deals given the crazy day that is ahead. Not sure on the greeny deal, i think we could do better than that, but a trigger finger could see a deal such as that done.
  13. He is alright, but does not really fit in to the long term picture. has 5-6 years of footy left, we need guys with a bit more to offer in the long term. We are 2-3 seasons off playing finals, let alone pushing for a flag. better off sticking with a kid and grooming him for that spot, if watts is coming to the red and blue, hansen would cut into his playing time.
  14. Take the best available player. Prismall if fit would be the better of the two.
  15. As long as we do not give up a top 30 pick for him I am fine with him going to Carlton. Let him be their false messiah. would prefer to draft and develop our own ruckman in all honesty. I just hope the dees are active and grab some picks or young fringe players who are wanting to come to the MFC. If that means unloading a disgruntled greeny, Wheats, CJ and jamar, than so be it.
  16. If greeny wants to leave, we could do a hell of a lot worse than pick 16. If greeny wants to stay, i would prefer to keep him to help develop the kids (kids need old heads around the place to help them settle). If he wants out, pick 16 is a good deal for both parties.
  17. Hmm, My Take is: Trade all 3 demons. Grab what you can for Jamar, and CJ (Cj is coming of age, but will be surpassed by the young crop of players coming through before too long). Green has value, this is the last year he will. Warnock is not worth pick 17 or 19, and why would we do something so stupid when we get grab him in the PSD? Not keen on prismall, and injury like that never allows a player to e the way he was before. Will still be decent, but too risky with such a strong draft class to choose from instead.
  18. Cannot believe Greeny would walk out on us! He has plenty of footy left in him, and I would have thought the red and blue was the place for him. Has been one of my Favourite MFC of recent times, and I wish him the best if he goes. That said, if i meet him in a bar, drinks will not be on me. That honor is reserved for those who bleed red and blue! See ya greeny, thanks for the good times........I hope your replacement is as good if not slightly better.
  19. I am almost certain this deal will be done. Carlton will make this happen. This will be one of the first trades, or last trades made in trade week. Will be interesting to see how this pans out. I am tipping the first trade made for trade week will be Jeff White to Sydney for Pick 62. If Jeff is not traded, that is where the Swannies want to be selecting him if he nominates.
  20. Davey will not be going anywhere. Green is the most likely player to be traded. Unlikely to see both Green and Davey traded in the same trade period. The dees will be hunting for picks no doubt, but their will be limitations on just how many star players the dees move. More likely to see some middle tier players (dunn, wheats) moved for middle-late picks than the dees shipping all their stars for early round picks.
  21. Seaby sucks! If he comes to the MFC that would be a poor move for our list. He cannot dominate at this level, would rather give a list spot to a kid, with the hope that they can one day dominate.
  22. Computer says "noooo"
  23. Too young to walk away from footy. he must knew it was his time to go. Great Clubman.
  24. Watts is F&cking awesome!
