This is not a sexy option, but hear me out… would we be interested in Jed Bews from the Cats purely as a lock down small defender? Would then allow us to use Bowey and McVee in more attacking roles. Unrestricted free agent I believe.

Saying Adams hasn’t developed is a bit harsh. He’s in his second season and is a 20yo key position player. I’ve seen some good signs from him at Casey this year and I think he will continue to improve. Has a great left peg! But I’m happy we are looking to improve our list for the here and now

Based on the rumoured trade targets mentioned in the media and Dland posters, it seems we are going hard for ready made key position players. I really like this strategy, as we all know it takes 2-3 years minimum often before they become genuine AFL players (JVR is a freak). That makes me think we may try get two draft picks inside the top 20ish and take two midfielders, given they can often have an impact much quicker.

Not sure he's someone we should be looking at. 28 year old journeyman. Would rather we look at a 22/23 year old who can in and do a role but also has room for improvement as a big man.
