Rusling is crapola! We have enough of that already.

Dawes for Pick 18 and Simon Buckley on the move
Adzman replied to demonglory's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pies rejects are still rejects. Would prefer to pick at geelongs rejects than Collingwoods. There are some good players on the move, keeping picks and players until the last day of trade week is a a better strategy than moving picks and players for Dawes before the dust has settled. -
He just would hate to wear purple each week! Davey is a favourite son at the MFC, and to see him stay for less speaks volume of his character.
-
If we took jolly now we would still be looking for a ruckman to carry on during our premiership window which should be open in 3 years (at which time jolly will be 30 and will have 1 maybe 2 years left of footy, and good footy is debatable!) Love Jolly, but his time in red and blue is over, we need to find someone in their early 20s, or find a kid who is going to be solid in this years draft to ensure in 3 years time we have a ruckman who can be playing their best footy during our stint at the top.
-
Bell in the bargain bin? Means that he is actually rated as a player. Miller to Swans? Makes sense for a second rounder in a "thin draft", but doubtful.
-
He is only 25 (2 years older than brock), has played 50 more games than brock, and has been through the rebuilding phase before. If he is available in the PSD for the right money he would be a great addition to the club. Leaders are hard to find- Ball is a proven leader.
-
Love it! Lets hope this really happens, I am sold on both of them!
-
We could sell them Newton as the "fev replacement"- They took CJ so they could take anyone!!!
-
If it is the last uncompromised draft for a while then what makes you think other teams will be throwing away their early picks to take our fodder off our hands? Face facts, our picks are solid as they stand and are 90% likely to remain as they are. Your miller/valenti types will be traded for later pick swapping, not in the first round. And that is optimistic to think that sides want to trade with a team which has scraped together a handful of wins in the last 3 years. Lets gets a few guns with picks 1 & 2, then lets see what is available for 11 & 18. Still hoping Burgoyne falls through the cracks to us in the PSD. He is a freakin gun!

Why go for a player who will not be around when we challenge for the flag in a few years time?
-
To have 2x daveys you might need to extract 1xWonna or 1x Jetta. I like Wonna and Jetts, that and they have youth on their side. You never know, maybe by 2010s end Wonna and jetta will have worked into the midfield rotation.
-
Have not heard much of him until recently. A 1st rd pick is a big call. Should still come in second round. There is a stack of good kids this year, so he may fall around the 20s this draft.

Swannies have more holes than a block of swiss cheese. They have had some big departures, and unless they can get some young gun talent through that door quickly they are destined to spend a "demonesque" spell at the bottom of the AFL ladder soon. A player and pick 11 for pick 5 is possible, but 6 picks difference you are really starting to split hairs there.

One more player to follow Brock out the door!
Adzman replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
Although not first hand info, my Father in law (mad essendon member and has a few connections) told me he has heard the Colin Garland to essendon rumor from his end. Apparently they are looking at players that can play forward and back to help fill the void left by Lucas/Lloyd and soon to be Fletcher. I hope this does not happen, and hope the dees can lock him up for 2-3 years as I believe he is a super talent with much development ahead of him. When word is out that another club wants one of your young, talented & uncontracted players it is cause for concern. The fact he has a moon boot on could hurt his trade value. If i hear anything else from the essendon rumor mill I will keep you all posted. Would hate to lose Garland!! -
Wells has skills, but is largely overrated and is on a worst list than ours. Would the dees trade for him? Perhaps, but given that we just lost brock I think they will wait to see what happens trade week before agreeing to such a deal. Wells would be also earning a packet, maybe a good idea to sit this one out and hope buygoyne slips to us for free. better to have a few extra dollars sitting around just in case the dawks and flower cant strike up a deal.

This question is gay- but the answer is Matty Bate! Ginger is a spice you know!

If we didn't draw that line in the sand in the late 90s then a certain boy from Tassie may not have been given a chance on a rookie list to help aid the next youth movement through the club. What was his name?? Rober..something. Swings and roundabouts! Thanks for the memories Robbo, l always appreciate what you did for the club, but we are going through hell at the moment and if you wanted this club to be grand again you would understand why this all came about.

Was born into it 3rd gen, or was I born with a Curse?? The Curse sounds mire dramatic, let us go with that. Have since passed this curse onto my wife (who barracked for Geelong who have entered now 3 grand finals since our engagement), and plan to pass onto any children (should they wish to live under my roof). Curse I tell you!!

2009 for me was all about watching Colin Garland develop. By seasons end Chip Frawley made me forget that Garland even existed. He looks to be a surefire star for this club, and I hope he stays with us and continues to develop. He was a real shining light for us in 09.

Might have our own Swan/Beams type running around next season
Adzman replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
A Full sleeve of Tatts?? Would be done in a few sittings over a while if he plans to be up and training in a few weeks. Will be interesting to see what comes out of it, hopefully nothing wanky! -
A forward that can't kick is about as useful as a condom with holes in it. Sure the intention is right, but you know that there is a high risk you are not going to get the job done right. Millers marking and efforts are good, but a forward must kick goals. Miller goes around another year given the Brock has left leaving another gap in leadership for kids coming through the system. I really like Brad both as a player and as a person, if 2010 doesn't work for him then it could be his last in red and blue. Sadly for Brad he is warming a seat for Watts at this stage.

I am still not sold on Meesen, and until the day Meesen or Jamar can lock down the ruck spot with consistence, Pj stays on the list as some insurance. Spencer is going to take years to get to the level required, that said I think he will get there and be solid. In the mean time we need to make the call as to who will ruck until Spencer (or other potential gun draftee) is ready. 2010 is the final year for all 3 if they cannot lock it down, so I say go around one more year with all 3 (Jamar/meesen/PJ) and see who can win the ruck spot!

Freo will always be a joke IMO. Jumper looks like someone threw up a cadbury chocolate wrapper on a putting green. That, and their logo is an anchor, a bad omen in sport having your logo symbolically weigh you down!

People say Sylvia had a break-out year in 2009. My honest belief is that we have only seen the tip of the iceberg. 2 more years of Sylvia could help him show us all what he can do! Wonna just needs to get fit, he is a star on the rise also. He was missed in 09!

Nice to read Flash is back for 3 more. To be honest, Burgoyne still lurks as an unlikely freebie that could erase the memory of Brock's departure.
